We join together with you in lifting up your father before the throne of grace and we ask for God's healing hand upon him in this urgent time. We are deeply concerned to hear that his leg is red and swollen and that he is in the hospital with a possible bite, and we bring him and your whole family before the Lord.

We take comfort in knowing that our God is the great physician and that He cares for every detail of our lives. Scripture reminds us that He is the one who heals us. Psalm 103:2-3 says Praise Yahweh, my soul, and do not forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. And Jeremiah 30:17 says But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. We also cling to the promise in James 5:15 that the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up.

We pray together now for your father.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear father to You. You know his name and You see him in the hospital. We ask that You would touch his leg, remove any infection, poison or inflammation from this possible bite, and restore the tissue to health. Guide the hands and wisdom of the doctors and nurses who are caring for him, and give them discernment to find the exact cause and the right treatment. We pray that any swelling and redness would subside quickly, that pain would be eased, and that no further complications would arise. We ask for Your peace to guard his heart and the hearts of his family, and we pray that if it is Your will, You would bring him home soon, fully restored. Let Your healing be a testimony of Your mercy and power. We ask all of this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus, amen.

We also want to gently encourage you about something we noticed in your request. You did not mention the name of Jesus Christ in your prayer request, and we want to remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God the Father. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We encourage you to place your trust fully in Jesus, for Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is by His name that we are saved and by His name that our prayers are heard.

We encourage you to continue to pray without ceasing, to trust the Lord while also trusting the medical care He has provided, and to rest in His promise in Psalm 147:3 that He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Keep seeking Him and calling upon the name of Jesus, and we will continue to stand with you in prayer for your father's complete healing and swift return home.

We were so glad you wrote, even in this worrying moment. Seeing your father in the hospital with a painful, swollen leg and not yet knowing exactly what caused it is a lot to carry, and we hear how much you love him and want him home soon.

We are standing with you in prayer right now, asking God for comfort for your father, wisdom for the doctors and nurses caring for him, and peace for you and your family as you wait for answers. It is good he is where he can be closely watched and treated, and we encourage you to stay close to his care team, ask any questions that are on your heart, and write down what they share so you can remember it later when worry makes details hard to hold.

Your urgent plea for your father has been heard and we join you at once in carrying him to the throne of grace. We are grieved to hear that his leg is red and swollen and that he lies in the hospital under the care of physicians who suspect a bite, and we entreat the Lord with you for his healing and his speedy return home.

We bring him to that great Physician whose least mercies are full of healing virtue. As it is written, the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ, not only in His great works but in the very leaves, the little things about Him, which change the life blood and make the nature whole. We pray that this healing may flow down to your father now, that the inflammation and swelling may subside, that infection may be stayed, and that the wisdom of the physicians may be guided by the hand of God to discern the cause and apply the right remedy.

We view our God aright as the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, and therefore as our Father. He that has seen Christ has seen the Father, and the Father Himself loves you. He is not distant or dreadful to those who come through the Son, but a Father who pities His children and knows our frame. We pray that you and your father may know Him thus, as Abba, Father, in this trial, and find that His love is equal to His power to help. May He deal with you according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus, granting peace to your heart while you wait, strength to your father in his weakness, and comfort to all who love him.

We therefore pray, O Father, bless this afflicted one. Lay Thy healing hand upon his leg, cool the heat, remove the poison if poison there be, and restore the flesh. Preserve him from further harm, bless the means used for his recovery, and in Thy mercy bring him home again to his family. And above all, grant that this affliction may lead him to look to Christ, in whom alone is forgiveness and healing, for pardon and healing are joined together in Him. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus, our only Savior, to whom with the Father and the Holy Spirit be glory forever. Amen.
