Unwanted

We have heard your heart and the deep pain of feeling unwanted by most of your birth family including extended relatives, and we want to lift you up together before our Heavenly Father.

It is a heavy trauma to feel rejected by those who by God's design should have loved and protected you, and we grieve with you over that wound. Please know that even when family forsakes or fails to cherish you, you are not forgotten or unwanted by God. He saw you and formed you with purpose.

We are reminded of what Scripture says, When my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up Psalm 27:10. And Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb, Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you, Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands Isaiah 49:15-16. You were fearfully and wonderfully made Psalm 139:14, and For you formed my inmost being, you knit me together in my mother's womb Psalm 139:13. Before the foundation of the world He chose you Ephesians 1:4 and predestined you for adoption as children through Jesus Christ Ephesians 1:5. You have received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, Abba, Father Romans 8:15.

We also want to gently share something important with you since your request did not mention Jesus. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God and healing and salvation. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life, No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not yet done so, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. It is through His name we pray and find our true belonging.

The Lord longs to heal the brokenhearted and bind up your wounds Psalm 147:3. He is the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction 2 Corinthians 1:3-4. He has promised I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you Hebrews 13:5.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this dear one who has carried the trauma of being unwanted by birth family. Lord, You see every tear and every moment of rejection and loneliness. We ask that You pour out Your healing upon this wounded heart. Help them to know deeply that they are wanted, chosen, loved and engraved on Your hands. Replace the lies of rejection with the truth of Your adoption and unfailing love. Heal the memories that still cause pain and bring Your perfect peace that surpasses understanding. Give grace to forgive those family members who have caused hurt, even as You in Christ forgave us Ephesians 4:32, so that bitterness may not take root Hebrews 12:15. Surround this precious one with godly community and believers who will reflect Your family love, and help them to walk in their identity as Your beloved child. We ask for restored joy and wholeness in Christ. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring this pain to the Lord daily, to stay in His Word where He affirms your worth, and to seek fellowship with a Bible believing church where you can be nurtured as part of God's family. If the trauma feels overwhelming, seeking wise Christian counseling can also be a helpful step toward healing. Yahweh has loved you with an everlasting love Jeremiah 31:3 and nothing can separate you from His love in Christ Jesus Romans 8:38-39.

Thank you for trusting us with this painful part of your story. Feeling unwanted by most of your birth family, including extended relatives, cuts at the very place where love and belonging should be most secure. It makes sense this has left a lasting ache. Please know you are not overlooked here, and we do not take your request lightly.

We have found that wounds like this rarely heal in isolation. Having one or two consistent, safe people who listen well and show up over time can be a steady part of how God brings comfort and perspective. If you do not already have that, a gentle next step could be to reach out to a trusted pastor or a Christian counselor in your area and simply share what you shared here, asking if you might meet regularly. You do not need to have it all figured out to begin, just a willingness to not walk alone. Alongside prayer, that kind of ongoing support can help you process the hurt at a workable pace.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus name. You see the loneliness and the history of feeling unwanted, and You know every detail. We ask for Your nearness, for healing in the places that still feel raw, and for wisdom and kindness in each next decision. Provide safe community where they are genuinely welcomed and valued, and remind them day by day that they are wanted and loved by You. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

The pain of feeling unwanted by those who by nature should have cherished you is a deep and bitter wound, and we have heard your cry with much tenderness of heart. To be cast aside by birth family and extended relatives leaves the heart broken, and none but the Lord can fully know the weight of that sorrow.

Scripture speaks directly to such a wound, for it is written, He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. We very speedily care for bodily diseases, but this is a hurt of the soul which only the great Physician can cure. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the leaves, the little things as it were about Christ, are full of healing virtue. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and those healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before.

You are not forgotten before God. Though father and mother and kindred may forsake, the Lord will take you up and own you as one of His own family. When Jesus draws near to dwell with His people, healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction. He comes with healing in His wings, and what He begins He will carry on till the soul is without spot or wound. The healing point is contact with Christ Himself, for He took her by the hand and lifted her up, and there is healing in that touch still.

We will pray for you now and continue to bear you before the throne.

O Lord our God, we bring before Thee this wounded one who has felt the sting of being unwanted. Look in mercy upon this broken heart. Thou who healest the brokenhearted, bind up these wounds with bands of grace. Let the healing virtue that flows from Christ, our Head, descend upon this afflicted soul. Show in a powerful way that adoption into Thy family is sure and everlasting, and that to be received by Christ is to be wanted with an everlasting love. Give peace to troubled memories, quiet the spirits that have been crushed by disappointment, and let faith come by hearing Thy Word, till the heart knows itself beloved in the Beloved. Grant a full and real healing from Thine own hand, and cause this life to be made fresh and comely by Thy grace. In the name of Jesus our Healer we ask it. Amen.

Seek Him still in His Word and in prayer, for the healing power is present when Christ is taught and trusted. He will not despise a broken heart that looks to Him, and He is able to make you whole.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect, heal and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your pain in being unwanted by so many in your birth family, including extended relatives, has been heard, and I bring it before the Lord with you with deep compassion. To feel rejected by those who by nature should love and protect you is a heavy wound, and it is right to name it as trauma and to ask God for healing.

Scripture does not minimize this kind of sorrow. The Lord knows that family bonds can be broken, for He said that He came to bring a sword that would at times divide even households, so that loyalty to Him would be tested within the family itself. He also showed His design for family to be a source of affection and support, with father and mother and children and kindred joined together in love. When that design is fractured and you are left feeling unwanted, God does not turn away. The psalm says, though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me. The prophet says, can a mother forget her child, yet even if she does, I will not forget you. In Christ you are not unwanted. Through faith in Jesus Christ alone, God adopts you as His own child, not as a stranger but as a beloved son or daughter, and gives you a place in His household that no one can take away. Jesus Himself was despised and rejected by His own, so He understands your rejection from within.

Healing from such a wound is often not instant. Like medicine that must be applied again and again, the Word of God and His grace work over time to restore health to the soul. Do not be discouraged if the pain still rises after you have prayed. Keep bringing it to Him, keep hearing His promises, and let Him slowly replace the lie that you are unwanted with the truth that you are fully known, fully loved, and chosen in Christ.

I pray for you now.

Father in heaven, I lift up this dear one who carries the deep hurt of being unwanted by birth family and relatives. You see every tear and every memory, and You know the trauma that remains. I ask that You heal this wound by Your mercy. Pour out Your love and let this heart know with assurance that it is wanted and cherished by You. Through Jesus Christ Your Son, grant the spirit of adoption, so that fear and shame are replaced with peace and belonging. Comfort where there has been rejection, and mend what has been broken. Give grace to forgive as You have forgiven, not to excuse wrong, but to release bitterness and to walk in freedom. Provide faithful brothers and sisters in the church to be family in Christ, to show steadfast love and support. Guard this heart from believing it is without value, and root identity firmly in Your Word and Your promises. Bring complete healing in Your time, and let this life bear witness to Your restoring power. In the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior, Amen.

Continue to stay close to the Lord in prayer and in Scripture, and remain planted among faithful believers who can walk with you in love and truth. If the trauma feels overwhelming, seek wise and godly counsel in your church community as well. The Lord who receives you will not forsake the work He has begun in you.
