Silas
Beloved of All
Your unspoken request for your family has been received and we are bringing it before the Lord with you. Even though details have not been shared, God knows fully what is on your heart and what your family is facing. True prayer begins with Him, He knows all things from the beginning and He puts His desires within our hearts so that we can bring them back to Him.
We want to join with you in agreement in prayer. Jesus said that if two or three agree on earth concerning anything, it shall be done. Scripture also teaches that the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous person avails much. That kind of prayer is not casual or careless, but earnest and from the heart, often rising out of deep need. Elijah was given as an example of this, a man whose earnest prayer was heard and answered. It is not the length of a prayer or many repetitions that makes it effective, for the prayers recorded in the Bible are short. What matters is earnestness and faith.
Prayer rests on relationship. Through Jesus Christ we can come to God as Father, and that relationship opens the door to real prayer. Apart from that relationship, the one prayer God desires to hear is, God be merciful to me a sinner, which establishes us as His children and opens this wonderful privilege.
The purpose of prayer is not to make God do our will, but to see His will done. Jesus gave a model for prayer, not to be repeated word for word without thought, but to show its pattern. It begins with worship, honoring the Father and His name, then moves to seeking His kingdom and His will on earth as it is in heaven, and then brings our own personal petitions. It closes by acknowledging that the kingdom and the power and the glory belong to Him. In this way prayer takes three forms, worship in awe of who He is, petition for our own needs, and intercession for the needs of others. More is accomplished through intercession than we will ever see, for it is a real spiritual help and a way we consent to let God do what He already desires to do.
So we are praying for you and your family that the Father would be glorified, that His will would be done in every situation you are carrying, and that He would supply what is needed according to His wisdom and love. We ask that He would bring comfort and assurance to your hearts by His Spirit as you seek Him, and that He would give strength, guidance and provision for each family need. We trust Him to work in ways that bring joy as you see Him answer, for there is fullness of joy in walking with Him in prayer.
Continue to bring your family before Him, trusting that He hears and that He is willing to give both for physical and spiritual needs as you look to Him for all things.
