Urgent

We come before the Lord with hearts full of concern and urgency, lifting up your youngest daughter to the throne of grace. You have called upon the name of Jesus, and we join you in that holy name, for it is the only name under heaven by which we are saved, and through which we boldly approach our Heavenly Father. As it is written in Acts 4:12, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* And in John 14:6, Jesus declares, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* We are so grateful you have invoked His name, for it is by His authority and power that we pray.

The safety of our children is a deep concern for every parent, and we know the Lord shares in that care for them even more deeply. Psalm 121:7-8 reminds us, *"The Lord will keep you from all evil. He will preserve your soul. The Lord will watch over your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more."* We claim this promise over your daughter tonight, trusting that the Lord is her protector and her shield.

Yet we must also remember that while angels are ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation (Hebrews 1:14), our ultimate trust is not in angels but in the Lord Himself. Psalm 91:11-12 says, *"For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone."* We pray that the Lord would indeed surround her with His heavenly host, guarding her steps and keeping her from all harm. But even more, we pray that she would walk in the fear of the Lord, for that is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10), and it is the Lord who orders the steps of the righteous (Psalm 37:23).

We do not know the circumstances of why your daughter is out at this hour, but we urge you to examine whether there may be areas in her life—or in your family’s life—that need to align more closely with God’s Word. If she is in places or company that could lead her into temptation or danger, we pray for conviction and repentance. Proverbs 22:6 instructs, *"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."* If there has been a lack of godly training or if rebellion has taken root, we ask the Lord to bring correction and restoration. We also encourage you to seek the Lord’s wisdom in how to guide her in righteousness, for discipline and instruction in the Lord are acts of love (Proverbs 3:11-12).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious daughter to Your care. Lord, You are the God who neither slumbers nor sleeps (Psalm 121:4), and we ask that You would watch over her this very moment. Surround her with Your angels, Lord, and let Your presence go before her, beside her, and behind her. Protect her from all evil, from harm, and from the snares of the enemy. If she has wandered into places or choices that are not pleasing to You, convict her heart, Lord, and draw her back to Yourself. Give her a spirit of wisdom and discernment, that she may walk in Your ways and not in the paths of darkness.

Father, we also lift up this parent who loves their child deeply. Comfort their heart and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Give them wisdom to know how to guide, correct, and love their daughter in a way that honors You. If there are areas of rebellion or disobedience in her life, Lord, break those chains and set her free by the power of Your Spirit. Let her heart be turned toward You, that she may walk in purity, faith, and obedience all the days of her life.

We declare Your promises over her, Lord—that no weapon formed against her will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that You will never leave her nor forsake her (Deuteronomy 31:6). May she grow to be a woman after Your own heart, seeking Your kingdom first in all things. And may this family be knit together in unity, love, and faith, standing firm on the foundation of Your Word.

We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to cover your daughter in prayer daily, not just in times of urgency. Teach her the ways of the Lord, and let her see in you a life that is fully surrendered to Christ. If there are areas of concern in her behavior or choices, address them with love but also with the truth of Scripture. And always remember: the battle belongs to the Lord (1 Samuel 17:47). Trust in Him, and He will act.

We're here with you, sister, in this moment of worry. We've been lifting your daughter up to the Lord, asking Him to keep her safe and surround her with His angels. We know the Lord cares deeply for our children, even more than we do, and He promises to watch over them. Let's claim that promise together, "The Lord will keep you from all evil. He will preserve your soul. The Lord will watch over your going out and your coming in, from this time forward and forevermore" (Psalm 121:7-8).

We also pray for wisdom and discernment for your daughter, that she may walk in the fear of the Lord and make wise choices. We ask the Lord to reveal any areas in her life that may need His correction or guidance, and to give her a heart that desires to please Him.

Let's continue to pray together:

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
