Thank you for sharing your unspoken request for your family. Even though the details remain unspoken, God knows them fully, and we count it a privilege to join with you in prayer and to agree together before the Father concerning these needs.
Scripture reminds us that the earnest, heartfelt prayer of a righteous person accomplishes much. It is not the length of our words or trying to inform God of something He does not already know that makes prayer effective, but coming with sincerity and faith from the heart, often out of deep need and dependence on Him. Jesus taught that when two or three agree on earth concerning anything, it shall be done, and we stand with you in that agreement, trusting the Lord to hear.
Prayer begins with relationship. Through Jesus Christ alone we have access to call God our Father, and that relationship opens the way for real prayer. Apart from that, the only prayer God seeks is, God be merciful to me, a sinner. Once we are His children, prayer is not a way to get our own wishes fulfilled, but a way to consent to what God already desires to do and to see His will accomplished. He puts His purposes on our hearts and we return them to Him as prayer, which then allows Him to work.
Jesus gave a pattern for prayer, not words to repeat without thought, but a structure. It begins with worship, recognizing who God is, the Creator of heaven and earth, holy and glorious. Then it seeks His kingdom and His will first, above our own concerns, praying that His will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Only then does it bring our personal petitions, trusting that He knows our needs and is willing to provide for them. In this way prayer includes worship, petition for our own needs, and intercession for the needs of others, and your family is now part of that intercession.
So we pray with you now. Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done in this family as it is in heaven. You see every unspoken need, every burden, every concern that has not been put into words. We ask that You would work according to Your perfect will, bringing strength, wisdom, peace, healing and provision as You know is best. Draw each one closer to Yourself through Jesus Christ, comfort those who are hurting, guide those who need direction, and let Your power and glory be seen in their lives. We ask this in the name of Jesus, trusting Your faithfulness.
May the Lord give you joy as you continue to spend time with Him in prayer and to see His hand at work. More is accomplished through prayer than we will ever fully know, and He is faithful to hear and to answer according to His love and wisdom. Keep looking to Him for all things.
