Beloved of All
My youngest daughter is dating someone we thought was fine. He's over ### years older than her. Over time, his niceness wore down and he has her hooked. She's started crying a lot and I don't know the pull. If it's magic or what? She can't seem to break up. Please Jesus help her. Give her clarity, rest, and energy each day to do her nursing work and to love herself more. Protect her Jesus 24/7

We join you in this urgent cry for your youngest daughter and we bring her before the throne of grace together in Jesus' name. We hear your anguish as a parent watching your daughter be worn down by a relationship that has left her crying, hooked, and unable to break free, and we stand with you asking for the Lord's clarity, rest, and protection over her every hour of every day.

We are concerned by what you describe. A relationship that begins with niceness but slowly leads to tears, confusion, and feeling trapped is not marked by the love that God intends. True love is patient and kind and does not manipulate or control, as we read in 1 Corinthians 13:4-5, and it does not seek to wear someone down. When there is a large age difference, there can also be an imbalance of power and life experience that can make it harder for a younger woman to discern and to set healthy boundaries. We believe courtship should be a purposeful season between a man and a woman who are both believers in Christ, moving toward holy marriage with purity, honesty, and mutual respect. The Bible teaches us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers in 2 Corinthians 6:14, and to flee from sexual immorality in 1 Corinthians 6:18, because our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. If this relationship has involved intimacy outside of marriage, we gently and lovingly call that fornication and urge repentance and a turning toward purity, for God forgives and restores when we confess and seek His way. A godly marriage between a man and a woman is the only place God has ordained for that intimacy, and any relationship that pulls her away from that design needs to be examined in the light of Scripture.

You mentioned wondering about magic or a strange pull keeping her bound. We understand that fear, and we want to remind you that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood alone, but against spiritual forces as described in Ephesians 6:12, yet greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world as promised in 1 John 4:4. Whether the pull is emotional manipulation, trauma bonding, or spiritual oppression, Jesus Christ has all authority to break every chain. The Lord sees her tears and is near to the brokenhearted in Psalm 34:18, and He promises to give wisdom generously to those who ask in James 1:5. We also want to gently correct the idea of learning to love herself more apart from God. Her true worth and identity are found not in self-focus but in knowing she is fearfully and wonderfully made in Psalm 139:14 and deeply loved by God, which then enables her to love Him and others rightly while guarding her heart with all diligence as Proverbs 4:23 teaches.

We encourage you to continue to be a safe, steady, non-condemning place for her to turn, while also speaking truth in love. Encourage her to seek godly counsel from a pastor or mature believing women, to stay connected to fellowship, and to allow you and other trusted family to speak into her life. Help her to set clear boundaries, to seek rest, and if there is any controlling or threatening behavior, to seek wise help and safety planning from trusted authorities and counselors. For her nursing work, which is a beautiful calling to serve others, we pray she will do it with all her heart as unto the Lord in Colossians 3:23, but she cannot pour out when she is depleted. She needs sleep and renewal that only God can give, for He gives power to the weak and increases the strength of those who have no might in Isaiah 40:29, and Jesus invites those who are weary to come to Him for rest in Matthew 11:28.

We now pray together for her.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our only mediator and Savior, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved and have access to Your throne as Acts 4:12 and John 14:6 declare. We lift this precious daughter to You. Lord, You see her tears, You know the confusion and exhaustion she feels, and You know every detail of this relationship. We ask You to shine Your light into any darkness, manipulation, or spiritual bondage and break every ungodly tie that is holding her. Give her clarity of mind, eyes to see truth, and courage to walk in it. We pray You would replace fear with Your perfect love and a sound mind as promised in 2 Timothy 1:7. Grant her deep, peaceful rest at night and renewed energy each day for her nursing work, guarding her steps and keeping her from harm. Place Your heavenly protection around her 24 hours a day, for You are her refuge and fortress in Psalm 91:2 and You will keep her from all evil and watch over her going out and coming in in Psalm 121:7-8. Draw her close to You, help her to flee from any fornication and to desire purity and a future godly marriage that honors You if it is Your will for her to marry, and surround her with wise, believing counsel and with her parents' love. Strengthen this mother and father with Your peace that passes all understanding in Philippians 4:7, give them wisdom for every conversation, and let Your will be done in this daughter's life. We ask all this in the powerful and saving name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

We hear how heavy this is to watch as her mom, seeing your youngest daughter crying more, feeling pulled in a direction she can't seem to get free from, and wanting so much for her to have clarity and rest again.

It makes sense that it feels confusing, almost like an outside pull. When someone slowly wears down kindness into control, a person can lose their sense of where they end and the other person begins. Part of healing is quietly rebuilding that sense of self again, the freedom to know what she wants, what she doesn't want, and to be able to say yes and no without fear or guilt.

What tends to help most in this kind of season is not pressure, but steady, safe connection. We encourage you to keep the door open with her without debating the relationship itself. Listen more than advise, remind her you love her and you are for her, and help her stay connected to other safe people, family, trusted friends, a pastor or counselor she respects. If she is open, a caring Christian counselor could walk with her as she sorts through what is happening and what healthy boundaries could look like for her, especially with the demands of nursing work.

And please care for your own rest too as you carry this.

Father, we lift this daughter to You and ask for Your protection over her day and night. Give her clarity when she feels confused, rest when she is worn down, and strength for each shift and responsibility. Help her to see her own worth through Your eyes and to find wise, safe support around her. Give her mom wisdom, peace, and steady hope as she loves her well. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer as a mother has been heard, and the sorrow that has made your daughter to weep much is known to our gracious God. It is a heavy burden to watch one you love held fast by a pull she cannot herself explain, and to see her tears and weariness while she must still go forth to her daily labour.

We will join you in crying to the Lord Jesus Christ for her deliverance and keeping. Remember that marvelous promise, The Lord shall preserve you from all evil, He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in. In answer to the prayer, Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the Evil One, you shall be preserved in purity and uprightness and from all the devices of the devil, for that Evil One touches you not when you are covered and protected by Divine Grace.

Jesus Christ, the King of Kings, has come with Divine authority to proclaim liberty from the slavery of sin. When the Lord sets His people free He takes away the spirit of bondage and gives them the spirit of liberty. What holds your daughter in this entangling attachment, whether it be the subtle power of unwise affection or the deceitful error that the world spreads, the Lord is able to break in a moment. He makes the dry tree to flourish, and He causes the disease of the soul to vanish when we look to Him.

Let us pray together for her. Poor soul, do not be too particular about your reasons for praying. Cry from your very soul, God be merciful to me, a sinner, and God will hear and have mercy.

O Lord our God, look in mercy upon this young woman. Thou seest her crying and her confusion of heart. Give her clarity of mind to see what is true and what is not, and to keep herself unspotted from the world. Grant her rest in the night and energy each day for the nursing work Thou hast set before her, for the moment the Lord Jesus saves and strengthens a soul, He gives that soul strength for its appointed service. Let her know how precious she is in Christ, not that she may live unto self, for everything that lives on self shall be dried up, but that she may love what Thou lovest and value her soul as Thou valuest it, kept pure before Thee. Preserve her, we beseech Thee, twenty four hours each day, keep her from pestilence that walks in darkness and from insidious and deceitful snares. From a pardoning God let mercies come down, that her spirit may revive and she may gather her share of Divine gifts. Father of Lights, with whom is no variableness, turn not from her, but let Thy grace be her covering.

Take courage and continue in prayer. He who has heard your cry will not turn from you. Feed upon Christ by faith, set Caution and Self examination at the helm, and seek godly counsel and the watchful care of faithful friends around her, that she may be helped to stand. The Lord is gracious and His mercy endureth forever, and He is able to keep that which is committed unto Him.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer for your youngest daughter has been heard and we are joining you in bringing her before the Lord with urgency and love.

We do not ask God to bless a relationship that is causing her to cry often and that holds her in a way she cannot seem to break free from, but we do ask Him to bring clear sight, strength, and protection over her. When a much older person pursues a younger woman and wears down her better judgment with outward niceness, it can create a powerful and unhealthy pull that confuses the heart and drains daily life. We pray that God will break that hold and give her freedom to see things as they truly are.

We pray together for her:

Father in heaven, we lift this young woman to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You see her tears, You know her exhaustion from her nursing work, and You know the pressure she feels in this relationship. Grant her clarity of mind to discern what is good and true, and courage to step away from what harms her. Give her deep rest at night and renewed energy each day to do the work You have given her with care and steadiness. Guard her heart and body day and night, keep her safe from manipulation and from any spiritual confusion or harm, and surround her with Your presence. Help her to know her true worth as Your daughter, created and loved by You, and to love herself not with pride but with the right understanding that she is precious in Your sight and made whole by faith in Christ. Lead her to trusted family, godly friends, and wise counsel in the church who can walk closely with her, speak truth in love, and help her set firm and healthy boundaries.

We also pray for you as her parent, that God will give you peace as you keep watch in prayer, wisdom to speak with gentleness and truth, and strength to keep loving her without growing weary. Continue to keep open doors of communication with her, let her know she is deeply loved and not judged, and encourage her to seek support from mature believers and, if needed, from a trusted counselor or pastor who can help her process what she is experiencing.

God is able to deliver and to heal, and He delights to make those who trust in Christ His sons and daughters and to give the Spirit of adoption. May He show your daughter that she is already loved, already valued, and that in Him there is freedom, soundness of mind, and a future full of hope. We will keep praying for her protection around the clock, for her rest, and for her complete release into the life God desires for her.

Thank you for sharing this heavy burden about your youngest daughter. The pain of watching her cry often and feel unable to step away from a relationship that once seemed kind is deeply distressing, and it is right to bring her before Jesus for help.

God desires a close and loving relationship with each of us, not a distant or ritual one. He invites us to know Him as Father and to know how deeply we are loved by Him through Jesus Christ. When that primary relationship with God is being restored and strengthened, other relationships begin to come into clearer perspective. Scripture shows that our relationship with God is first, and when it is right, our relationships with others can find better balance. When a relationship brings confusion, tears, and a sense of being trapped, it is a sign that something is out of alignment with His good design for love, which is meant to bring peace, respect, and protection, not control or sorrow. His design for marriage as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman is given for our good, and relationships outside that pattern, or that involve pressure, manipulation, or intimacy outside of that covenant, often lead to jealousy, rivalry, and hurt.

We join you in praying for your daughter in the name of Jesus, who alone brings salvation and freedom.

Father in heaven, we lift this young woman to You. You see her tears, her weariness, and the pull she feels that makes it hard to break away. Draw her into a deeper, personal relationship with Jesus. Let her experience Your love in a real way and know that she is valued and cherished as Your daughter. Give her clarity to see this relationship as You see it, and give her strength and courage to make choices that honor You and protect her heart and body. Grant her rest at night and renewed energy each day for her nursing work, which requires so much care for others. Help her to love herself as one made in Your image and deeply loved by You, not based on another person's approval. Place Your protection around her at all hours, guard her mind, her emotions, and her body, and break any unhealthy bond that is holding her. Surround her with wise and godly counsel, and help her family to speak truth with love and patience, honoring the important place of parents and family in her life. Lead her back to a first love for You, where she finds her security and hope.

Continue to pray for her daily, to keep communication open with gentle love, and to encourage her to seek wise counsel and to stay rooted in Scripture and prayer. God hears your prayers for her protection and restoration, and He is able to bring clarity, rest, and healing in His time.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for your youngest daughter.

We have continued to lift her before the Lord and ask Him to surround her with His protection day and night, to grant her clarity where there is confusion and tears, to break every unhealthy tie that has her feeling hooked and unable to step away, and to guard her heart and mind in Christ. We have prayed for rest for her soul and renewed energy each day for her nursing work, and that she would come to love herself more as God loves her and see herself through His eyes.

We pray in Jesus Name that the Lord will give her wisdom and discernment beyond what she can see right now, for James 1:5 tells us that God gives wisdom generously to those who ask Him, and that He will be her refuge and strength. We ask Him to heal her broken heart as promised in Psalm 147:3 and to cover her under His wings according to Psalm 91:1.

If your request was answered and you have seen God bring clarity, peace, rest and freedom to your daughter, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not yet seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer for her complete protection and deliverance.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We continue to stand with you in prayer in Jesus Name.
