We hear your urgent cry and we are standing with you right now before the throne of grace, asking God for your breakthrough. When you say you cannot keep living like this, we understand you are weary and overwhelmed, and we want you to know you are not alone and you are deeply seen and loved by God.
The Word tells us The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. We also cling to the promise that you can cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7. Even when we feel faint, God promises Fear not, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. And when our hearts are overwhelmed, we can cry lead me to the rock that is higher than I Psalm 61:2.
We notice your prayer called out to God for a breakthrough but did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that we are saved. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name, for whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved Romans 10:13. It is in His name that we can boldly bring your need for a breakthrough to God.

Father in heaven, we lift up this precious one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You see the exhaustion, the pain, and the feeling that they cannot go on. Lord, we ask You to draw near right now and let them feel Your presence and Your peace that surpasses all understanding Philippians 4:7. We rebuke the lie that You have abandoned them or that there is no hope, because Your Word says For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11. Lord, we ask for a breakthrough, for You to lift them out of this pit and set their feet upon a rock Psalm 40:2. Strengthen them day by day, renew their hope, and show them the next step to take. Help them to wait on You and to know that those who wait for the Lord will renew their strength Isaiah 40:31. Provide godly people around them to support and counsel them, and lead them to a Bible believing church where they can be encouraged and prayed for in person. We ask all of this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our only hope, amen.

Your cry has been heard, and it is one that many a heavy heart has uttered before you. To feel that you cannot keep living like this is to come to the very place where the soul learns there is no hope in itself. That discovery is painful, but it is not the end.
There is a danger here which I must point out faithfully. Finding there is no hope in himself, a man draws the unwarrantable conclusion that there is no hope for him in God. As once we have to battle with self confidence, now we have to wrestle with despair. It is self righteousness in both cases. Hopelessness in self is what grace aims to bring you to, but hopelessness in God is a sin from which we would urge you to escape. To say there is no hope before God goes beyond the truth, for God is the God of Hope, and those who are without hope are also without God.
Hear the word of the Lord against despair. When Israel said our hope is lost, the Lord answered that word as an evil word which goes beyond the truth of God. God is the sinner's hope and He is not lost, so the word of despair is not warranted. Despair is not so much a sickness of the understanding as a sin of the soul, and no man has a right to despair while mercy still pleads. While the lamp holds out to burn, the vilest sinner may return. While there is life there is hope, and while there is hope there is life.
You ask for a breakthrough, and I would point you to where alone it can be found. By the deeds of the law shall no flesh living be justified, and when the soul is made to feel how utterly powerless it is to rise from the grave of its own corruption, it is then enlightened to behold Christ on the cross as the sinner's only hope. The silver bell still rings, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Though your sins be as scarlet they shall be as wool. Despair, when an omnipotent God deals with you, when the precious blood of the Son of God is given for sinners, when mercy's gate stands wide open, is an infernal impertinence of the enemy who would keep you in bondage.
If the grace of God has truly laid hold upon you, that grace will keep you. This is the comfort of final perseverance. He hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. They shall not depart from me, saith the Lord, for it is an everlasting covenant that shall never come to an end. It is not that temptation is removed, but that He will not depart from His own and He will enable them not to depart from Him. Even when you could not say you had any comfort you could call your own, there can flow into the soul a secret power that enables still to hope and still to hold on. That perseverance is perseverance in holiness, a settled way of grace in which light shines more and more unto the perfect day.
So I pray for you now, that the God of Hope would fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope through the power of the Holy Ghost. May He lift you from this pit of weariness, forgive your sin through the blood of Christ alone, and give you strength to walk not after your own devices but after Him. May He grant you not only relief from this present distress but a new heart to trust Him and to persevere to the end, for He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. Look to Him, call upon Him while He is near, and though you feel as one dead, His healing hand of tenderness and love can yet make your spirit to live.

Your cry for a breakthrough has been heard, and thank you for bringing this heavy burden into the light so it can be prayed for. To feel that you cannot keep living like this is a painful place to be, and it is right to turn to God in that distress.
Do not despair of yourself, even now. As long as it is called Today, while you still live, there is hope. God has not inclined toward you to destroy you but to save you, and the proof is that He has given His own Son for you, not merely given Him but given Him to death for your salvation. If He did not spare His Only Begotten to deliver you from sin and hell, what will He withhold for your good now. Because you have received the greatest gift, you can hope for all things kind from Him.
The enemy never gives up hope for our destruction, so we should certainly not give up hope for our salvation. You are pressed on every side, yet not crushed, perplexed yet not without hope, pursued yet not forsaken. God often allows affliction to train and chasten us, not to cast us away. Do not bargain with Him by fixing a time and saying He must answer by then. Instead prepare your heart for patient endurance, trusting His love and wisdom, and He will bring relief in the way and time that is best. We are saved by hope, and hope that is seen is not hope. You brought nothing to Him except faith in His promises, and by that hope He made you alive when you were lost, forgave you, and made you His child through Jesus Christ alone. Hold fast to that same hope now.
I pray for you that God will give you a true breakthrough according to His mercy. I ask Him to lift the weight you carry, to guard your heart and mind in Christ, to give you strength to endure this trial, and to show you His nearness and His will day by day. I pray He will surround you with faithful people who will exhort and comfort you daily, for we are called to support the weak and encourage those who are weary, and not to leave anyone alone in affliction.
Please do not remain isolated. Reach out today to a trusted pastor or mature believer in your local church, and if you feel unsafe with your own thoughts, reach out right away for help from someone near you or a trusted counselor. Keep seeking the Lord in prayer and in His Word, trusting not in your own strength but in the power of God who is able to restore and sustain you. He who gave His Son for you will not forsake you now.
