We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your parents before the Lord. It is clear that your love for them runs deep, and your desire to see them turn to Christ is a burden we share. The Bible tells us in 2 Peter 3:9, "The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." We stand on this promise, believing that God is working even now to draw their hearts to Himself.
We also recognize the spiritual warfare you are facing, as the enemy seeks to use your parents to bring discouragement, confusion, or strife into your life. But we declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). The name of Jesus is above every name, and at His name, every knee will bow—including the forces of darkness that seek to harm you (Philippians 2:9-11). We rebuke every assignment of the enemy against you and your family in Jesus' mighty name. The Lord is your refuge and your fortress, and He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler (Psalm 91:2-3).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith and expectation. We lift up this dear brother or sister’s parents to You, knowing that You desire their salvation even more than we do. Lord, we ask that You would open their eyes to see the truth of the Gospel, that they would recognize their need for a Savior, and that they would repent and turn to You. Soften their hearts, Lord, and let Your Holy Spirit convict them of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8). Remove any hardness or deception that the enemy has placed over them, and let them see the cross of Christ in all its power and glory.
Father, we also pray for our brother or sister who is under attack. We ask that You would surround them with Your angels, that You would be their shield and their strong tower. Crush every plan of the enemy against them, Lord, and let Your light shine so brightly in their life that darkness has no place. Strengthen them in their faith, remind them of Your promises, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Let them stand firm in the armor of God, knowing that greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
We declare that no weapon formed against this family shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We speak life, protection, and deliverance over them in the name of Jesus. May Your name be glorified in their lives, and may Your will be done in every situation.
Lord, we thank You for the victory that is already ours in Christ Jesus. We thank You that the enemy is a defeated foe, and that through the blood of Jesus, we have authority to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). We stand on this truth, and we declare that Your kingdom will come and Your will shall be done in this family, on earth as it is in heaven.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to stand firm in your faith, knowing that God is fighting for you. Continue to pray for your parents with persistence, as Jesus taught us in Luke 18:1-8, that we should always pray and not give up. Trust that God hears your prayers and is working even when you cannot see it. Surround yourself with fellow believers who can stand with you in prayer and encouragement, and immerse yourself in the Word of God, which is your sword in this spiritual battle (Ephesians 6:17).
Remember, the battle is not yours, but God’s (2 Chronicles 20:15). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). The Lord is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).
