We lift up this unspoken request before the throne of grace, trusting that the Holy Spirit intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words, as Romans 8:26 tells us, "In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered." Father, we may not know the specifics of this burden, but You do. You search the hearts and minds of Your children, and nothing is hidden from Your sight.
Lord, we ask that You would move in power and mercy over this situation. If there is pain, bring healing. If there is confusion, bring clarity. If there is sin, bring conviction and repentance. If there is fear, replace it with Your perfect love that casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). We declare that no weapon formed against Your child will prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17).
We also take this moment to remind ourselves and all who read this that there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved except the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12). It is only through faith in Him—His death, burial, and resurrection—that we have access to the Father. If anyone reading this has not surrendered their life to Jesus, we urge you to do so today. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Salvation is found in no one else.
Father, we rebuke every spirit of despair, anxiety, or hopelessness that may be at work in this situation. We command every lying spirit to be silenced in the name of Jesus, for "the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds" (2 Corinthians 10:4). We stand on Your promises, knowing that You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in us (Philippians 1:6).
We pray for strength and perseverance for this dear one, that they would not grow weary in doing good, for in due season they will reap if they do not give up (Galatians 6:9). Surround them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). May they feel Your presence in a tangible way, knowing that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).
Lord, we also ask that You would reveal any area of their life that is not aligned with Your will. If there is unconfessed sin, bring it to light so that it may be dealt with in repentance and forgiveness. If there are relationships or habits that are drawing them away from You, give them the courage to walk away and seek Your best for their life. Your Word tells us that "bad company corrupts good character" (1 Corinthians 15:33), and we pray that this one would be surrounded by godly influences that point them toward You.
We declare that this situation is not too hard for You, Lord. You are the God who parts seas, raises the dead, and makes a way where there seems to be no way. We trust You to work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). May this trial refine and strengthen their faith, drawing them closer to You.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
