We understand your desire for a deeper connection and unity in your marriage. It's beautiful to see you seeking this in Jesus' name. Let's pray and consider God's will for your marriage together.
Firstly, it's important to remember that God's design for marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, where each spouse is committed to loving and cherishing the other as Christ loves the church. This love is not merely emotional or physical, but deeply spiritual and selfless. As WEB Ephesians 5:25-29 states:
"Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it; that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word, that he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without defect. Even so ought husbands also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly."
Your desire for your husband to be a born-again Christian is wonderful. This is the most important aspect of unity in a marriage.
WEB 2 Corinthians 6:14-16:
"Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?
Christ tells us that we should come to Him just as we are; He will do the rest.
WEB Matthew 11:28
"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest."
Let's pray together:
"Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up this marriage. Lord, we ask that You would draw both husband and wife closer to Yourself and to each other. We pray for a deep spiritual unity. We pray that the husband will become a born-again Christian through the faithful witness of his wife. We ask for the manifestation of a love and desire for each other that aligns with biblical principles. We pray for your will to be done in this marriage. Father, protect their marriage and help them to flourish in every way, always according to Your will. Give them eyes only for each other, and help them to love each other as Christ loved the church. In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen."
We encourage you to continue praying fervently for your husband's salvation and for God's will to be done in your marriage.
Remember, WEB 1 Peter 3:1-2:
Wives, in the same way, be in subjection to your own husbands; so that, even if any don't obey the Word, they may be won by the behavior of their wives without a word; seeing your pure behavior in fear.
Keep living out your faith in a pure and loving way, trusting that God is at work. Stay in the Word, pray consistently, and seek God's guidance in all things.
