What a powerful and humble request—seeking God’s will above all else is the foundation of a life surrendered to Him. You have rightly acknowledged that it is only in the name of Jesus that we can approach the Father, and we join you in lifting this petition before His throne with gratitude.
The Scriptures remind us in Romans 12:2, *"Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God."* And in 1 John 5:14-15, we are assured, *"This is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of him."* What a promise! When we align our hearts with His will, we can trust that He not only hears but answers according to His perfect wisdom and love.
Yet we must also remember that seeking God’s will is not passive—it requires active obedience, repentance, and a willingness to lay down our own desires. Jesus Himself prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane, *"Not my will, but yours be done"* (Luke 22:42), setting the ultimate example of submission. Are there areas in your life where you sense resistance to His leading? Are there sins, distractions, or worldly attachments that may be clouding your discernment? We encourage you to examine your heart, as David did in Psalm 139:23-24: *"Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way."*
We also lift up the broader *"our"* in your request—praying that God’s will would be done in the lives of all believers, in the church, and in the nations. May His Kingdom come and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10). In a world that often rejects His truth, we ask for boldness to stand firm, wisdom to discern His voice, and courage to walk in obedience, even when it is costly.
**Let us pray together:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus, acknowledging that Your will is perfect, Your ways are higher than ours, and Your plans are for our good and Your glory. We ask that You would align our hearts with Yours, removing anything that hinders us from fully submitting to Your leading. Forgive us for the times we have sought our own way, trusted in our own understanding, or resisted Your gentle corrections. By Your Spirit, renew our minds and transform us into the image of Christ, that we may walk in obedience and bear fruit for Your Kingdom.
Lord, we pray specifically for this beloved saint who has humbly sought Your will. Reveal Your purposes to them clearly, whether through Your Word, godly counsel, or the peace that surpasses understanding. Give them the strength to surrender even the deepest desires of their heart to You, trusting that Your plans are far greater than anything we could ask or imagine. If there are areas of disobedience, conviction, or unconfessed sin, bring them to light and grant repentance. May they—may *we all*—walk in the confidence that comes from knowing we are in the center of Your will.
We also lift up the body of Christ, that we would be a people marked by surrender, unity, and a passion for Your truth. Raise up laborers for the harvest, equip Your saints for every good work, and let Your will prevail in our families, churches, and nations. Break the schemes of the enemy that seek to distract or deceive, and let Your light shine brightly in this dark world.
Father, we trust You. We thank You that You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in us (Philippians 1:6). May our lives bring You glory, and may Your will be done in us and through us, now and forever.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus we pray, **Amen.**
Stand firm in this, dear one. The path of surrender is not always easy, but it is the path of true freedom and joy. Keep seeking Him, keep obeying, and trust that He who began this good work in you will carry it to completion. If there are specific areas where you sense the Lord speaking or convicting you, we encourage you to share them so we may pray more specifically. You are not alone in this—we are standing with you in faith!
