Unspoken prayer

Your unspoken request for your family has been heard, and we join you in bringing it before the Lord who already knows every need you carry in your heart.

God does not need our prayers to know what we lack, yet He invites us to pray continually, soberly and with watchfulness, so that we may draw near to Him and learn to trust Him more. Prayer is a great weapon and an unshaken tower, and we are taught to join prayer with faithful obedience, offering our part while depending wholly on His grace. Even when we cannot put a need into words, He who created us, who breathed life into us and crowned us with honor, sees and understands, and He is merciful to all who call upon Him.

So we pray for you and your family now. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, through whom alone we have salvation and access to Your throne, we lift up this family and every unspoken need within it. You know what is spoken and what is kept silent. Grant wisdom, provision, protection, and peace according to Your will. Strengthen faith where there is weakness, bring healing where there is hurt, restore what is broken, and help each member to walk in obedience and love before You. Pour out Your grace upon this household, for without Your grace we can do nothing, and keep them close to You day by day.

Continue to seek Him without ceasing, trusting that He hears and will answer according to His perfect goodness. May the Lord comfort you, sustain your family, and let His will be done in all things. Amen.

Thank you for trusting us with this unspoken need for your family. God knows what you have not spoken aloud. He knows the details, the burdens and the hopes you carry for your loved ones, and He invites you to bring them to Him as Father.

We are joining with you in prayer and agreeing together for your family, remembering the promise of Jesus that when two or three agree on earth concerning anything, it shall be done. There is real power when God's people pray together in His name.

Scripture teaches that the earnest, heartfelt prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. It is not the length of words or the amount of time spent that makes prayer valid, but the earnestness and faith from the heart, often rising out of deep need. James points to Elijah as an example of this kind of praying, and to Job as an example of patience while waiting on God.

Prayer is at its heart a matter of relationship. Through faith in Jesus Christ alone you can come to God as your Father, and that relationship opens the door to true prayer. If that relationship is not yet yours, the one prayer God desires to hear first is, God be merciful to me, a sinner. Through Jesus that relationship is established and you can come with confidence.

The purpose of prayer is not to get our own wishes fulfilled, but to see God's will accomplished. Jesus taught us to pray, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, and He gave us a pattern for prayer that begins and ends with God. It begins with worship, honoring the Father and His greatness. It continues with petition, bringing our own needs before Him, for He is willing to provide for both physical and spiritual needs. It also includes intercession, bringing the needs of others before Him. It then returns to God in surrender, for Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. In this way prayer moves in a circle, starting with God making His desires known to our hearts, we speak them back to Him, and He answers.

Jesus Himself, though He was the Son of God, continually resorted to prayer for strength and guidance. How much more do we need it. Let prayer be your first resort and not your last, and let it be joined with wise and faithful steps as you walk through these family matters. Prayer opens the door for God to do what He already desires to do.

We are praying for you and your family now, that God would be glorified in your home, that His will would be done, that He would provide for every need, bring peace and unity, draw each heart closer to Jesus, and give you wisdom and strength for each day. We trust the Holy Spirit to help us pray according to the will of God, and we look with joy to see how the Father will answer.

May the Lord keep you and your family in His care and give you assurance that He hears and will answer according to His perfect love and wisdom in Christ. Amen.
