Urgent

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your middle daughter to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Father God, we know that You see her struggles and the dangers she faces, and we ask for Your divine protection and intervention in her life. The Bible tells us in Psalm 91:11-12, "For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone." Lord, we claim this promise over her life. Surround her with Your angels, keeping her safe from harm, temptation, and the snares of the enemy.

We also pray for her sobriety, Father. The Word of God warns us in 1 Peter 5:8, "Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." Lord, we rebuke the spirit of addiction that seeks to destroy her life. We declare freedom over her in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Fill her with Your Holy Spirit, granting her the strength and self-control to resist temptation and turn away from substances that harm her body, which is Your temple (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

Father, we ask that You draw her heart back to You. Soften her spirit to receive Your love and truth. Remind her of Your promise in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." Let her feel Your presence in a tangible way, Lord, and let her know that she is deeply loved, not just by us, but by You.

We also pray for wisdom and discernment for you, as her parent. The Bible instructs us in Proverbs 22:6, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." Father, give her parents the words to speak, the actions to take, and the patience to walk alongside her through this difficult season. Help them to set godly boundaries while extending grace and love, just as You do for us.

Lord, we know that true transformation comes only through Jesus Christ. If she has not yet surrendered her life to You, we pray that today would be the day of her salvation. Romans 10:9 tells us, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." We ask that You break every chain of bondage in her life and replace it with the freedom that comes from knowing You.

We stand in the gap for her, declaring that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We rebuke every spirit of despair, fear, and addiction in Jesus' name. We speak life, healing, and restoration over her mind, body, and spirit. May she rise up as a testimony of Your power and grace, Lord.

Heavenly Father, we trust You to move mightily in her life. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We hear the weight in those words, the kind of love that keeps a parent awake at night, turning a daughter's name into a prayer over and over. Addictive struggles are like a fog that settles over a family, making everyone feel disoriented and alone. But you are not alone in this, and neither is she. We're holding her name before the Lord with you right now.

One thing we've seen over the years is that addiction thrives in isolation and withers in honest connection. While you can't control her choices, your steady, loving presence matters more than you may realize. Sometimes a parent's calm refusal to pretend everything is fine, paired with a refusal to give up, becomes a lifeline.

For your own sake in this long journey, we'd encourage you to find support for yourself as well. Groups like Al-Anon or a trusted prayer partner at church can help you carry this without burning out. And when she shows even a flicker of readiness, having a name ready, a Christian counselor, a Celebrate Recovery group, or a local treatment option, can help her take that next right step.

Let's pray:

Jesus, we lift up this precious daughter to you right now. You see her, you know the tangled fears and pains she may be trying to escape, and you love her more deeply than any of us can. Surround her with protection, bring trustworthy people across her path who will speak truth and offer help, and clear away every obstacle that stands between her and sobriety. Give her parent supernatural courage, wisdom, and enduring hope. In your strong name we pray, amen.

Lay hold upon the promise that is given to the praying parent, and do not let your grip grow slack. The danger is real, and you are right to make this urgent plea, for we are all in danger of falling, not only the weak, but also the strong. Your daughter walks through a land of snares, where the adversary prowls like a roaring lion. Yet the danger is the very reason we fly to our infinite Friend!

Cry to Him who is able to keep her from falling. He has said, "He shall give His angels charge over you," and do you think He will forget that poor girl, for she is a daughter of His? The path of sobriety is the way of principle, the way of consecrated service, and it is upon that road alone that angelic protection is guaranteed. Plead with the Lord to set her feet on that way and hold her fast.

Do not give way to a frantic terror, but with holy patience wait upon the God of Sarah. If your daughter has wandered, pray that the only wise God our Savior will find her and present her faultless one day. Our safety lies in Him, not in our own strength. He is able, and as wise as He is able, to keep her. His Throne might sooner fail than one of His little ones perish. So commend her to the faithful care of the covenant-keeping God, and let your heart find rest there.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You weep for your daughter now, fearing for her safety, but tell me: in what does her safety truly consist? Is it in the absence of danger, in a life untroubled? Look to Joseph, thrown into a pit by his own brothers, sold into slavery, falsely accused by a lustful woman, cast into a dungeon meant for criminals. Which was the safer place for his soul: the house of his master where a wild beast of a woman stalked him daily, pressing him to sin against God? Or that dark prison where he was free to be the servant of God alone? That prison was a haven. That accusation was a deliverance. God so orders the affairs of men that the very things we think are for our ruin He uses to work our salvation. You cry out for her safety, but what is your cry but a plea that she be preserved from all discomfort, all struggle? Yet it is often in the midst of the storm that the soul learns to cling to the only true refuge. Do you not know that the peril which drives her to her knees is a mercy more to be desired than the smooth sailing that leads to spiritual shipwreck? God is jealous for her love, and He will not suffer her to find her security in any earthly thing, not in her own strength, not in her companions, not even in the safety you so desperately wish for her.

You ask for her sobriety, and this is a right and necessary prayer. But sobriety of soul is more than sobriety of body. Paul commands that children learn to continue “in faith and love and sanctification with sobriety.” This is a wall no enemy can breach, a guard seated within that needs no outward contrivance. Instill this in her, and what can harm her? Fear not the sword, or the storm, or the schemes of men. But where faith and the fear of God are absent, all the walls and safeties we build with our own hands are vain things, a spider’s web before a flame. Do you lament that you cannot protect her? Be glad, for this is the very place where God will show Himself as her true Father. The protection of an earthly parent is a shadow; His is an unbroken wall. She will be safe, not when her path is clear, but when she walks it with Him, even through the valley of the shadow of death. And you? You must do as that Canaanite woman did. See how she cried out for her possessed daughter. Christ seemed to turn her away, to call her unworthy of the children’s bread. Did she accept this? She persevered. She refused to be silent until the Lord said, “Great is thy faith; be it unto thee even as thou wilt.” Her faith contributed to the healing. Your ceaseless prayer, a prayer that refuses deliverance from the anguish of pleading because it looks for a better resurrection for your child’s soul, this is your work. Do not demand that God act according to your script. The furnace is hot, but the Refiner is at work. Entrust her to the only steersman who can navigate these depths. He who sees the light of this world is in a kind of safety; but she who is with Christ, who does not separate herself from Him even in her far-off country of rebellion, she is in eternal safety. Cry out, then, not for a life without peril, but for a soul so anchored in Him that all peril becomes the means of drawing her closer, until her very bruises become the door through which His healing enters.
