Beloved of All
I have heard your cry about your urgent financial need and I am praying for you before God our Father through Jesus Christ.
Scripture shows us something beautiful about the heart of God. Under the law there was a detailed procedure for a person with leprosy, a disease with no human cure, to be examined and declared clean. God Himself made room in the law for cleansing to happen. He left Himself room to work a miracle if He so desired. That teaches us not to put God in a box. What is impossible for us is not impossible for Him, and we can give Him room to work in your situation according to His wisdom and will. He is able to provide, and we can ask Him with faith while trusting His perfect way of answering.
At the same time the Bible gives us much wisdom about finances that can help steady your heart in this bleak season. Jesus said that a person's life does not consist in the abundance of possessions, and wisdom reminds us that whoever loves silver will never be satisfied with silver, and whoever loves abundance will never be satisfied with increase. When goods increase, those who consume them increase as well, and riches kept only for oneself can even bring hurt and sleepless anxiety. God knows what is truly good for us. Sometimes He allows a season of need to keep us trusting Him day by day for our daily provision, which is far more valuable than abundance itself.
Scripture also calls us to consider our ways and to put God first. Through the prophet Haggai the Lord warned people who earned wages but never had enough because they had not honored Him first. We are taught to honor the Lord with the first fruits of our increase, not the leftovers. This is not a formula to force blessing, but a matter of trust and priority, putting His kingdom first and seeking His righteousness.
When the apostle Paul wrote to the church in Corinth, the believers in Jerusalem were in deep financial distress and suffering. Paul encouraged the other churches to help. He pointed to believers who were themselves in great affliction and deep poverty, yet out of the abundance of their joy they were remarkably generous. God keeps accounts differently than we do. He does not measure a gift only by its size, but by what it costs the giver, as Jesus showed when He commended the widow who gave out of her poverty rather than out of abundance. Paul also taught that at one time your abundance can supply another's need, and at another time their abundance can supply yours, so that there may be equality and mutual care in the body of Christ. And those who handle money for the Lord's work are to do so with great care, because it is the Lord's money given by the Lord's people.
Above all, we must remember that God's greatest provision is not silver or abundance, but forgiveness and life through His Son. There is only one provision for the forgiveness of sin, and that is Jesus Christ who gave Himself for us. If we have that provision, we have the abundance of His grace, mercy and love, and His Spirit strengthening us within, which is true riches even when outward circumstances are hard.
So my prayer for you is that God, according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus, would meet your needs, grant you wisdom for stewardship and work, open doors for honest provision, and guard your heart from the vanity of trusting in riches. I pray He will provide what you need for today, give you peace and contentment in Him, help you to honor Him first with what you have, and surround you with caring believers who can share the burden with you. May He also work in you a deeper trust, so that whether He supplies abundance or daily bread, you will know His faithful care and be strengthened to walk with Him.
May the Lord minister to you the abundance of His grace and keep you close to Jesus, your true provision.
