Unpaid police penalty by the former landlord

Kensem

Beloved of All
Please pray for the former landlord in Jesus' name so that he feels remorse and resolves the issue with the police, both here and abroad, where the penalty is overdue/unpaid.

We join you in bringing this matter before the Lord and we thank you for asking in Jesus' name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and confidence that He hears us. As it is written, There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Timothy 2:5 and Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son John 14:13.

We understand the burden you carry concerning your former landlord and this overdue penalty owed to the police both here and abroad. It is right to desire that what is owed be paid and that justice be honored, for God has established governing authorities for order and justice. Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God Romans 13:1 and Give therefore to everyone what you owe, taxes to whom taxes are due, respect to whom respect is due, honor to whom honor is due Romans 13:7. When a penalty or debt is left unpaid, it not only dishonors the authorities but also weighs on the conscience, for He who conceals his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them will obtain mercy Proverbs 28:13.

We also hear your heart that the landlord would feel remorse and take responsibility rather than simply that he would be punished. That desire aligns with God's heart, who takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live Ezekiel 33:11 and who is patient, not wishing that anyone should perish, but that all should come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9. At the same time we want to gently encourage you to guard your own heart against bitterness or a spirit of vengeance while you wait for resolution, for we are taught, Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. Our call is to desire restoration and righteousness while leaving judgment in God's hands and continuing to walk in forgiveness and peace.

We pray together for this situation. Father in heaven, we lift up this former landlord to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You see this unpaid penalty and You know the details both here and abroad. We ask that You work in his heart by Your Holy Spirit to bring conviction, godly sorrow, and true remorse that leads to repentance and action. Soften what is hardened and awaken his conscience to do what is right and lawful, to come forward and resolve what is overdue with the police. Grant him integrity to make restitution and to honor the authorities You have appointed. We also pray for the authorities involved, that they may act with wisdom and fairness. And for the one who brought this request, grant peace, patience, and freedom from anxiety or resentment as they trust You to bring justice in Your perfect timing and way. Help them to continue in prayer and to entrust this matter fully to You, knowing that You are just and merciful. We ask all this in the saving and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and intercessor, amen.

We encourage you to continue to commit this to the Lord in prayer and to trust Him to move in His time. Keep your heart free by forgiving as Christ forgave us Ephesians 4:32, and rest in the confidence that God sees, He cares about honesty and justice, and He is able to lead this man to make things right.

We understand how frustrating it is to be left waiting on someone else to do the right thing, especially when it involves the police and an unpaid penalty that still hangs over your former address. It is natural to want to see remorse and responsibility, both locally and where he is now abroad.

We will be praying with you for your former landlord, that God would work on his conscience and move him to make things right with the authorities and settle what is overdue. We also pray for you as you wait, that you would not have to carry the weight of his choices.

One gentle next step that may bring peace of mind is to make sure your own position is clear. If you have not already, keep a simple file of when your tenancy ended and your forwarding address, and if you are at all concerned the penalty could be linked to you, consider asking a local housing advice service or attorney to confirm you have no liability. That can sit alongside prayer, not instead of it.

Father, in Jesus name we lift this landlord to You. Soften his heart toward honesty and prompt him to resolve what he owes with the police in both places. Give our friend peace as he waits, and let justice be done in the right way and time. Amen.

Your request concerning the former landlord and the unpaid penalty has been heard, and we join you in bringing it before the Lord who sees all debts and duties.

We pray that God, in His goodness, would lead this man to true repentance. The Scriptures teach us that there is a poor and short lived repentance which turns from sin for a time and then goes back to it again, like a dog returning to its vomit, and this cannot be acceptable with God. What we ask for is that other repentance which is the work of the Spirit of God, which gives God glory and yields works meet for repentance.

True repentance is not mere regret or vain words, but a sorrow for sin and a hatred of it, with an honest determination by God's grace to cease from sin and to do so no more. As it has been said, repentance is to leave the sins we loved before, and show that we in earnest grieve by doing so no more. It is practical and it lasts, not coming upon a man and going away suddenly, but continuing and bringing forth fruit.

We are all tenants under God, who is the great Landlord of the house in which we dwell, and we owe Him rent in obedience and honesty before men. When arrears remain, the faithful tenant seeks to pay what is due and to make up what is lacking. So we pray that this landlord may be given a heart to acknowledge what is owed, to feel godly sorrow that needs not to be repented of, and to act with integrity to resolve the matter with the police, both here and abroad, where the penalty is overdue.

We do not ask that God would overlook wrong, but that He would grant repentance unto life, for where there is true repentance there is the promise of full and free forgiveness through the blood of Jesus Christ, who was nailed to the cross for sin and is set forth as a propitiation. May the goodness of God, who spares and sustains, lead this man to turn to Him, to confess what is amiss, and to make restitution as he is able.

We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, the only Saviour, asking that the Lord would work conscience and resolve for what is right, and that you would be kept in peace as you leave this burden with Him who judges righteously and pardons abundantly those who truly turn to Him.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
