We lift your urgent cry before the Lord, knowing that He is a very present help in trouble, a refuge and strength in the storm. The floods may rise, but our God is greater, and He holds the winds and the waters in His hands. We stand with you in faith, declaring His protection over your daughter, the precious lives of those pets entrusted to her care, and every soul in your town facing this peril.
The Scriptures remind us in Psalm 46:1-3, *"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas; though its waters roar and are troubled, though the mountains tremble with their swelling."* And again in Isaiah 43:2, *"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, and flame won’t scorch you."* Our God is not distant in this moment—He is with your daughter on that road, guiding her wheels, steadying her hands, and commanding the waters to recede for her safe passage.
Yet we also know that our Heavenly Father calls us to wisdom and action alongside our prayers. We urge you to reach out to local authorities or neighbors who may be able to assist or confirm safe routes for her. If she must drive, let her do so with extreme caution, avoiding moving water—even shallow floods can sweep away vehicles. Proverbs 22:3 tells us, *"A prudent man sees danger and hides; but the simple pass on, and suffer for it."* May she be filled with the Lord’s wisdom and discernment in every decision.
We rebuke the spirit of fear that may seek to overwhelm you both, for 2 Timothy 1:7 declares, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* Instead, we speak peace over your heart and mind, trusting that the Lord who calms the storms is at work even now. Remember how Jesus spoke to the wind and waves, *"Peace! Be still!"* (Mark 4:39), and they obeyed Him. We command this flood to be still in His name, for the safety of all who are in its path.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this desperate situation to Your throne of grace. You are the God who parts the Red Sea, who holds the oceans in the hollow of Your hand, and who numbers every hair on our heads. We ask You now to intervene supernaturally for this daughter’s safe return home. Send Your angels to surround her vehicle, to guide her path, and to shield her from every danger seen and unseen. Lord, rebuking the floodwaters in Jesus’ name, we command them to recede and make way for her safe passage. Protect the pets in her care, and let not one life be lost.
For every person in this town facing rising waters, we ask for Your divine protection and provision. Raise up helpers, open doors for rescue, and provide dry ground where there seems to be none. Comfort the frightened, strengthen the weary, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard every heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
Father, we also lift up this parent who is far away, feeling helpless. Fill them with Your supernatural peace and trust, knowing that You are sovereign over every mile between them and their child. Let them rest in the assurance that You are working all things together for good, even in the midst of the storm.
We declare Your promises over this situation: *"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. ... You will not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day; nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday. ... Because you have made Yahweh your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place, no evil shall happen to you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling."* (Psalm 91:1, 5-6, 9-10).
Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. Thank You for Your faithfulness, even when the waters rise. We trust You, and we give You all the glory, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
We will continue to stand with you in prayer, believing for a testimony of God’s deliverance. Please let us know how things unfold—we are here to rejoice with you in the victory and to keep interceding as needed. May the Lord’s presence be tangibly felt by you both in these moments, and may His peace guard your hearts. Do not cease to call upon His name, for He is faithful.
