Urgent prayers

Beloved of All
Dear prayer family, Please lift my family in prayer. My brother suffers from serious mental illness and often has violent outbursts. Recently, he screamed and became aggressive because my mom wanted to take her prescribed medicine. He even threatened to break her computer. My mom doesn’t even want to go on this planned trip to Korea, but she agreed to go only to make him happy and avoid another conflict. She is emotionally exhausted, and I’m deeply worried for her safety and peace. One of the neighbours nearby has even moved out and is selling his apartment because of the constant screaming and disturbances. It breaks my heart to see how much this illness has affected everyone, especially my mom. My opinion is he needed to be taken to a hospice but my mom said where they live (they live in a different country) is not a very easy option and she doesn’t want to leave him. We have tried everything — prayers, pastors, doctors, police, and family members who went to help her and offered to take her to a safe place, but she refused. Please pray that the Lord will calm my brother’s mind, break every spirit of confusion and violence, and bring true healing to his heart. Pray also that my mom will be surrounded by divine protection, courage, and comfort. We stand in faith and cling to the Psalms that have always brought us strength — Psalms 24, 29, 91, 100, and 112 — trusting that God will bring peace, protection, and deliverance to their home. In Jesus’ holy name, amen.

We come before the Lord with heavy yet hopeful hearts, lifting your family—especially your brother and mother—in fervent prayer. The burden of mental illness is profound, and the toll it takes on loved ones is heartbreaking. We grieve with you over the suffering your brother endures and the fear and exhaustion your mother carries. Yet we also stand in faith, knowing that our God is a God of healing, peace, and deliverance.

First, we praise you for turning to Scripture for strength, particularly the Psalms, which remind us of God’s sovereignty and protection. Psalm 91:1-2 declares, *"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.’"* This is your family’s promise—God is your refuge, even in the storm.

We also recognize the spiritual battle at hand. Mental illness can be influenced by spiritual forces, and we must address this with authority in Christ. The apostle Paul reminds us in Ephesians 6:12, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* Your brother’s violent outbursts and confusion are not beyond God’s power to break. We pray now for the binding of every spirit of violence, confusion, and oppression in Jesus’ name. We declare that the peace of Christ, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your brother’s heart and mind (Philippians 4:7).

To your mother, we speak courage and divine protection. Her selflessness in trying to appease your brother—even at the cost of her own well-being—is commendable, but we must also urge her to seek safety. Proverbs 22:3 says, *"A prudent man sees danger and hides himself; but the simple pass on, and suffer for it."* While we understand her love for her son, she must not remain in harm’s way. We pray that God will surround her with wise counselors who can help her take necessary steps, even if they are difficult. The Lord does not call us to enable destructive behavior but to act in love and wisdom. If authorities or medical professionals can intervene, she must allow them to do so. This is not abandonment; it is stewardship of the life God has entrusted to her.

We also pray for supernatural wisdom for your family. James 1:5 tells us, *"But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him."* The decision about hospice care, relocation, or other interventions is complex, but God will guide you. He is not limited by geographical or logistical challenges—He can open doors where there seem to be none.

Finally, we rebuke the spirit of fear that has gripped your home. 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* Your mother’s exhaustion is real, but the Lord is her strength. We pray that she will find rest in Him, even as she navigates this trial. And we pray for you, that God will fill you with His peace as you intercede for your family.

Let us pray together:

*"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting this family in their time of deep distress. Lord, You see the suffering of this brother—his tormented mind, his violent outbursts, and the bondage he is in. We ask for Your healing touch upon him. Break every chain of mental illness, every spirit of confusion and violence, and bring clarity, calm, and restoration to his mind. Let Your peace, which transcends all understanding, flood his heart.

Lord, we also lift up this mother, who is weary and afraid. Surround her with Your divine protection. Give her the courage to make hard but necessary decisions for her safety and well-being. Do not let her love for her son lead her into further harm. Provide her with godly counselors, medical professionals, and authorities who can step in and help. Renew her strength, Lord, and let her find rest in You.

We speak against the fear that has driven neighbors away and has left this home in turmoil. Let Your presence be a shield around this family. Open doors for solutions that seem impossible—whether it is proper care for this brother, a safe place for this mother, or a miraculous intervention that brings lasting peace.

Father, we thank You that You are not distant in this suffering. You are near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18), and You hear our cries. We trust in Your power to redeem this situation for Your glory. Let this family experience Your deliverance in a way that leaves no doubt it was Your hand at work.

We pray all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Healer, our Protector, and our Redeemer. Amen."*

Stand firm in faith, dear brother or sister. The Lord has not forgotten your family. Keep praying, keep seeking His face, and trust that He is working even when you cannot see it. We will continue to lift you up, believing for God’s perfect will to be done. If there are updates or further needs, do not hesitate to share them. You are not alone in this.

Dear friend, we're right there with you, lifting your family up in prayer. We've been moved by your heartfelt plea and want you to know that you're not alone in this. We're standing with you, believing for God's healing and peace to fill your home.

We've been reflecting on Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." We claim this promise over your brother and mother. We pray that God will:

- Bring healing and wholeness to your brother's mind, breaking every chain of mental illness, confusion, and violence. We ask that God's peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard his heart and mind (Philippians 4:7).
- Surround your mother with divine protection, courage, and comfort. We pray that she will find the strength to make necessary decisions for her safety and well-being, trusting that God is her refuge and her fortress (Psalm 91:1-2).
- Rebuke the spirit of fear that has gripped your home, replacing it with God's power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7).
- Give your family supernatural wisdom to navigate this complex situation, opening doors where there seem to be none (James 1:5).
- Provide wise counselors, medical professionals, and authorities to step in and help, if necessary.

We're also reminded of Jesus' words in Matthew 11:28-29, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." We pray that your mother, and your whole family, will find this rest in Jesus.

We're here for you, praying with you and for you. Please keep us updated, and know that we're believing for God's best in this situation. You're not alone; we're in this together. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
