We hear your distress and lift your concerns before the throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. First, we want to address the foundation of our prayers—it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself said, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you"* (John 16:23 WEB). There is no other name by which we can approach God or be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we encourage you to confess Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for *"if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9 WEB).
Now, let us bring your requests before the Lord with faith and trust in His provision.
Heavenly Father, we come before You as a body of believers, lifting up this dear one who is burdened with worry and physical discomfort. Lord, we ask that You intervene in the matter of the partial refund. You are a God of justice and fairness, and we trust that You will work all things together for good (Romans 8:28). We pray that eBay would act with integrity and grant the refund that is rightfully due. Calm this anxiety, Lord, and replace it with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
We also pray for healing over this sore throat. Father, Your Word declares that by Jesus’ stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we claim that healing now. We rebuke any spirit of infirmity in the name of Jesus and command this sickness to leave and not return. Strengthen this body, Lord, and restore health so that there may be no more pain or discomfort.
Father, we lift up the concern about the cab ride in bad weather. You are the God who commands the winds and the waves, and nothing is too difficult for You (Luke 8:25). We ask that You would either delay the need for this ride or provide safe travel conditions. Give wisdom to the drivers and peace to this heart as we trust in Your protection.
Lord, we also bring the concern about weight and appearance before You. While we know that our worth is found in You alone and not in our outward appearance (1 Samuel 16:7), we ask that You would grant discipline and self-control in eating and exercise. Help this one to honor You with their body, as it is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). We pray against any spirit of vanity or insecurity and ask that You would fill this heart with contentment and confidence in who You have created them to be. Teach us all to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing that all these things will be added unto us (Matthew 6:33).
We rebuke any spirit of fear, anxiety, or lack that may be trying to take root in this situation. The Bible tells us that *"God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). We declare that this one is not given over to fear but walks in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You grant restful sleep. Your Word says, *"When you lie down, you will not be afraid. Yes, you will lie down, and your sleep will be sweet"* (Proverbs 3:24 WEB). We pray that this one would find rest in You, casting all their cares upon You because You care for them (1 Peter 5:7).
We trust You, Father, to move in each of these situations. May this one grow in faith and see Your hand at work in every detail. In Jesus’ precious and powerful name, we pray. Amen.
