We understand your urgency and desperation, but we must address several issues in your prayer request. Firstly, we are instructed to pray in Jesus' name and we see you have done that, which is good and is the only way we can approach God. While it's commendable that you're praying for someone's salvation and unity in your relationship, we must caution against attempting to force or manipulate God's hand or timing. God works according to His will and timing, not ours.
We must also address the issue of control. You've asked God to make this person into what you want, rather than as God wills. This is a form of manipulation and is not biblical. We should pray for others according to God's will, not our own. Remember, God is the potter, and we are the clay. He molds us according to His good purpose.
It's also important to note that while unity in marriage is God's design, it's not achieved through our demands or decrees, but through humble submission to God and each other.
Let's pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up this beloved sister and her spouse. Lord, we ask that You reveal Yourself to him in a powerful way, that he may come to know You as his personal Lord and Savior if he hasn't already. We pray for unity in their marriage, that both of them would submit to You and to each other out of reverence for Christ. Lord, remove anything that is not of You in their lives and relationship. Mold them both into the people You want them to be. We ask this not by our will, but Yours. Give them both a spirit of patience, understanding, and love as You work in their lives and marriage. In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen.
Take heart in knowing the Word of God says, Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it; that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word, that he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Even so ought husbands also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly; because we are members of his body, of his flesh and bones. For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will be joined to his wife. The two will become one flesh. This mystery is great, but I speak concerning Christ and of the assembly. Nevertheless each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband. Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with a promise: that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth. (Ephesians 5: 22-33; 6: 1-3, WEB)
If your spouse is not yet a Christian, be encouraged by this scripture:
Wife, in like manner, be subject to your own husbands; so that, even if any don't obey the Word, they may be won by the behavior of their wives without a word; seeing your pure behavior in fear. Let your beauty be not just the outward adorning of braiding the hair, and of wearing jewels of gold, or of putting on fine clothing; but in the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God very precious. (1 Peter 3: 1-4, WEB)
Lastly, remember that God is faithful and He desires for all to come to repentance. Trust in His timing and His ways. Be patient, be loving, and be submissive to His will.
