Unspokens

Your unspoken requests have been brought before the Lord and we are joining you in prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone is salvation.

We do not know the details you carry, but God does. Not even a sparrow falls without your Father knowing it, and the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Nothing you face is hidden from Him, and His providential care is over you even when you cannot see how He is working. He allows and orders all things according to what will profit each person most, and His love for you is greater than that of any earthly father.

Because His providence is perfect, we are called to trust Him whether we see His defense of our cause in the present or not, and not to put Him to the test by demanding proof of His power or His care. Instead we wait with hope, remembering that we are not to judge His goodness by present things alone. He has promised to raise us up at the last day, so if we do not see full deliverance or answers here, we do not despair, but look for what is to come and continue to seek Him faithfully.

We pray for you now that God, in His wisdom and grace, would work in every unspoken matter according to His perfect will. Where there is need, may He provide. Where there is suffering, may He grant patience and strength to despise the terrors of this life through confidence in Him. Where there is sin or confusion, may He grant repentance and bring every part of your life into joyful obedience to Christ and to His word, for His word teaches that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman and that sexual intimacy and living together belong within that covenant alone. May He lead you to love what He loves and to flee what harms the soul, and may He draw you ever closer to salvation and life in Jesus alone.

We also pray that He would give you both grace and the willingness to do your part, for we need both prayer and faithful action, and grace both to be forgiven and to walk in virtue. As members of one body we bear one another's burdens, and so we gladly share this burden with you before the Lord, asking Him to lighten your labor and to fulfill His good purposes in you.

Give place to His providence, give heed to virtue, and continue to seek Him daily in prayer and in the Scriptures. He who clothes the grass of the field and feeds the sparrows will not forsake those who trust in Him.

We are praying that you will know His peace, trust His care, and attain the good things He has promised in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Your unspoken requests are safe to bring before the Lord, because He already knows what lies on your heart even when you do not put it into words. There are times when prayer is not fully spoken out loud at all, but rises from the heart and mind, and the Spirit ministers comfort and assurance in that quiet communion.

Be encouraged that the heart of prayer is not to get our own wishes granted, but to see the Father's will accomplished. Jesus taught us to pray, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, and to close by remembering that the kingdom and the power and the glory belong to Him forever. That does not mean your personal needs do not matter. It is right and good to bring your own petitions to Him, for He invites His children to ask for strength, wisdom, guidance and help. He simply wants His purposes to be first.

Prayer has a full shape that we are wise to follow. It is worship, standing in awe of who God is and how great and generous He is. It is petition, bringing your own needs honestly to your Father. And it is intercession, reaching beyond yourself to bring the needs of others and of a hurting world before Him. None of these is complete without the others, and the real power that works behind the scenes in this world is often wrought through quiet, faithful intercession.

Remember also that prayer begins with relationship. If God is your Father through faith in Jesus Christ, you have open access to Him. Jesus is able to save completely and He lives to make intercession for His people. If that relationship has not yet been settled, the one prayer God most desires to hear is, God be merciful to me, a sinner, which opens the door to become His child. Through Jesus alone that relationship is established, and then prayer becomes living conversation with your Father, not vain repetition or many words to impress others. What matters is not length but earnestness and faith. The Scripture says the earnest, heartfelt prayer of a righteous person avails much, and that when two or three agree together concerning a matter, the Lord hears.

So we join our faith with yours now for these unspoken matters. We worship the Lord who created the heavens and the earth and who knows every detail of your life. We ask that His will be done in each of these situations, that He would grant what is truly best and conform your heart to His purposes. We petition Him to supply what you need, to give wisdom where there is uncertainty, strength where there is weakness, healing where there is sickness, and peace where there is turmoil. And we intercede, asking Him to work beyond what you can see, to draw you closer to Himself and to use even these burdens for His glory.

May you lift your heart to Him with confidence, trusting that He hears, that He cares, and that He will answer according to His perfect wisdom and love in Christ.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and for trusting us with your unspoken requests. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer even when the burdens are too deep or too personal to speak aloud. We take comfort in knowing that your heavenly Father knows what you need before you ask Him in Matthew 6:8 and that the Spirit Himself intercedes for us according to the will of God in Romans 8:26. We continue to lift up every unspoken need you carry before the throne of grace and we ask for His peace, wisdom, provision and answers to be evident in each situation and we pray that His perfect will be done in Jesus Name. If your requests have been answered, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your requests do not yet seem to have been answered, please post them again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.
