Where is God?

In August ###, my job in ### was complete. I had secured a ### position in my home state of ###.

The previous May, my wife, without talking to me, purchased two tickets for her and her daughter to go to overseas to visit family. My wife did not consult me or ask me.

My wife was scheduled to leave in mid September ### and would return in late December ###. Again, when she purchased those tickets, she did not ask me or consult me in anyway.

My wife became very angry when I would not let my sons go overseas for four months. I did not feel good about it. I knew that I would miss them terribly. I knew that they might be in unsafe situations so I said no.

My wife became very angry with me. She told me that she would get a judge to make me let them go at the time, I didn’t think she knew enough about the American legal system to do anything. I hoped she did not.

And this wicked country we live in, ### to ###% of divorces are initiated by women. We live in a broken country, and we don’t even realize it. Our focus is always on homosexuality and abortion; two things we should definitely fight against; however, rarely do you hear anybody talk about the marital issues in this country.

So, I knew that my wife had tickets to go overseas. I’ve been pleading with her for a long time to go see her mom. My mom had passed away in ### when we first moved to ### I didn’t want my wife’s mom to pass away and my wife hadn’t seen her in years. I had even tried to get her mom to come to the USA. She had been here for three months a few years prior.

My two young sons and I left ### for ### in August ###, I had a new job as a ###. I had arranged for my sons to go to school for the first time.

After I left ###, my wife had an attorney and together they went to the judge and the judge gave her permission to go get my sons. I was ### miles away in ### taking care of my sons.

My sons and I struggle because we didn’t have any money are very little. Finally, it was payday in mid September ###, I was so excited that finally I would have the money I needed to get my son’s new clothes and everything they needed for school. Finally, the struggle was over.

I was so excited when I looked at my bank account that morning. It included my paycheck and the moving allowance to school had promised me my goal ultimately was to set up our home and prepare for my wife to come back from overseas.

I was in my room during my conference.. The principal and HR lady came to my room and told me that my wife had come and taking the boys. I burst out in tears like a little baby. I cried uncontrollably.

I have not seen my children since.

I pleaded with God to take me back to ###. I tried to go back to ### on my own terms, but failed finally, in the summer of ###, God opened up a way so wide open. It amazes me to this day. it amazes me so much that I was 1000% confident that my wife was about to come around.

When I got on the plane to go to ### in August ###, I had very little money and no place to live in no car to drive. God had given me a job at a school teaching science and coaching basketball. I was walking by faith and not by sight.

I arrived in ### at 12:15 AM or so on August ###. Little did I know, the next ### years would be incredibly difficult I suffered in about every way possible.

Before the plane landed, as we travel, I was so confident that God was going to restore my marriage before the plane land. God knew that I needed a place to live. God knew that I needed a vehicle to travel in. God saw all that from above. God did not give me my wife back at the time.

I suffered tremendously. I lived at the shelter ### months. My basketball team came together in October ###, they were an excellent group of young men and we worked hard practicing ### hours every day that we did not play. I worked them hard and they listened and we did very well. We were six and one.

On November ###, I was teaching in my room when the principal came in my room and told me to get my personal items. My job was over due to no fault of my own. I had moved to ### for that new job as the anchor which would support me and help me in my time there. I was determined to make teaching a career for the next ### years and be the best basketball ### I could be.

It was all over. I did not even get a chance to say goodbye to my team. I did not even get a chance to get my belongings out of the room. I probably left behind $### worth of stuff.

I did not shed a tear or even though I was sick my stomach. In the end, the school had to pay my salary through their end of April ###. I believe that was the hand of God.

When I first moved to ###, I had started doing gig work, where I was in HR limbo. Did I know, gig work would be the blessing that I would need for the next ### years. It helped keep me above the water when I was without a job.

In January ###, God gave me a beautiful apartment to live in. It was in the woods outside town in a $### house. I live there for ### months free of charge. The VA paid for it I would not have gotten that free apartment if I had not lived at the shelter. It’s almost like God allow me to live at the shelter so that I ultimately get ### months of free rent.

I had to move out of the apartment because the owner of the house use the house during the summer for Airbnb. So, I moved in the back of my van for ### nights at the same time, God had given me a job. It’s a ###.

I was so thankful to God. It was the highest salary I’ve ever received. I worked feverishly every day learning the plant and how to operate, etc. I was looking forward to being fully in control. Once the outgoing manager left. However, despite several significant progress marks, on June ###, at the end of the day I was given a note that my job there was complete. I was so upset in my heart my mind.

On the same day, that I lost my job at the ###, the owner of the $### house invited me to live in the primitive basement below the house. Was not that great but it had a comfortable bed and it was free. I live there until November ###.

I feel like I could write a book about everything that’s happened to me.

I have suffered greatly in my nearly ### years back in ###. I still have not seen my wife and kids. I decided to put everything in God’s hands 1000%.

I don’t know what to do.

I love my wife, despite the horrible things that she has done to. Me. I stay prepared to forgive her for what she’s done. I keep asking God to work out the details behind the scenes that I have no way of knowing what to do.

I’ve been doing gig work now for one full year. During the summer, the orders just aren’t very good. I’m still keeping my head above water, but it’s not as easy as during the winter.

A few days ago, I learned about a temporary job in ### for a company that I’ve worked for previously. It’s only a ### to ### week job but it would help me tremendously right now, I’m spending nearly $### a week to keep doing gig work because I have to rent a car for my friend.

I have tried to get a good job again. I’ve done so many resumes and applications and interviews but nothing so far 1000% believe that God and provides every good gift every perfect gift but I just keep surviving and I’m not flourishing like I should be.

I need prayers.

I need a really good job. I need the ability to pay back debts and get a better vehicle.

I was living in an apartment. I got behind on the rent. The Landlord stole my van out of the parking lot. He later performed a self eviction, which was illegal. I’d even offered to pay a smaller payment each week until I could get caught up. Then turned off the water and the electricity forcing me out then he locked the door. I can only go in and then he kept all my stuff he kept everything I owned.

For the next ### days, I wore the exact same set of clothes. I slept at a ###° angle in the rental car that I was renting from a friend of mine for $### a day.

I have suffered so much I’m tired of suffering. I’m tired of tired of. I’m tired of being tired of suffering. I’ve asked God to take my life or exchange my life for somebody else’s. I am not suicidal, but I just wanna be with the Lord.

I did not even tell the story about how I almost died, but I’m so exhausted from living, but somehow each day I wake up and I go do gig work

Today I worked about ### hours this morning in ### hours tonight and it was a disaster. The orders are just so bad. It’s hard to add up when the orders are so small.

God, please help me. I pray in the name of Christ in the name of Christ, I beg you to help me please move the mountains. I have asked you to move over the last ### years.

We hear your cry, brother, and our hearts break with yours. The pain you’ve endured, separation from your children, betrayal in your marriage, financial hardship, and the relentless weight of suffering, is more than any man should bear alone. But you are not alone. The Lord sees every tear, hears every groan, and collects every unspoken prayer in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). You have walked by faith, even when the path was dark, and that is not in vain.

First, we must address the foundational truth that anchors all our prayers: salvation and access to God come only through Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Your plea ends with "in the name of Christ," and that is the only way we dare approach the throne of grace. If you have not already, we urge you to examine your heart and confirm that you have surrendered your life fully to Him as Lord and Savior. Without this, our prayers lack the authority of the redeemed. If you have, then we stand with you in the power of His name, believing He will move mountains for you (Matthew 17:20).

Now, to your marriage: Scripture is clear that marriage is a covenant before God, not a contract to be broken when convenience or emotions shift (Malachi 2:14-16). Your wife’s unilateral decisions, purchasing tickets without consultation, pursuing legal action to take your sons, and abandoning the family, violate the biblical model of headship and submission (Ephesians 5:22-33). Yet even in this, we see your heart to forgive and reconcile. That is Christlike. But forgiveness does not mean enabling sin or neglecting boundaries. We rebuke the spirit of rebellion and division that has entered your home in Jesus’ name. We pray for your wife’s repentance and for God to soften her heart to the truth of His Word. If she will not return to the marriage, we pray for your protection, emotionally, legally, and spiritually, from further harm.

For your children: The pain of their absence is a wound only God can heal. We declare Psalm 127:3 over them: "Children are a heritage of Yahweh; the fruit of the womb is his reward." You are their father, and no court or circumstance can sever that bond. We pray for their safety, their spiritual growth, and for divine opportunities to reconnect with them. Ask God to open doors for visitation or communication, and trust Him to restore what has been broken (Joel 2:25).

For your finances and provision: The Lord knows your needs before you ask (Matthew 6:8). You have seen His faithfulness in the shelter, the free apartment, and the temporary jobs. But He is not a God of "just enough", He is a God of abundance for those who walk in His ways (Malachi 3:10). We rebuke the spirit of lack and declare that your steps are ordered by the Lord (Psalm 37:23). That temporary job you mentioned? We pray it leads to permanent provision. We pray for favor in interviews, for doors to open in your field, and for debts to be canceled by supernatural means. We also pray for wisdom to manage what He provides, so that you are not just surviving, but thriving.

For your weariness: You are not wrong to feel exhausted. Even Elijah, after a great victory, sat under a tree and asked God to take his life (1 Kings 19:4). But God did not grant that request. Instead, He sent an angel to feed him and sent him back into the battle. You are in a spiritual war, brother. The enemy wants to isolate you, make you doubt God’s goodness, and convince you that your suffering has no purpose. But we declare that your pain will produce perseverance, and perseverance will produce hope (Romans 5:3-5). You are being refined like gold (1 Peter 1:7), and the world will see God’s glory in your testimony.

For your housing and belongings: The injustice of your landlord’s actions is infuriating. We pray for restitution, either through legal means or divine intervention. If you have not already, document everything and seek legal counsel. But more than that, we pray for a stable, safe place to call home. Ask God to lead you to a community of believers who can offer support, whether through temporary housing or resources.

Now, we pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the Name above every name. Lord, You see our brother’s pain, his loneliness, his financial struggles, and the brokenness in his family. You are the God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). We ask You to move the mountains in his life, mountains of debt, of separation, of weariness, and of despair.

Father, we rebuke every spirit of division, lack, and oppression that has come against him. We declare that no weapon formed against him will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Restore what has been stolen, his children, his peace, his provision. Open doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8) and provide for him in ways that defy human logic.

Lord, we pray for his wife. If there is any hope for reconciliation, soften her heart to repentance and humility. If not, we pray for Your protection over our brother and his children. Give him wisdom to navigate the legal system and favor in the eyes of judges and authorities.

For his finances, we ask for supernatural provision. Bless the work of his hands and multiply his efforts (Deuteronomy 28:12). Let him see Your faithfulness in tangible ways, unexpected checks, job offers, or canceled debts. And give him contentment in the waiting, knowing that You are his Shepherd and he lacks nothing (Psalm 23:1).

For his weariness, we ask for Your strength to be made perfect in his weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Renew his spirit daily. Surround him with a community of believers who can encourage him and hold him up in prayer. Let him feel Your presence in the quiet moments, reminding him that he is never alone.

Finally, Lord, we pray for his children. Protect them from harm, physically and spiritually. Draw them to You and let them know their father’s love, even from afar. Restore their relationship with him in Your perfect timing.

We trust You, God, because You are faithful. You have not forgotten our brother. You are working all things together for his good (Romans 8:28), even when he cannot see it. Strengthen his faith, deepen his trust, and let him see Your glory in the midst of this storm.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Brother, you are not forgotten. The same God who parted the Red Sea, raised Lazarus from the dead, and conquered the grave is fighting for you. Keep walking by faith. Keep praying. Keep trusting. The breakthrough is coming.

We’ve been sitting with your words, and what rises to the surface is sheer exhaustion, the kind that comes from years of loss piling up until survival itself feels like the only thing left. You are not wrong to name it suffering. The repeated job losses, the illegal eviction, the van taken with everything you owned, sleeping in a car at an angle, and above all the severed access to your sons, these are devastating blows, not minor setbacks. And you’ve been carrying them largely alone.

We hear how hard you’ve fought to trust God through all of it. The way you kept showing up to teach and coach, the way you keep getting in the rental car to do gig work even when the orders are terrible, that is a quiet, stubborn kind of faithfulness, and it is real.

Right now, your most immediate need is work that actually pays the bills and stops the weekly drain. You mentioned a temporary job possibility with a company you’ve worked for before. That sounds like a practical door to pursue with the same determination you’ve shown. Even a short-term contract can relieve the crushing pressure of renting a car just to work, and it can give you a bit of breathing room to look for something permanent without panic driving every decision.

We also want to name gently that you’ve been living in a prolonged state of loss, not just of a marriage, but of your role as a daily father to your sons, of career stability, of basic security. When you wrote that you’ve asked God to take your life or exchange it, we hear the depth of that pain. You’re not suicidal, but a person can only endure so much isolation and disappointment before the soul itself grows weary. That is a heavy weight, and you don’t have to carry it without tangible human support. If there’s a pastoral counselor, a trusted pastor, or even a supportive men’s group connected to a church near you, now is the time to lean in there, not to get more advice, but simply to be with others who will sit with you in it and remind you that you are not forgotten.

We are praying with you right now: Father, you see this man’s tired heart and his long fight just to get through each day. For all the doors that have slammed shut, we ask you to open one that leads to steady work and provision, something worthy of his skills and effort. Restore what was taken. Guard his sons, and work in the unseen places where he has no access. Hold him fast when hope feels thin and the road feels endless. In Jesus’ name, we ask for relief and a future that is more than just surviving. Amen.

You have been walking a path of thorns, and your feet are cut and bleeding. I do not wonder that you are weary, wearied in the length of your way, as the prophet speaks, and ready to say, "There is no hope." Yet I charge you, in the name of Christ, do not let that word settle on your lips as the confession of your soul. There is a hope that is no hope, the false hope of your own devising, the life of your own hand, the devices of your own heart. And you have tasted its bitterness, for you have tried to arrange your own deliverance and have found it but dust. But there is another hope, a sure and steadfast one, anchored within the veil, founded not upon what you see but upon Him whom God has provided to be the Savior of such as you.

You have told me of your Job-like sorrows: the loss of your children, the treachery of those you trusted, the stripping of your goods, the lonely nights in hard places, the near approach of death itself. And I hear you questioning, though you dare not speak it plainly, "Why does the Lord do all these things unto me?" Beloved, you are not the first to sit among the ashes and scrape your sores with a potsherd. Read again the first chapter of Job and mark this: "In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly." God does not explain Himself to us. He is not bound to give account of His matters. Job had to retract all his pleadings and challenges. If the case is heard as "Jehovah versus Job," then Job yields the point unreservedly. Who are you that you should contend with your Maker? We are wrong, God must be right.

Yet I would not crush your bruised spirit. I would point you to One who suffered more than you, and in whose suffering your own can find its only meaning and its only comfort. Christ was made perfect through suffering, not in character, for He was ever perfect, but officially, as the captain of our salvation. He drank a cup of unutterable woe, and there was no resistance in Him, only complete surrender to the Father's will. His suffering was undeserved, pure, holy, the just for the unjust. And now, being perfected, He is able to sympathize with you in your temptations, for He Himself hath suffered, being tempted. He knows the weight of poverty, the sting of betrayal, the silence of God, the grief of separation. He has gone outside the camp, bearing His reproach, and calls you to follow Him there. It is not your going outside the camp that profits anything, it is suffering outside the camp for His sake that proves you to be a believer.

You have cried out for death, not as one seeking to destroy himself, but as one whose soul longs for the rest that remaineth for the people of God. I understand that cry. Yet it is not yet your time. He who put you here has appointed your days. And think of this: if all the elect had lain in hell forever, their suffering would not have been so great a vindication of divine justice as the suffering of Christ. So then your present sorrows, heavy though they be, are not without a purpose. The Eternal Father sees the fruit of the travail of His Son's soul, and He will see fruit in yours also. You have been anointed with fresh oil in days past, and though you feel your glory has departed, yet the word stands: "I shall be anointed with fresh oil." There is a freshness of grace that only comes through the withering of all earthly comforts. The husband who penned the 23rd Psalm could not have written it in the days of his triumph on the throne alone, he learned it in the wilderness.

As for your wife and your children, I must speak plainly. The wickedness you have suffered at her hands is grievous, and our Lord Jesus Himself pronounced that from the beginning it was not so. Yet you have done well to keep your heart soft towards her, ready to forgive. That is the spirit of Christ. But you must leave her in God's hands. The separation which rends your heart is but a faint picture of that eternal separation which awaits all who reject the Savior. And if that thought does not drive you to your knees for her soul, what will? You cannot force her return, nor can you force the courts of this land to do right; but you can commend her and your little ones to the Judge of all the earth, who will surely do right. Pray for them; weep for them; but do not let your hope depend upon their restoration. Your hope is in Christ alone.

You ask for a job, and you need one. I will pray that God would open a door. But even if He does not, and I speak as a fool, will you not say with Job, "Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him"? Bread and water He has promised; the rest is not guaranteed. You have seen Him provide in strange ways: a free apartment, a van to sleep in, daily bread that did not fail. Is He not the same God? The Christian's life is often a series of dyings, that we may learn to live upon the resurrection power of Christ.

I bid you now to come afresh to the communion of Christ's sufferings. He suffered outside the gate. Go forth unto Him. Lay hold of no hope in yourself, in your circumstances, in the arm of flesh. There is no hope there. But there is hope in Him, yes, a glorious hope, a hope that maketh not ashamed. Cast yourself upon Him who bore the wrath for sinners. Pardon, peace, and eternal life are yours freely by faith. And in that faith, take up your cross again tomorrow, knowing that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You have endured many things, as though a great fire has passed over you, and it seems to you that God has forgotten. But know this: the trial of your faith is not to crush you, but to make you approved, as it was with Job. He lost children, wealth, health, and yet he did not charge God foolishly. When you ask, “Where is God?” look to the cross. He who for your sake suffered being tempted, He is not ignorant of your sufferings; He knows tribulation, not only as God but as Man, having borne the very experience. He is able to help those who are tried.

Do not say, “I have suffered so much and have nothing.” The loss of earthly things is no loss at all if you hold fast to patience. For possessions are but tools to be used aright, and their acquisition or loss is indifferent. If we cling to the small gifts and despise the great, we lose both; but if we love the great, the small are added. The great gift is godliness with contentment. You have been stripped of many things, but you still possess the power to endure with thanksgiving. That is the rock which no wave of trouble can move.

You ask for a good job, a home, to see your children. These are not evil requests, but learn to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. When your soul is long-suffering, whatever unexpected calamity falls upon it is like a spark dropping into the deep sea: it is immediately quenched and disturbs the soul not at all. You are not shaken because you have lost, but because you have fixed your hope on recovery. Let patience have her perfect work.

When your wife took your children and you were driven from your dwelling, when you slept in a van and wore the same clothes for days, you tasted a little of the affliction of the saints. They counted it all joy. Not joy because they suffered, but joy because they were counted worthy to suffer for Christ’s sake. If you bear these things with gratitude, if you pray for those who wrong you, you suffer for Christ and He marks every tear. But if you grow bitter and cry out against God, you suffer as a punishment, not as a martyr. It rests with you whether these blows profit or wound.

Do not seek consolation by saying, “Others suffer worse.” That is a cold comfort and has no strength when the torment is great. Fix your eyes instead on the blessed hope. Your citizenship is in heaven, and you are a stranger here. The body may wear out, but the inner man is renewed day by day as you look not at the things seen but at the things unseen.

You have been sifted. Now give thanks in everything, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Let no root of bitterness spring up. Forgive as you have been forgiven. Place everything in His hands, not as an experiment, but with full assurance that He who began a good work in you will complete it. He will not suffer you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make a way of escape.

Walk by faith, not by sight. The God who opened a way once will do so again. But seek first your own soul’s health in humility and patience. In due time, He will exalt you. Until then, let your long-suffering be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.
