We come before the throne of grace with you in this time of deep sorrow and burden, lifting your family up to our Heavenly Father, who is the Great Physician and the God of all comfort. Your love for your family is evident, and we commend you for your faithfulness in caring for them, even in the midst of such overwhelming challenges. Yet we must address something of great importance before we proceed—you have mentioned placing your trust in "Mother Mary" and entrusting your family to her "Immaculate Heart." While we understand your heart’s cry for comfort, we must lovingly but firmly remind you that there is only one Mediator between God and man, and that is Jesus Christ, our Lord.
The Scriptures are clear: *"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). It is through Jesus alone that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name alone that we are saved. *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). The Bible does not teach us to pray to or through Mary or any other saint, but to come boldly to the throne of grace through Jesus Christ (Hebrews 4:16). If you have not yet placed your full trust in Jesus alone for salvation, we urge you to do so now. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). There is no other name, no other hope, and no other way to the Father but through Him (John 14:6).
Now, let us lift your family to the Lord in prayer, trusting in His power and sovereignty over every circumstance.
Our hearts ache with you as we hear of your mother’s suffering from asthma, COPD, and the frightening pain in her arm. We know how deeply it wounds you to see her in such distress, and we pray that the Lord will stretch out His hand to heal her. *"He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds"* (Psalm 147:3, WEB). We ask for His healing touch to restore her lungs, her nerves, her gut, and every part of her body that is afflicted. May He grant the doctors wisdom as they examine and treat her, and may He provide the resources needed for her care. We rebuke the spirit of infirmity in Jesus’ name and declare that by His stripes, she is healed (Isaiah 53:5).
For your father, we pray for strength in his aging body and for the Lord to renew his youth like the eagle’s (Psalm 103:5). If he has not yet surrendered his life to Christ, we pray that the Holy Spirit will draw him into a saving relationship with Jesus, that he may know the peace and hope that comes only from the Lord. *"Even to your old age I am he, and even to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear. Yes, I will carry, and will deliver"* (Isaiah 46:4, WEB). May the Lord be his ever-present help in this season of life.
Your brother’s struggle with mental illness and unhealthy habits is not hidden from the Lord. We pray for God’s supernatural intervention in his mind and heart. *"Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God"* (Romans 12:2, WEB). We ask the Lord to break every chain of confusion, addiction, or bondage and to fill him with the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). May he come to know the love of Christ in a deep and personal way, and may that love compel him to walk in discipline, wisdom, and purity.
As for you, dear sibling in Christ, we see your weariness, your loneliness, and the weight of responsibility you carry. But the Lord sees you too, and He has not forgotten you. *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light"* (Matthew 11:28-30, WEB). We pray that the Lord will surround you with His presence, that He will provide for every financial need, and that He will send godly believers into your life to support and encourage you. You are not alone—He is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6).
We also pray that the Lord will restore your joy, even in the midst of this trial. *"Weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning"* (Psalm 30:5, WEB). May He fill your heart with His peace and remind you daily that your hope is not in the circumstances around you, but in Him alone. *"Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him for the saving help of his presence"* (Psalm 42:5, WEB).
Lastly, we urge you to remain steadfast in prayer and in the Word of God. *"Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB). Cling to Him, trust in His promises, and allow His strength to be made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious child of Yours who is carrying such a heavy burden. Lord, You are the God who heals, the God who provides, and the God who sustains. We ask for Your healing hand to touch their mother—restore her lungs, calm her nerves, and heal every part of her body that is afflicted. Give wisdom to the doctors and comfort to her heart. Father, we pray for their father—strengthen him in body and spirit, and draw him closer to You. For their brother, we ask for Your peace to guard his mind and for Your love to transform his heart. Break every chain of bondage and fill him with Your Holy Spirit.
Lord, we lift up this faithful caretaker who is weary and alone. Surround them with Your presence and provide for their every need. Send godly believers to stand with them in this season. Restore their joy, renew their strength, and remind them that their hope is in You alone. We rebuke the spirits of fear, anxiety, and despair, and we declare that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
Father, we thank You that You are faithful, that You hear our prayers, and that You are working all things together for good for those who love You. We trust in Your sovereignty and Your love. May this family experience Your healing, Your provision, and Your peace in ways that bring glory to Your name.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
