Unspoken prayer request 🙏

Thank you for sharing this unspoken request. You do not need to find perfect words or explain every detail for God to understand. Your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. Prayer is not giving God information He lacks, because He already knows everything that is weighing on you. It is simply opening your heart honestly before Him and inviting Him to work.

What matters most to God as you come to Him is the condition of your heart. People look at outward appearances, but the Lord looks at the heart. He sees not only actions but motives and attitudes, and He weighs what is in the heart even more than what is done outwardly. That is why the psalmist prayed, search me, O God, and know my heart, try me and know my thoughts, and see if there is any wicked way in me. It is a good prayer to pray now, asking Him to reveal what is in your heart and to create in you a clean and pure heart, for Jesus said the pure in heart shall see God. You may not be able to do everything your heart desires to do for Him, but He counts the desire of a sincere heart.

Prayer was never meant to be a way to get our own wishes granted on earth. True prayer begins with God and His purpose and plan, and it is a means by which we cooperate with Him to see His will done. Every good thing He gives was already in His purpose to give before we ever asked, and He knows what you will need not only today but months and years from now. His chief concern is your eternal good. So the most powerful way to pray for this unspoken need is to seek His will above your own and to open the door for Him to do what He desires to do in your life.

Scripture teaches that God does hear the prayer of a sinner when it is the cry, God be merciful to me, a sinner. Thank God He hears that prayer and cleanses us through the blood of Jesus Christ, so that even when we stumble, if our heart is toward Him He does not hold our iniquity against us. Yet the psalm also says, if I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me. If we hold onto sin and cherish it, our prayers are hindered. As you bring this unspoken burden, it is right to ask Him to show you anything that needs to be confessed and forsaken, so that you come with a whole heart.

Do not worry about having the right physical posture or the right eloquent words. Whether you stand, kneel, sit, or lie prostrate, whether you pray aloud or only in your heart and mind without uttering a sound, God hears. What counts is the posture of your heart toward Him. Prayer is just sharing your heart with Him with complete honesty about your troubles, and often while you pray His Spirit ministers comfort and assurance even before the answer comes.

God does answer prayer. That is our confidence. At the same time, we all have seasons when we cry out and the problem persists and it seems as though nothing has happened. In those moments our tendency is to blame God, rather than to examine our own prayer and our own heart. Remember that His purposes stand and no one can resist Him. He is sovereign and He allows testing not so He can learn what is in our heart, for He already knows, but so we can see what is there. Trust Him to answer according to His wisdom and love, which are deeper than we can fully know.

I am praying for you now, that you would know by experience the depth and length of the love of God for you, that He would deal bountifully with you, create in you a clean heart, and work in this unspoken situation for your eternal good and according to His perfect will. May He grant you peace as you share your heart with Him, and may you seek Him with your whole heart and not wander from His word.
