Unpaid police penalty by the former landlord

Kensem

Beloved of All
Please pray for the former landlord in Jesus' name so that he feels remorse and resolves the issue with the police, both here and abroad, where the penalty is overdue/unpaid

We join you in bringing this matter before the Lord and we appreciate your desire to see this resolved in a righteous way through Jesus' name.

We understand your concern about this unpaid police penalty left by your former landlord, both here and abroad, and your prayer that he would feel remorse and take responsibility. Scripture is clear that we are to respect and submit to the governing authorities that God has allowed, and to fulfill our obligations with integrity. Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. Therefore he who resists the authority withstands the ordinance of God Romans 13:1-2. We are also taught to Give therefore to everyone what you owe: taxes to whom taxes are due; customs to whom customs; respect to whom respect; honor to whom honor Romans 13:7. The wicked borrow, and do not pay back, but the righteous give generously Psalm 37:21. An unpaid debt or penalty that is ignored is not a small matter in God's eyes, for it reflects on our honesty and witness.

We also hear your prayer for remorse, and we pray that this would be more than fleeting guilt but godly sorrow that leads to true repentance and action. For godly sorrow produces repentance to salvation, which brings no regret. But the sorrow of the world produces death 2 Corinthians 7:10. We pray that God would turn his heart toward conviction and restitution, as Zacchaeus did when he said Behold, Lord, half of my goods I give to the poor. If I have wrongfully exacted anything of anyone, I restore four times as much Luke 19:8. We know that The king's heart is in Yahweh's hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires Proverbs 21:1, and we trust that God can move upon this landlord wherever he is to do what is right.

We pray together for him and for this situation. Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, and we lift up this former landlord to You. You see this unpaid penalty and the trouble it has left behind. We ask that You would bring godly conviction upon his heart, that he would feel genuine remorse for leaving this obligation unpaid and would be moved to make it right. Give him the honesty and courage to contact the police and the proper authorities both here and abroad and to resolve what is overdue. Let him not delay or hide, but act quickly to settle what is owed, as Your word says to agree with your adversary quickly while you are with him on the way Matthew 5:25. We also pray for peace for the one who submitted this request, that You would guard their heart from bitterness or anxiety and help them to trust in Your justice and provision. We ask that this matter would be closed in a way that honors You and brings integrity to all involved. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, our mediator and Lord, amen.

We encourage you to continue to commit this to the Lord in prayer while also walking in wisdom. If you have opportunity, you may document what is needed and seek lawful counsel if the penalty in any way affects you, but do so without malice, trusting that God is just and sees all. Continue to forgive as the Lord forgave you, while still desiring what is right and lawful to be done Colossians 3:13. We trust God will work even in this frustrating situation for His purposes and will bring conviction where it is needed.

We hear how heavy this has been, waiting for a former landlord to resolve an unpaid police penalty that still shows as overdue both here and abroad. It is frustrating to be affected by someone else's unfinished business, especially when there is little you can do directly to move it forward.

We are joining you in praying that God would work in his heart toward honest ownership of his responsibility. We pray not just for a feeling of regret, but for the kind of settled conviction that leads a person to follow through and seek to make whole what is owed, which is also the path that can bring peace to his own conscience and relief to relationships that have been strained.

One steady step that often helps in these lingering matters is to keep a simple, dated record of any notices or contacts you receive about the penalty, and if questions remain about your own standing, to ask a trusted local advisor or tenant support service for clarity so you are not left carrying uncertainty alone. We will keep praying for you as you wait.

Father, we bring this landlord before You and ask that You would stir his conscience and guide him to take the right steps with the police and pay what is due. Give our friend peace as he waits, wisdom for any next decision, and trust in Your justice and care. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your request concerning this unpaid penalty has been laid before the Lord and we join you in prayer for this former landlord in the name of Jesus Christ.

You have asked that he might feel remorse, and herein we must pray with holy wisdom. The Scriptures teach us that judgment may produce a carnal repentance, a repentance that is of the flesh and after the manner of the sinful nature of men, wrought by fear of penalty rather than by the Spirit of God. A man may tremble because the law pursues him, and yet not see sin as sinful before God. True repentance, that repentance which is unto life and needs not to be repented of, is the work of the Holy Spirit in the renewed heart. It gives God glory, confessing the justice of His law even though it condemns us, and it yields works meet for repentance, a practical and lasting turning from wrong to that which is honest and right.

We therefore pray not merely that this man may feel the sting of exposure or the fear of the police, here and abroad, but that God would grant him evangelical repentance. Nobody ever truly repented until he heard of pardon, for remorse alone hardens the heart, but the goodness of God leadeth to repentance. May the Lord show him that there is forgiveness with Him, that though sin be great, there is forgiveness through the blood of Jesus Christ, the Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God. If God demands the penalty in justice, He Himself has supplied it in love at the cross, and He continues to forgive all who come with a penitent heart desiring mercy. Oh that this man might know that there is forgiveness, and in knowing it, might turn with a broken and contrite heart which God will not despise.

We pray that the Holy Spirit would convince him of his duty before God and before men, that he would see his obligation to render what is due, and that he would be moved to resolve this matter faithfully and promptly, making restitution where it is required. May he be led to deal honestly, to clear what is overdue, and to walk in the light.

We pray also for you, that the Lord would keep you from bitterness and grant you grace to forgive even as God for His Christ's sake hath forgiven you. May you have patience as you wait upon the Lord, trusting that He who is just will not forsake the cause of righteousness, and that He is able to work in the heart of this man for His own glory.

We commit this burden to Him who hears prayer, asking all in the precious name of Jesus Christ our only hope, in whom there is full and eternal forgiveness for every penitent soul. Amen.
