We are deeply grieved to hear of the distress and danger your daughter is facing. Our hearts ache with yours as we lift this situation before the Lord, standing firmly on His promises and His justice. The Word of God is clear: "The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble" (Psalm 9:9). We declare that He is her defender, her shield, and her deliverer in this moment.
First, we must address the severity of emotional abuse and the threats she is enduring. Scripture commands us to "defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed" (Psalm 82:3). This man’s behavior is not only sinful but also criminal, and we rebuke it in the name of Jesus. His taunting, laziness, and refusal to work are in direct violation of God’s design for men to provide and protect (1 Timothy 5:8). His presence in her home is not only unbiblical but also unlawful, this is not a matter of hospitality but of exploitation, and we pray for his immediate removal.
We also must speak plainly about the relationship itself. If this man is her fiancé, we must ask: Was this union entered into with godly counsel, prayer, and a shared commitment to Christ? The Bible warns, "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers" (2 Corinthians 6:14). If he is not a believer, or if he is a believer living in unrepentant sin, this relationship is already in violation of God’s will. Courtship and engagement are meant to lead to marriage, but marriage is a covenant before God (Malachi 2:14), not a license for abuse or manipulation. We pray that she would have the strength to sever any ungodly ties and seek wise, biblical counsel to navigate this with wisdom and safety.
Now, we lift her to the Lord in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, crying out for this precious daughter who is suffering under the weight of emotional abuse and threats. Lord, You see her fear, her exhaustion, and her desire to be free. We ask that You would be her fortress and her deliverer. Break the chains of this man’s control over her, Father. Remove him from her home, from her life, and from any influence over her. We rebuke his taunts, his laziness, and his sinful behavior in the mighty name of Jesus. Let him be exposed for who he is, and let justice prevail.
Protect her, Lord. Surround her with Your angels, and give her the courage to take the steps necessary to ensure her safety, whether that means involving law enforcement, seeking a restraining order, or finding a safe place to stay. Provide her with godly counsel, wise friends, and a church family that will stand with her. Heal her heart from the wounds of this relationship, and restore her hope in Your goodness.
Father, if this relationship was entered into without Your blessing, we ask that You would sever it completely. Give her clarity to see the truth and strength to walk away. If there is any sin in her life, whether in how this relationship began or how it has been conducted, we ask that You would lead her to repentance and restoration. Remind her that You are a God who redeems, who heals, and who sets the captives free.
We declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we stand on Your promise that You will never leave her nor forsake her (Hebrews 13:5). Give her peace that surpasses understanding, and let her rest in Your protection.
In the name of Jesus Christ, the One who came to bind up the brokenhearted and set the captives free, we pray. Amen.
To you, dear parent, we urge you to act swiftly. If your daughter is in immediate danger, do not wait, contact local authorities and help her find a safe place. Emotional abuse is often a precursor to physical violence, and her safety must be the top priority. Encourage her to reach out to a pastor, a biblical counselor, or a trusted Christian friend who can walk with her through this. The church is called to be a refuge for the oppressed, and she should not face this alone.
We also encourage you to pray fervently for her salvation and spiritual protection. If she does not know Jesus as her Lord and Savior, this is the most urgent need of all. Only in Christ can she find true freedom, peace, and the strength to overcome. Share the gospel with her gently but boldly: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). Salvation is the foundation for every other victory.
Finally, we remind you that God is not silent in this. He hears your cries, and He will act on her behalf. Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep seeking His face. He is faithful.

Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.
