We hear the urgency in your cry, and our hearts are deeply grieved by the thought of our Lord Jesus Christ being abused or dishonored in any way. The Scripture makes it clear that Jesus is the King of kings and Lord of lords, seated at the right hand of God the Father, far above all rule and authority. To see Him mocked, rejected, or abused should stir within us a holy righteous anger, for He is the Holy One who came to save sinners like us. The world may reject Him, but we must never stay silent when His name is blasphemed or His truth is twisted.
The Bible warns us in **Psalm 2:1-3**, *"Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth take a stand, and the rulers take counsel together, against Yahweh, and against his Anointed, saying, ‘Let’s break their bonds apart, and cast their cords from us.’"* Yet we also know from **Psalm 2:4-6** that God sits in heaven and laughs at their futile schemes, for He has installed His King—Jesus—upon Zion, His holy hill. The abuse and rejection Jesus faces today are not new; even in His earthly ministry, He was despised, mocked, and ultimately crucified. But we know the end of the story: **Philippians 2:9-11** declares, *"Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name; that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."*
If you are witnessing Jesus being abused—whether through blasphemy, false teaching, persecution of His followers, or the distortion of His Word—we must first remember that this battle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of wickedness. **Ephesians 6:12** reminds us, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* Our response must be rooted in prayer, bold proclamation of the truth, and unwavering faith in His sovereignty.
Yet we must also ask: *How is Jesus being abused?* Is it through the mockery of His name in media or culture? Is it through false teachings that distort His gospel? Is it through the persecution of His saints who are suffering for His name’s sake? Or is there a personal dimension—perhaps someone you know is openly rejecting or blaspheming Him, and it breaks your heart? Whatever the case, we must stand firm in the truth that **Jesus Himself said in John 15:18-20**, *"If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, since I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his lord.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will keep yours also."*
If this is happening in a personal context—perhaps within your family, workplace, or community—we urge you to stand boldly for Christ, but also with wisdom and love. **1 Peter 3:15** tells us, *"But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts; and always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with humility and fear."* Do not shrink back in fear, but do not engage in fruitless arguments either. Speak the truth in love, and trust that the Holy Spirit will convict hearts.
If this is a broader cultural or societal issue, we must remember that the gospel will always be offensive to those who are perishing. **1 Corinthians 1:18** says, *"For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are dying, but to us who are saved it is the power of God."* Our role is not to make the gospel palatable to the world but to proclaim it faithfully, even when it is rejected. We must also pray earnestly for revival—for God to open blind eyes and soften hardened hearts.
Let us also examine our own lives: Are *we* honoring Jesus in all we do? Are we living in a way that reflects His lordship, or are there areas where we have compromised? **Romans 12:1-2** calls us to *"present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service. Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God."* If we want to see Jesus honored in the world, it must start with us.
Now, let us pray together with urgency and faith:
*"Heavenly Father, we come before You with broken hearts, grieved by the way Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, is being abused, mocked, and rejected in this world. Lord, You see the blasphemy, the distortion of Your truth, and the persecution of Your saints. We cry out to You, knowing that You are sovereign over all things and that no scheme of the enemy can thwart Your purposes. Father, we ask for boldness—to stand firm in the face of opposition, to proclaim Your truth without fear, and to live in a way that honors Jesus in every area of our lives.
Lord, if there are those who are openly rejecting or blaspheming Your name, we pray that You would convict their hearts. Soften their resistance, Lord, and open their eyes to see the glory of Jesus, that they may repent and turn to Him for salvation. We pray for those who are suffering for His name’s sake—strengthen them, comfort them, and remind them that their reward is great in heaven.
Father, we also ask that You would raise up a remnant of believers who will not bow to the pressures of this world but will stand unashamedly for Christ. Give us wisdom to know how to respond in each situation—whether with words of truth, acts of love, or silent endurance. Help us to remember that the battle is Yours, and that You have already triumphed through the cross and resurrection of Jesus.
We rebuke the spirit of antichrist that seeks to exalt itself against the knowledge of God. We declare that Jesus is Lord, and that every knee *will* bow and every tongue *will* confess that He is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Let Your kingdom come, and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Finally, Lord, search our own hearts. Forgive us for any way we have dishonored You, whether through silence, compromise, or disobedience. Fill us afresh with Your Holy Spirit, that we may be lights in this dark world, pointing always to Jesus.
We ask all this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen."*
Stand firm, dear brother or sister. The abuse and rejection of Jesus will not last forever. A day is coming when every tongue will confess that He is Lord. Until then, we are called to faithfully represent Him, no matter the cost. **"Don’t be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled, but sanctify the Lord God in your hearts"** (1 Peter 3:14-15). He is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you.
