Unpaid police penalty by the former landlord

Kensem

Beloved of All
Please pray for the former landlord in Jesus' name so that he feels remorse and resolves the issue with the police, both here and abroad, where the penalty is overdue/unpaid

We join you in bringing this matter before the Lord and we appreciate that you have asked for prayer in Jesus' name, for it is through Him alone that we have access to the Father.

We understand the frustration and concern that comes when another person's unresolved debt or penalty, especially with the police, remains overdue both here and abroad and may affect you or weigh on your conscience. We pray that God would bring conviction, remorse, and a desire for righteousness to the heart of this former landlord, and that justice and peace would prevail.

Scripture reminds us that God has established governing authorities and calls us to honor them. Romans 13:1 says Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. And Romans 13:7 says Give therefore to everyone what you owe, taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom custom, respect to whom respect, honor to whom honor. An unpaid penalty to the police is not a small matter before God, for Psalm 37:21 says The wicked borrow, and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously. We also take comfort that God desires repentance and restoration, as Proverbs 28:13 says He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy. And Matthew 5:25 encourages us to Agree with your adversary quickly while you are with him on the way, lest perhaps the prosecutor deliver you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and you be cast into prison.

We also encourage you to release any bitterness or anxiety about this situation into God's hands, trusting His justice and timing. Romans 12:19 says Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord.

We pray together now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this former landlord to You. You see his heart and You know the details of this unpaid police penalty both here and abroad. We ask that You would convict him by Your Holy Spirit, grant him godly sorrow that leads to repentance, and move him to take responsibility and resolve this debt fully and honestly with the authorities. Lord, remove any hardness or avoidance and give him integrity to do what is right and lawful. We pray for the police and authorities involved, that they would act justly and that this matter would be settled without further complication or harm to anyone else. And Father, we pray for the one who submitted this request, grant peace that surpasses understanding, guard their heart from worry or resentment, and help them to trust that You are sovereign and just. Let Your will be done and let Your name be glorified through reconciliation and obedience. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and intercessor, amen.

We hear how wearing it is to be tied to someone else's unfinished business, especially when a police penalty is still unpaid here and abroad and you have no way to make him address it. It makes sense you would want him to come to a place of honesty and take the right steps.

We are joining you in praying for that kind of clarity for him. When a person is willing to own what is theirs and make it right where they can, it often lifts a weight of guilt they have been carrying and it also opens a door for broken trust to begin to heal. That is what we are asking God to work in him, a sincere willingness to face what is owed and to do what is needed with the authorities involved.

While you wait, one steady step that helps many people is to put the matter fully in God's hands and in the hands of the proper authorities, rather than carrying the burden of trying to move his conscience yourself. Keep any records you have in one place should you ever need them, continue to pray for him as you are doing, and give yourself permission to step back from checking on his progress so your own heart can stay at peace.

Father, we lift this former landlord to You. Work in his heart to bring conviction and a desire to make things right, and give him wisdom and courage to resolve what is outstanding with the police in both places. Guard the one who wrote to us from anxiety and resentment, and lead both of them in Your will. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Thank you Heavenly Father for blessing us with another day, and for all you do for all of us. All glory and honor belongs to you Father. Please Heavenly Father bring resolve and peace to the issues at hand. I lift this prayer up on your glory Father God and ask that you grant your perfect will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

““But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We have heard your request and we join with you in bringing this matter before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone there is forgiveness.

You ask that the former landlord may feel remorse and resolve what is overdue and unpaid before the authorities both here and abroad. We pray indeed that God would work in him that which no mere fear of judgment can work. Judgment may produce a carnal repentance, a repentance that is of the flesh and after the manner of the sinful nature of men, a trembling because the penalty presses. But true repentance, the repentance which is the work of the Spirit of God and which God accepts, gives God glory. It confesses that sin is truly sinful, that it deserves hell, and it justifies the justice of God even though that justice condemns the sinner. This is repentance after a godly sort, repentance that needs not to be repented of, and it yields works meet for repentance. It is practical and lasting. It does not merely regret the consequence, it abhors the sin itself and turns from it.

So we pray that the Lord would grant to this man not a fleeting regret born only of dread of the police, but repentance unto life. May the Holy Spirit convince him of his duty before God and before man, that he may act honestly and make restitution where it is due, and may he do so not to quiet his own conscience alone, but to give glory to God who is just.

And we pray also that he may know that there is forgiveness with God. There is forgiveness, not by the mere payment of a fine, but through Jesus Christ who bore the penalty in justice and supplies it in love. If God demands the penalty in justice, He Himself supplies it in love at the cross. There is forgiveness for every sinner who comes with a penitent heart and desires it through Christ, however great the debt. Let him hear that blessed whisper, there is forgiveness, and let that forgiveness lead him to a changed life.

We therefore ask the Lord to move upon his heart to fulfill his obligations according to the law, to settle what is owing, and to walk in integrity. We ask that you, who have been burdened by this, may be kept in peace, committing the matter to Him who judges righteously, and trusting that He who has promised oblivion to all our debt in Christ will also guide all earthly debts to a just and honest end.

We lay this before the Lord together, asking in the name of Jesus that true conviction would come, that practical fruit would follow, and that the matter long delayed would be resolved according to righteousness and mercy.
