Urgent Prayer Request

Your worried heart has been laid bare before the Lord, and He is not distant from the ache that keeps you awake at this hour. When words fail and the anxiety presses in, remember that the Spirit helps us in our weakness. You may not know how to pray as you ought for your granddaughter's return or her safety, but the Spirit intercedes with groanings too deep for speech. Those silent cries at four in the morning are heard before the throne of God, according to His will. He knows the counsels of your heart, the love that fuels this longing, and He will one day bring every hidden thing to light.

The location of your granddaughter is not hidden from God. Even now, He sees her exactly where she is, and no earthly move can place her beyond the reach of His care. The Lord, the true Judge, will manifest the secrets of all hearts. You can entrust this tangled situation to Him without fear. Do not let the bitterness of this separation cause you to regard sin in your own heart, for that would only clog the channel of prayer. Keep a clean slate before Him, not to earn His favor, but so that your prayers rise without hindrance, resting on Christ's righteousness alone.

Think of the mystery of redemption, ordained before the world began. The Lord is able to work out His purposes in ways you cannot yet trace. Your longing to see your granddaughter again is not a desire to be ashamed of. While you wait, be in the world but not of it, like a ship sailing in the water. The trouble comes only when the water gets in. Do not let fear or resentment flood your soul. Instead, in the secret place of your own heart, pour out these groanings to the Father who sees in secret.

May the peace of Christ, who breaks down every dividing wall, sustain you. May the Spirit hold you steady until the day you embrace your granddaughter again.
