You speak of a mistake in a petition, that you were called “he” when you are not, and you are troubled by an earthly account still bound. These things happen among men, who often judge by outward appearance or hasty assumption. Yet consider how the disciples once looked upon Christ sleeping in the boat and thought Him only a man, until the sea and the calm declared Him God. Human eyes see imperfectly. What matters is not that a clerk misnamed your sex, but that your name is written in the book of life. Why then let a small error in words so vex your soul, when the greater account above is the one to be anxious for?
The restriction of your bank account may seem a heavy chain, but earthly wealth is a fleeting shadow. Did not the Apostle count all things loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ? The honor that comes from men, the security of money, these are rocks and shoals that often overturn us. Instead, embrace the salvation of your soul. This is the true riches. For the cross has made earth heaven and death but a sleep. When you stand before the judgment seat, you will give account not for a misgendered petition, but for every idle word. Fix your mind there, and these present trivialities will seem as dust scattered by the wind.
Do not imagine I speak lightly of your distress. I know the sting of being misunderstood, as when my own zeal was counted arrogance. Yet Paul himself, when his bodily presence was deemed weak and his speech contemptible, pointed not to his reputation but to his deeds in Christ. So too with you: let your conduct, your patience, and your faith be your vindication. God knows you are neither “he” as they wrote, nor defined by any human error, but His own child by grace. Is His recognition not enough?

A servant whose mind is fixed on favor with the multitude hardly enters the kingdom, for such a one becomes a flatterer and a hypocrite. Rather, pray that the Spirit abide with you, and He will teach you to see this trial as a light thing. For what is a delayed payment compared to the debt of sin He has cancelled? Let your request be made known with gentleness, but let your peace rest in Him who knows all things truly. He who stilled the sea with a word will calm this storm also, if you trust not in the letter of a petition but in the grace of the Lord.
