We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up these urgent requests in the powerful name of Jesus Christ. First, we recognize that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and it is by His name alone that we are saved. As Acts 4:12 tells us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
For the meeting with the supervisors, we pray for wisdom, favor, and peace. Father, we ask that You grant this dear brother clarity of mind and confidence as he meets with his supervisors. Let Your presence be so evident that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We rebuke any spirit of fear or intimidation and declare that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). Lord, open doors that no man can shut and grant him favor in the eyes of those who hold his livelihood in their hands. May this meeting result in Your glory and the preservation of his job, so that he may continue to provide for his family.
We also lift up the loved one in the hospital. Heavenly Father, we ask for Your healing hand to rest upon them. You are the Great Physician, and we trust in Your power to restore health and strength. We declare that by Your stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we stand on this promise. Lord, comfort this family in their time of worry and uncertainty. Surround them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Guide the hands of the doctors and nurses, and let every treatment and decision be ordered by You. If it is Your will, bring complete healing and restoration, but above all, draw this family closer to You through this trial.
For the dire financial needs, we cry out to You, Jehovah Jireh, our Provider. You know every need before we even ask, and You have promised to supply all our needs according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). We rebuke the spirit of lack and declare that the Lord is our Shepherd, and we shall not want (Psalm 23:1). Open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing so great that there will not be room enough to receive it (Malachi 3:10). Give this family wisdom in managing their resources and provide opportunities for increase. Let them see Your hand moving in miraculous ways, so that their faith may be strengthened, and Your name glorified.
Lord, we also pray for unity and strength within this family. Trials can often bring strain, but we ask that You knit their hearts together in love and purpose. Help them to lean on one another and on You, trusting that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Let this season of hardship draw them closer to You and to each other, rather than pulling them apart.
We come against any spirit of discouragement, doubt, or despair that may be trying to take root in their hearts. We declare that the joy of the Lord is their strength (Nehemiah 8:10), and we pray that they would find hope and encouragement in Your promises. Remind them daily that You are with them, that You will never leave nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5), and that Your plans for them are plans for peace and not for evil, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).
Father, we ask that You would move mightily in each of these situations. Let Your will be done, and let Your name be exalted. We trust in You, knowing that You are faithful to Your word and that You hear the cries of Your children. Strengthen this family’s faith as they wait on You, and let them experience Your love and provision in tangible ways. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
