We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up Shane in this time of great need. Father God, we ask that You would be a very present help in his time of trouble. The psalmist declares, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble" (Psalm 46:1 WEB). Lord, we pray that Shane would feel Your nearness, Your protection, and Your provision in ways he has never experienced before.
Heavenly Father, we ask that You would intervene in Shane’s employment situation. If it is Your will, we pray that his job would be preserved, and that he would find favor with his employers. "The Lord makes poor, and makes rich. He brings low, and he lifts up" (1 Samuel 2:7 WEB). We trust that You are able to open doors no man can shut and provide opportunities where there seem to be none. Give Shane wisdom, strength, and perseverance in his work, and let him not grow weary in doing good.
Lord, we also pray for Shane’s physical needs, shelter, food, and safety. You have promised, "For the needy shall not always be forgotten, nor the hope of the poor perish forever" (Psalm 9:18 WEB). We ask that You would raise up godly people in his life who can offer practical help, encouragement, and friendship. Let him not be overlooked or forgotten, but let Your love be made tangible through the hands and feet of Your people.
Father, we must also lift up Shane’s spiritual condition. If he does not know You as his Lord and Savior, we pray that this season of hardship would draw him to the foot of the cross. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6 WEB). There is no other name by which we can be saved, no amount of good works, no other religion, no other path. Salvation is found in Christ alone. We pray that Shane would come to know Jesus as his Savior, that he would repent of his sins, and that he would be born again by the power of Your Holy Spirit. If he already knows You, we ask that You would deepen his faith and trust in You, even in the midst of uncertainty.
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness that may be trying to take hold of Shane’s heart. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10 WEB). We declare that Shane is not forgotten, he is not forsaken, and he is not without hope. Your Word says, "Those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing" (Psalm 34:10 WEB). We stand on that promise today.
We also pray for Shane’s family, whatever little support he has. Lord, soften hearts, mend broken relationships, and provide divine connections that will help bear his burdens. Let him not walk this road alone, but let him find community in the body of Christ.
Father, we ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is power in His name, power to save, to heal, to provide, and to restore. We trust You, Lord, to move mightily on Shane’s behalf. Give us, as Your people, the compassion and boldness to be Your hands and feet to him if You call us to do so. May Your will be done in Shane’s life, and may Your name be glorified through his story.
In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
