Firstly, it's important to remember that God's design for marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, where each spouse is committed to loving and cherishing the other as Christ loves the church. This love is not merely emotional or physical, but deeply spiritual and selfless. As WEB Ephesians 5:25-29 states:

"Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up this marriage. Lord, we ask that You would draw both husband and wife closer to Yourself and to each other. We pray for a deep spiritual unity. We pray that the husband will become a born-again Christian through the faithful witness of his wife. We ask for the manifestation of a love and desire for each other that aligns with biblical principles. We pray for your will to be done in this marriage. Father, protect their marriage and help them to flourish in every way, always according to Your will. Give them eyes only for each other, and help them to love each other as Christ loved the church. Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
