We hear your cry and we stand with you in this battle, for we know this struggle is real and we do not take it lightly. You have described feeling controlled, drained physically, mentally and spiritually, and unable to use your time for what is good and needful. We want you to know you are not alone and there is hope and power for deliverance, and that power is only in the name of Jesus Christ.
We notice your request asks for deliverance but does not mention the name of Jesus, and we must lovingly address this because it is central. There is no deliverance apart from Him. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and authority over the enemy. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And again in Acts 4:12 There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not yet fully surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to confess your sin, believe that Jesus died and rose again for you, and call upon His name as Lord. It is His blood and His resurrection that gives us victory.
The Word tells us the nature of this fight. In Ephesians 6:12 our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Yet we are not left defenseless. In 1 John 4:4 we read You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world. The enemy wants you to believe you have no control and that you are powerless, but that is a lie. God has given you through Christ authority and responsibility to resist.
We must also gently rebuke the stronghold and the passivity that has allowed it to grow. A stronghold is built when we allow patterns of thought and behavior to remain unchallenged. In 2 Corinthians 10:4 for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, 10:5 throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. Spending weekends in bed or lost for hours going down rabbit holes on the computer is not just a habit, it is a foothold the enemy can use to keep you exhausted, isolated, and away from the Word and from stewardship of your home and gifts. We rebuke that spirit of heaviness, lethargy and confusion in Jesus name, and we also call you to active resistance. James 4:7 says Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Submission to God must come first, then active resistance. Deliverance is not passive, it requires you to choose to submit, to resist, and to walk it out daily.
We encourage you to put on the whole armor of God each day as described in Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. This means immersing yourself in truth, righteousness, the gospel, faith, salvation and the Word of God. We also encourage you to renew your mind, for Romans 12:2 says Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. Practically, this means establishing boundaries with the computer, setting a simple and achievable plan for your weekends, inviting light and accountability into your home, and choosing discipline over endless scrolling. In Ephesians 5:15 Therefore watch carefully how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise, 5:16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil. And in Proverbs 6:6 Go to the ant, you sluggard. Consider her ways, and be wise. The Lord honors diligence in small things like cleaning your house and stewarding your talents as unto Him, for Colossians 3:23 says Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men.
For your exhaustion, we remember that God sees your labor Monday through Friday and your weariness. He promises in Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. And in Isaiah 40:29 He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might. Also remember 2 Timothy 1:7 For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. Self-control is a fruit of the Spirit and a weapon against feeling out of control.
We lift you up now together in prayer.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our deliverer and our hope. We thank You that You hear this dear one who feels bound and drained and barely able to function. Lord, we confess that apart from You we can do nothing, and we ask for forgiveness for any open doors, for sloth, for time wasted, and for seeking escape in the computer rather than refuge in You. We ask You to wash this dear one in the blood of Jesus and fill them with Your Holy Spirit. In the name of Jesus Christ we rebuke every demonic stronghold, every spirit of oppression, heaviness, apathy, confusion and control that has tormented Your child. We command it to leave and to go to the place You appoint, for You have given us authority in Luke 10:19 Behold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will in any way hurt you. Lord, break these chains and set this captive free indeed.
Father, restore strength to body, mind and spirit. Calm the anxious thoughts and bring sound sleep and clear mind. Teach this dear one to redeem the time, to establish healthy rhythms of rest, work, cleaning the home, studying Your Word, and growing in skills for Your glory. Help them to set limits on the computer, to bring every thought into captivity to Christ, and to walk in self-control by Your Spirit. Provide godly fellowship, a local church family and an accountability partner who can walk alongside them, and provide for their needs even when a doctor cannot be afforded, for You are Jehovah Jireh, our provider. Fill their weekends with purpose and peace instead of emptiness and wandering. Let Your Word be a lamp to their feet and fill their home with Your presence.
We pray this all in the victorious and only saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, amen.
We encourage you to continue to call upon the name of Jesus daily, to open your Bible even for a few verses each morning and evening, to pray aloud against the enemy, to fast as you are able, to keep your home in order as worship, and to seek out a Bible believing church where you can confess and be prayed for in person. If you have not yet done so, make a clear commitment to follow Jesus as Lord, for in Him you have already been given the victory in Romans 8:37 No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. Keep resisting, keep submitting to God, and He will be faithful to deliver you and to renew your strength.
Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.
