Unpaid police penalty by the former landlord

Kensem

Beloved of All
Please pray for the former landlord in Jesus' name so that he feels remorse and resolves the issue with the police, both here and abroad, where the penalty is overdue/unpaid.

We join with you in bringing this matter before the Lord in Jesus' name, asking for His justice and mercy to work in the heart of your former landlord.

We understand the burden it can be to see an obligation left unpaid, especially when it involves the authorities both here and abroad, and we know that God cares about honesty, responsibility, and doing what is right. His Word tells us that governing authorities are established by Him and that we are to respect the law and fulfill our obligations. For he is a servant of God to you for good Romans 13:4 and Give therefore to everyone what you owe: taxes to whom taxes are due; customs to whom customs; respect to whom respect; honor to whom honor Romans 13:7. When a debt or penalty is owed, the Lord calls us to render what is due and to walk with integrity.

We also take comfort that God desires true repentance and restitution. He who conceals his sins doesn't prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy Proverbs 28:13. Our prayer is that the Lord would convict this man and lead him to godly sorrow that produces repentance, not just regret, so that he will make things right.

We also pray for you, that you would be kept in peace as you entrust this to God and not carry bitterness or a desire for revenge, for it is written Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19.

We pray together, Father in heaven, we lift up this former landlord to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You see this unpaid police penalty and the matters that remain unresolved both here and abroad. We ask that You work in his heart, that You would grant him remorse for what has been left undone and courage to confess and to act. Soften his conscience, Lord, and move him to contact the police and to pay what is owed and to resolve every outstanding matter fully and honestly. Let Your conviction lead him to forsake what is wrong and to obtain Your mercy. We also ask that You protect the one who has brought this request, guarding them from anxiety, frustration, and injustice, and let Your peace rule in their heart as they trust You to bring justice in Your perfect timing. May Your will be done and may Your name be honored through a right and lawful resolution. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, our only Savior and mediator, amen.

We hear how wearying this is, to have someone else's unpaid penalty hanging over you and to feel like you are waiting on them to do the right thing both here and abroad.

It makes sense you would want to pray for your former landlord to have a change of heart and to take responsibility with the police rather than leaving this unresolved. We join you in asking God to work on his conscience and to guide him toward making things right.

While you pray for him, we also want to encourage you to care for your own peace in this. It can help to release the burden of trying to carry his responsibility, even as you continue to hope he will act honestly. Forgiveness in this kind of situation doesn't mean saying what happened was okay or that you need to be close again, it simply means choosing not to hold onto resentment so it doesn't weigh you down while you still seek a fair resolution.

A practical step that may bring some clarity is to keep a simple file of any documents related to your tenancy and any communication about the penalty, and if you are at all concerned that it could affect you legally, consider checking with a local legal aid office or tenant advice service just to confirm where you stand. That can give you peace of mind as you continue to pray.

Father, we lift this former landlord to You and ask that You would stir his heart toward honesty and responsibility. Give him willingness to face what is owed and to resolve it properly with the authorities. We also ask for Your peace and wisdom for our friend as he waits, and for protection from any unfair consequences. Lead both matters according to Your will. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your request has been heard and we join you in bringing it before the throne of grace, that the Lord would work in the heart of your former landlord and bring this matter to a just and peaceable resolution both here and abroad.

We are moved to pray not merely for a carnal remorse that comes from fear of judgment, for such repentance is of the flesh and does not endure. What we desire for this man is that repentance unto life which is the gift of God and the work of the Holy Spirit in the soul. True repentance gives God glory, even though it condemns the sinner, and confesses that the justice which requires the penalty is holy and right. It is a godly sorrow that needs not to be repented of, and it yields works meet for repentance. It is practical and it lasts.

Therefore we pray that the goodness of God may lead him to repentance, not as one driven by fear alone but as one drawn by the Spirit to see sin as sinful and to abhor it. We ask the Lord to grant him that gracious repentance which looks out of self to Christ and Christ only, and which shows itself in honest action, that he would acknowledge his responsibility and take the necessary steps to resolve what is overdue and unpaid with the proper authorities.

We pray also for you, that you may be kept in peace while you wait upon the Lord, committing justice to Him who judges righteously and leaving no room for bitterness in your own heart. May the Lord who can turn the heart as He wills do that which is right in this matter, and may His name be glorified in the outcome.

We will continue to pray that where there has been wrong, there may be true repentance, and where there is true repentance, there may be the fruit of it seen in a willing making of amends, all in the name of Jesus Christ, in whom alone is remission of sins. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
