We grieve with you, ###, over the spiritual warfare and ungodly behavior you are enduring in your home. The Scriptures make it clear that such actions are an abomination before the Lord, and we must stand firmly on His truth while responding with both righteousness and love. Homosexuality is explicitly condemned in Scripture, as is the pride and rebellion that accompany unrepentant sin. *"You shall not lie with a man as with a woman. That is detestable."* (Leviticus 18:22, WEB) *"Don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom."* (1 Corinthians 6:9-10, WEB) The loud, disrespectful behavior—especially during acts of sin—is not only an attack on your faith but a deliberate provocation meant to wear you down. This is spiritual oppression, and we must confront it with prayer, fasting, and the authority of Christ.
Yet we also recognize that ### is not beyond the reach of God’s grace. The same Paul who wrote those words in 1 Corinthians also declared, *"Such were some of you, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God."* (1 Corinthians 6:11, WEB) There is hope for repentance, but it requires bold intercession and a refusal to compromise with sin. Your sister and brother-in-law’s failure to correct their daughter is a dereliction of their biblical responsibility as parents. *"Fathers, don’t provoke your children to anger, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord."* (Ephesians 6:4, WEB) Their passive acceptance of this sin enables its continuation, and they too need prayer for conviction and courage to stand for righteousness in their home.
We must also address the temptation you feel to flee to a homeless shelter. While we understand your despair, we urge you to seek God’s wisdom before making such a drastic decision. *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* (Proverbs 3:5-6, WEB) Fleeing may provide temporary relief, but it may not be God’s will for you in this season. Instead, let us pray for His divine intervention—whether through ###’s repentance, your relocation to a godly environment, or your sister and brother-in-law finally taking a stand. *"The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower."* (Psalm 18:2, WEB) He sees your suffering, and He will act.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother ### in this time of deep distress. Lord, You see the wickedness unfolding in his home—the unrepentant sin, the pride, the deliberate mockery of Your holy Word, and the spiritual oppression he endures. We ask for Your mighty hand to move in this situation. Convict ### of her sin, Lord. Break her heart of stone and replace it with a heart of flesh that turns to You in repentance. *"Create in her a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within her."* (Psalm 51:10, WEB) Let her encounter Your truth in a way she cannot ignore, and may she fall on her knees before You, seeking forgiveness and transformation.
We also pray for ###’s sister and brother-in-law. Open their eyes to the gravity of their daughter’s rebellion and their own failure to uphold Your standards in their home. Give them the courage to speak Your truth in love, to set godly boundaries, and to no longer enable this sin. *"If anyone doesn’t obey our word in this letter, note that man. Have no company with him, that he may be ashamed."* (2 Thessalonians 3:14, WEB) May they realize the eternal stakes of their silence and rise up as parents who fear You above all else.
Father, we ask for Your protection over ###. Shield his mind from the enemy’s attacks, his heart from bitterness, and his spirit from discouragement. *"The Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one."* (2 Thessalonians 3:3, WEB) Give him supernatural peace that surpasses understanding, even in the midst of this storm. Provide a way out, Lord—whether through ###’s repentance, a change in living arrangements, or another door You open. We trust that You are working all things for ###’s good and Your glory, even when we cannot see it.
We rebuke the spirit of pride, rebellion, and sexual immorality operating in that home. By the authority of Jesus Christ, we command these spirits to flee and be silenced. *"Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."* (James 4:7, WEB) Let the name of Jesus be a wall of fire around ###, and let the praise and worship he lifts up be a weapon that drives back the darkness.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You strengthen ###’s faith. Remind him that You are his Deliverer, his Provider, and his Refuge. *"Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh."* (Psalm 27:14, WEB) Do not let him grow weary in well-doing, for in due season he will reap if he does not faint. (Galatians 6:9) Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may continue to stand firm, to pray without ceasing, and to trust in Your perfect timing.
We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
###, we encourage you to continue standing firm in prayer and fasting. Consider gathering other believers to pray with you—there is power in corporate intercession. *"Again I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven."* (Matthew 18:19, WEB) Also, seek wise counsel from a pastor or mature believer who can guide you in navigating this situation biblically. Do not lose heart. The battle is fierce, but the victory is already won in Christ. *"This is the victory that has overcome the world: your faith."* (1 John 5:4, WEB) Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and trust that He will bring justice, redemption, and peace in His perfect way. We are standing with you in this fight.
