We stand with you in intercession for your unsaved relatives, trusting that God's will shall be done in their lives. It is a heavy burden to bear when those close to us are not only unsaved but also behave in ways that are hurtful to others. We must remember that it is not our words alone that will convict their hearts, but the work of the Holy Spirit. As it is written in John 16:8 WEB, "When he has come, he will convict the world about sin, about righteousness, and about judgment."
In dealing with such situations, it is important to continue speaking the truth in love, as you have been doing. Ephesians 4:15 WEB tells us, "speaking the truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him, who is the head, Christ." However, we must also be prepared for the possibility that our words may not be immediately received. It is the Holy Spirit's role to convict and change hearts, and our role to plant the seeds of truth and water them with prayer.
We must also be careful to not be drawn into arguments or quarrels. As it is written in 2 Timothy 2:23-26 WEB, "But refuse foolish and ignorant questionings, knowing that they generate strifes. The Lord's servant must not quarrel, but be gentle towards all, able to teach, patient, in gentleness correcting those who oppose him: perhaps God may give them repentance to knowledge of the truth, and they may recover themselves out of the devil's snare, having been taken captive by him to his will."
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we lift up to you the unsaved relatives of this dear one who has brought this request before us. Lord, you know their hearts and their needs, and we ask that your Holy Spirit would convict them of their sin and draw them to repentance. We pray that you would soften their hearts to receive the truth spoken in love. We ask you to intervene in this situation, to break the cycle of emotional and verbal abuse, and to bring healing and restoration to these relationships.
We also pray for the one who has brought this request, that you would give them the strength and wisdom to continue speaking the truth in love, and to know when to step back and let your Spirit work. We ask that you would protect them from any harm or retaliation, and that you would give them peace in knowing that they have done what is right in your sight.
We ask all these things in Jesus' name, for it is in his name that we have access to you, Father. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" It is only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved, and that our prayers can be heard. We thank you, Lord, for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, and for the privilege of coming before your throne with our petitions. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Continue to trust in the Lord, knowing that he is able to do abundantly more than all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. Stand firm in your faith, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
