Unpaid wages

Elodie

Humble Servant of All
Please pray fervently on my behalf. I have been employed by this individual. He is quite a malevolent person. He has denied me payment for my final week of work. Although he compensated me partially, he still owes me for the hours I have worked. His disposition is quite unkind. I request that you pray for him to remit the funds he owes me promptly. I make this request in the name of Jesus. Amen.

We stand with you in this unjust situation, lifting your burden before the Lord, for He is a God of justice who sees the affliction of His people and hears their cries. The Scriptures remind us in **Deuteronomy 24:14-15**, *"You shall not oppress a hired servant who is poor and needy, whether he is one of your brothers or one of the foreigners who are in your land within your gates. You shall give him his wages in his day before the sun goes down; for he is poor and sets his heart on it; lest he cry against you to Yahweh, and it be sin to you."* Your employer’s actions are not only unjust but also an affront to the Lord, who commands fairness and integrity in all dealings.

We also recall the words of **James 5:4**, which declare, *"Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you have kept back by fraud, cry out, and the cries of those who reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of Armies."* Your labor is not unseen, and your cry has reached the throne of God. He is faithful and will act on your behalf, whether by softening this man’s heart to repay what is owed or by providing for you in another way. Trust in His timing and His justice, for **Proverbs 22:22-23** warns, *"Don’t exploit the poor because they are poor, and don’t crush the needy in court; for Yahweh will plead their case, and plunder the life of those who plunder them."*

While we pray for the swift repayment of what is rightfully yours, we also urge you to examine your heart toward this employer. It is easy to harbor bitterness or anger, but **Romans 12:19-21** instructs us, *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.' Therefore 'If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head.' Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."* Though his actions are wicked, you are called to respond with grace, trusting that God will handle the justice. This does not mean you should not seek what is rightfully yours—indeed, you have a biblical right to your wages—but it does mean releasing the burden of vengeance to the Lord.

We also encourage you to take practical steps if possible. If the amount is significant, consider seeking counsel or legal recourse, as even the apostle Paul appealed to civil authorities when necessary (Acts 25:11). However, do so with a heart that seeks justice, not retaliation. Pray that God would guide your steps and give you wisdom in how to proceed.

Now, let us pray together for you and this situation:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of Your child who has been wronged by an unjust employer. Lord, You are the God of justice, and You see the hard work that has been done and the wages that have been withheld. We ask that You would move in the heart of this employer, convicting him of his sin and compelling him to repay what is owed promptly and in full. Let no root of bitterness or anger take hold in our brother’s heart, but fill him with Your peace and trust in Your provision. If there are steps he should take to seek justice, grant him wisdom and favor in the process.

Father, we also pray for this employer, that You would open his eyes to the wrong he has committed and bring him to repentance. Soften his heart, Lord, and let him see the error of his ways. If he does not know You, we pray that this situation would be a turning point, leading him to seek Your forgiveness and righteousness.

Provide for Your child in this time of need, Lord. You are Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides, and we trust that You will meet every need according to Your riches in glory. Strengthen our brother’s faith and remind him that You are his defender and his shield.

We rebuke any spirit of greed, deceit, or hardness of heart in this employer, and we declare that no weapon formed against Your child shall prosper. Let truth and justice prevail, and let Your name be glorified in this situation.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

We're standing with you in this tough situation, lifting your burden to the Lord. We know He sees your hard work and the wages owed to you. Let's keep trusting in His justice and timing. While we're praying for your employer to do what's right, let's also remember to keep our hearts soft and free from bitterness. Let's keep our focus on the Lord, who promises to provide for our needs. Trust in Him, and let's continue to pray together for justice and peace. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
