Thank you for sharing this need and for asking for prayer for you and your spouse. God knows the details behind what you have left unspoken, and He invites you to bring every burden directly to Him.
I am praying that the Lord will strengthen your marriage according to His design. Scripture teaches that marriage is two becoming one flesh, a profound unity where two lives are joined into one. That oneness reflects something of who God Himself is, for the word used when Scripture says the Lord our God is one speaks of a compound unity. In marriage God joins a man and a woman in a lifelong covenant, and He intends that union to be a place of faithfulness, love and growing together in Him. My prayer is that whatever you are facing, He will deepen that oneness between you, help you to love and serve one another well, and make your home centered on Christ.
I am also praying with resurrection hope in view. Jesus taught that in this life marriage is a gift for our time here, but when the dead rise they will neither marry nor be given in marriage but will be like the angels in heaven. He affirmed that God is the God of the living, not the dead, pointing back to what Moses heard when God called Himself the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. That means your greatest hope as a couple is not only help for today but eternal life together with the Lord. Whatever trial or decision weighs on you now, God can use it to draw you both closer to Himself and to the certainty that those who belong to Jesus will live with Him forever.
You do not need to go through anyone else to be heard. There is one God and one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus. Because of what Jesus has done, the way is open for you to come boldly and directly to the throne of grace yourselves. You can bring these unspoken requests straight to Him with confidence that He hears, He understands, and He will answer according to His wisdom and love.
Father, I lift this husband and wife to You. You know the unspoken matters on their hearts even when they have not put them into words. I ask that You work in each of them through faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation and for daily grace. If there is any area where their lives or their marriage is not aligned with Your Word, bring conviction, repentance and healing. If there is sickness, stress, conflict, temptation or need, bring Your provision and peace. Make their marriage strong in love, purity and truth as You designed it to be, one man and one woman in a lifelong covenant, and help them to seek You first together. Draw them nearer to Jesus, our only mediator, and answer these requests for Your glory and their good. In Jesus name, amen.
