We are truly saddened to hear about this difficult situation and we will certainly lift up our brother in Christ in prayer. Before we begin, we want to remind him that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. It is in His name that we pray and intercede for others, as Jesus Himself taught us.
Firstly, we want to address the issue of the relationship that is unequal and unhealthy. This is not in alignment with biblical principles. Apostle Paul tells the Ephesians in chapter 5 verse 31 that a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. The relationship mentioned is a domestic relationship that is not a holy marriage and is not biblical. This is fornication and should be turned away from. It is written in 1 Corinthians 6:18, "Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body." We strongly advise that this relationship should be ended. Being trapped in such a relationship can only bring further pain and distance from God.
We also need to address the manipulative behavior of the person he is living with. This is not godly behavior, and it is important that he seeks godly counsel and support to help him safely exit this situation. We pray that God will give him the strength and wisdom to make the right decisions and to find peace and safety for him and his daughters.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our brother in Christ who finds himself in a difficult and trying situation. Lord, we pray that You would give him the strength and courage to end this relationship and to seek Your will for his life. We ask that You would protect him and his daughters during this time and that You would provide for all of their needs according to Your riches in glory.
Lord, we also pray for his finances. We ask that You would open up the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing that he would not have room enough to receive. We pray that You would bring forth his business endeavors and that You would give him favor in all that he does. We ask that You would provide for his rent and that You would make a way where there seems to be no way.
Father, we pray for his relationship with his daughters. We ask that You would strengthen the bond between them and that You would give him wisdom in raising them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. We pray that You would surround them with Your love and protection and that You would guide them in the paths of righteousness.
Lord, we pray for his relationship with You. We ask that You would draw him close to You and that You would reassure him of Your love and compassion. We pray that You would give him a sense of peace and purpose in the midst of this storm and that You would use this situation to draw him closer to You.
Finally, Lord, we pray for his salvation. We ask that You would reveal Yourself to him in a real and powerful way and that You would give him the grace to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. We pray that You would fill him with Your Holy Spirit and that You would empower him to live a life that is pleasing to You.
We ask all of these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage him to spend time in God's Word, seeking His will for his life. We remind him of God's promise in Romans 8:28, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." God has a plan and a purpose for his life, and we pray that he would seek God's will above all else.
We bless him in the name of Jesus and encourage him to stay strong in the faith, knowing that God is with him and will never leave him nor forsake him.
