Urgent Financial Need
We hear your cry for help in this time of financial distress, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting your burdens to the Lord who owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10). The weight of debt can feel crushing, but we serve a God who promises to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our brother/sister who is burdened by financial struggles and the weight of debt. Lord, You see their need and know the desires of their heart. We ask that You would open the windows of heaven and pour out Your provision in ways that only You can (Malachi 3:10). Naturally, we do not like being guided, but when we are pressed, we cry out for a guide. This is well, for haste is the author of a great deal of mischief. Bowing with submission to the will of God, by that very act we are furnished with unerring guidance.
There is a path set before you, one trodden by His love ere your foot steps upon it. You will be shown the path of life; it is a narrow track, clean contrary to the broad way, yet He will not let you go an unknown way. His wisdom is your guidance, His infinity your storehouse. He will precede you with the blessings of goodness, and He will stop up the path that would lead to ruin, just as the angel prevented Balaam with a drawn sword. This preventive goodness is a mercy beyond a fortune in gold.
It is time to seek the Lord with an urgent, present-tense faith. Not merely because of this pressing need, but because when we launch into any new stage, any desperate strait, it is high time to seek His face. You ask for the right people to be sent; an issue so favorable can only come from divine guidance, not human scheming. A favorable reply from heaven will enable you to execute what lies before you. Yet take heed: no matter how warily you walk, you may still be slandered, even by those who profess the faith. But as the first-born from the dead was shown the path of life, so He will show you, and afterward receive you to Glory. This is the sure result: in blissful confidence, even when all seems cold and clammy with the dewdrops of deathly anxiety, Christ’s human and Divine nature is alike for His people. His omniscience is your protection.
