Urgent Prayer request

### (### years old) has been in the ICU for ### weeks waiting for a heart transplant. He is ### on the list and he breathes with the help of a helmet that provides oxygen. I ask for prayers and I thank you in advance for your attention. God bless you.

We join together with you in lifting up this precious young man in the ICU before the throne of grace, and we thank you for bringing his urgent need to us so we can stand with you in prayer. Our hearts are moved by his long wait these weeks for a heart transplant, his place on the list, and his need for help even to breathe through that oxygen helmet. We know how heavy and helpless this waiting can feel for you and for all who love him.

We are reminded that our God is the giver of life and breath and the One who heals. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. He is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. We cling to His promise when He says, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. Even as machines help him breathe, we remember that it is God who gives to all life and breath and all things Acts 17:25, and that every breath is in His hands.

We also want to gently share with you something precious about prayer. You asked for prayers and for God's blessing, but you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want you to know that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only through His name that we are saved. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead, we will be saved Romans 10:9. It is because Jesus died for our sins and rose again that we can come boldly to God with our requests, trusting He hears us. We pray you know Him as your Lord and Savior, and we bring this need to God in His name alone.

Together we pray.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we come before You and lift up this young man to You. You know him by name, You formed him, You know the number of his days, and You see him lying in that ICU bed waiting. Lord, have mercy on him. We ask that You would sustain his life, strengthen his heart and lungs, and let that oxygen helmet be effective to keep him stable until Your provision comes. Guide the hands and minds of the doctors and nurses caring for him, give them wisdom and skill. If it is Your will, we ask You to provide a suitable heart for transplant at the right time, and we pray for comfort for the family who would be involved in such a gift. Above all, we ask for Your perfect will to be done, for Your healing power to be displayed, whether through a transplant or through Your miraculous touch, for You are He who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases Psalm 103:3 and You have said, But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh Jeremiah 30:17. Bring peace that surpasses all understanding to his family and loved ones as they wait, guard their hearts, and help them to trust in You and not be afraid. Draw this young man close to You, let him feel Your presence near, and if he does not yet know Jesus, we pray he would call upon Him now and be saved. We ask all these things in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our hope and our healer, amen.

We will continue to keep him and you in our prayers, trusting the Lord to sustain him day by day and to show His power and love in this very difficult time.

We are holding you and your loved one in prayer as he waits in the ICU these past weeks. Watching someone you love breathe with a helmet and wait for a heart transplant is such a heavy, uncertain place to be, and we are grateful you reached out to let us pray with you.

Waiting like this wears on everyone who loves him. Days in the ICU can blur together, sleep and normal routines are disrupted, and it is understandable to feel helpless, exhausted, and on edge while the list moves slowly. Please be gentle with yourself in this stretch and let others help carry the load where they can.

If it is helpful, it can steady things a little to have one trusted family member or friend be the main contact with the care team for updates, so information stays clear and you are not holding every question alone. It also helps to let your pastor or a few close people know how to support you practically in the coming days, whether that is meals, rides, or simply sitting with you so you can rest.

We are praying for comfort and strength for him and for you, and for wisdom for the doctors and nurses caring for him.

Father, we lift this dear man to You and ask for Your mercy and presence with him in the ICU. Please sustain him, ease his breathing, and guide every decision made for his care. Comfort and strengthen those who love him as they wait, and draw near to them day by day. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so. Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your urgent cry has come before us and we have heard with heaviness of heart concerning this dear one who has waited these weeks in the ICU, second on the list for a new heart, breathing still only with the help of that helmet of oxygen. We take this burden upon our own hearts and carry it to the throne of grace.

There is a heart which should be tender, by which we perceive the presence of God, and there is a new heart which only the Holy Spirit can create. We are reminded of the prayer, Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. The old heart being put out of the question, there is a new heart produced by the Holy Spirit. And He who is able to give a new heart within is able also to sustain and to heal the frail heart of flesh. For it is written, He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds, and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. The least thing about Christ is healing. A word of His, coming home to the heart as His, brings healing to head and heart and conscience, and is a medicine fitted to raise the dead.

We know what it is to wait, for there is a waiting God and a waiting people. They are not waiting in despair, nor even in hesitation, they are waiting in hope, a joyous and assured hope of blessedness in reserve. The Lord waits that He may be gracious, and when the waiting turns to a glorious transaction of grace upon the heart, then the time of love has come. So we wait upon Him patiently for this afflicted one.

Let us pray together.

O Great Physician, whose Sun has risen with healing in His wings, look in mercy upon this sufferer. Thou knowest his frame, Thou numberest his breaths, Thou holdest his heart in Thy hand. Lay Thy pardoning and healing hand upon him. If it be Thy will, open the way for a new heart to be provided in due season, sustain his breathing, strengthen those who watch over him with skill and tenderness, and comfort those who love him and who wait with him in this long night. Above all, create in him a clean heart and renew a right spirit within him, that whether in life or in death he may behold Thee, for blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Give him and his family to know that healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction and both bestowed by Thee, and that to lie before Jesus in humble hope is never in vain. We ask this not as those who demand, but as those who trust Thy wise and loving will, through Jesus Christ our Lord, whose own heart was pierced that ours might be healed. Amen.

We will continue to bear you up before the Lord, and we pray He will grant you peace as you wait upon Him.
