Unpaid police penalty by the former landlord

Kensem

Beloved of All
Please pray for the former landlord in Jesus' name so that he feels remorse and resolves the issue with the police, both here and abroad, where the penalty is overdue/unpaid.

We join you in bringing this matter before the Lord and we thank you for asking for prayer in Jesus' name, for it is through Him we have access to the Father and it is in His name that conviction, repentance and restoration can truly come.

We understand the burden of an unpaid penalty left behind by a former landlord, especially when it involves the police and remains unresolved both here and abroad. Scripture is clear that we are to live honestly and honorably before authorities and to give what is due. Romans 13:7 says Give therefore to everyone what you owe: taxes to whom taxes are due; customs to whom customs; respect to whom respect; honor to whom honor. And Romans 13:1 reminds us Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. To leave a debt or a penalty unpaid is not only a legal matter but a matter of conscience before God, and we pray that your former landlord will come to see this.

We also pray that you will be guarded from bitterness or anxiety as you wait for this to be resolved. God sees what is owed and what is left undone, and He calls us to trust His justice while we walk in peace. Romans 12:19 says Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. And Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

Our desire is not only that a fine be paid, but that a heart be changed. Godly sorrow leads to true repentance. 2 Corinthians 7:10 says For godly sorrow produces repentance to salvation, which brings no regret. We pray for that kind of sorrow to work in him, like Zacchaeus who declared in Luke 19:8 Behold, Lord, half of my goods I give to the poor. If I have wrongfully exacted anything of anyone, I restore four times as much.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we lift up this former landlord to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You know his heart and You know the details of this unpaid police penalty both here and abroad. We ask that You convict his conscience by Your Holy Spirit and grant him godly remorse that leads to repentance and action. Soften any hardness or indifference and move him to take responsibility and to resolve this matter fully with the police and with all authorities involved. Let him not delay or hide, but act honestly and promptly to pay what is owed. We pray for the authorities handling this case, that they would act with wisdom and fairness. And we pray for the one who submitted this request, that You would give peace, patience and trust in Your justice, and keep any resentment far from their heart. We ask that this situation be resolved in a way that honors You and brings closure and a testimony of Your power to convict and restore. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We can imagine how frustrating and unsettling this is, to be caught in the aftermath of a former landlord's unpaid police penalty, especially when it stretches across two places and you have no control over whether he takes responsibility.

It makes sense you would want him to see the seriousness of it and make it right with the authorities. Wanting that kind of accountability is a desire for good order and for what is right to be done, and we join you in praying for that.

While you wait, one steady step that often brings peace of mind is to make sure you are clearly separated from the liability on paper. If you have not already, keeping your old lease, proof of when you moved out, and any correspondence about the tenancy in one place can be helpful if police or other officials ever ask for clarification. If you are unsure whether your name could be linked to the address, a brief check with the local non-emergency police contact or a trusted legal aid resource can clarify your standing.

We are carrying this with you in prayer.

Father, in Jesus' name we lift this former landlord to You, asking that You would stir his conscience and guide him to resolve what is owed with the police both here and abroad. We ask for wisdom and peace for our friend as they wait, and that this matter would be settled justly and without further burden on them. Amen.

We have heard your burden concerning the unpaid penalty that rests upon your former landlord, both here and abroad, and we join you in bringing it before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone there is forgiveness with God.

We pray that the Lord, who alone can work a true repentance in the heart, would visit this man not with a mere carnal repentance that trembles only at the fear of judgment or the shame of exposure, but with that holy, heavenly repentance which is wrought by the Holy Spirit. Such repentance gives God glory, it stands at the Cross and sees sin as laid upon Christ, and it grieves not only for the consequences of sin but for the sin itself against so good and holy a God. We ask that if it be the Lord's will, He would grant him godly sorrow that needs not to be repented of, a repentance unto life that looks out of self to Christ and to Christ only.

And because true repentance will yield works meet for repentance and will be practical and lasting, we pray that this work within would come forth in honest action, that he would feel a just remorse and be moved to resolve what is overdue, to render what is due to the authorities, and to walk in integrity before God and man. For the powers that be are ordained of God, and to act uprightly in these earthly matters is part of that honesty which true grace teaches.

We also pray for you who have carried this matter. May you know that there is forgiveness with God, surprising and complete forgiveness through the blood of Jesus, who bore the punishment that we might go free, and who continues to forgive. As you have received such mercy, may you be kept in a spirit of forgiveness and peace, committing this injustice to Him who judges righteously, and resting in the assurance that He will do what is right.

We ask these things not because remorse or restitution can merit salvation, but because salvation is by Christ alone, and a renewed heart delights to do what is right. May the Lord grant to this landlord, and to each of us, that repentance which lives as long as faith lives, and that forgiveness which is eternal in Christ Jesus.

We commend this to our gracious Father, praying that His will be done and that His name be glorified, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We join you in bringing this matter before the Lord and we pray with you in the name of Jesus Christ.

We ask the Father to work in the heart of your former landlord, that he would not harden himself against what is right. God is long suffering and calls each person to repentance, and He has also shown that there is a righteous judgment to come where every deed is revealed. We pray that this man would hear that call now, while there is still time to turn back.

We pray that God would grant him not just regret or tears, but true godly sorrow that works repentance unto salvation and does not need to be regretted. As Scripture and our fathers have taught, tears alone are not repentance if the heart does not change and bear fruit. We ask that the Lord would give him a sincere remorse for leaving this debt unpaid and a clear willingness to make it right, to take responsibility before the police both here and abroad and to resolve what is overdue.

We also pray for justice to be upheld in a right way. The Lord loves righteousness and He has ordained order and justice among us. We ask that what is owed would be paid and that this burden would be lifted from you, so that you are not troubled by another person's neglect.

We pray for you as well, that God would give you peace as you wait on Him, patience, and confidence that He sees and will act according to His wisdom and mercy. We ask all of this through Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is our Savior and our hope. Amen.

We join you in bringing this burden before the Lord and we understand the frustration of being affected by another person's unresolved legal responsibility.

Scripture makes a clear distinction between simply feeling sorry and truly repenting. One kind of sorrow is only about being caught or facing consequences, and it does not lead to life. The other is a godly sorrow that leads to a change of heart and a change of direction. True repentance is not just words or emotion, it is turning away from what is wrong and doing what is right. That is why the Bible speaks of bearing fruit that shows repentance is real. Where repentance is genuine, it will be seen in actions that seek to make things right.

We pray that God would work that kind of godly sorrow in your former landlord. That he would not only feel regret, but would be led to a real change, to take responsibility, and to resolve what is owed to the civil authorities both where you are and abroad. God is a God of justice and righteousness, and He desires that what is right and true prevail, including in matters of law and legal obligation. To honor what the authorities require when a penalty has been justly imposed is part of walking honestly before God and before men.

We also pray for you, that the Lord would guard your heart from bitterness while you wait for justice. Forgiveness is a matter of the heart and spirit, and God commands it and gives us the grace to live it when we are willing. You can sincerely desire that what is right be done and that the law be honored, while still asking God to give you a forgiving spirit and peace as you trust Him to work.

Let us pray together. Father, we bring this former landlord before You in the name of Jesus. You see this unpaid penalty and the way it remains unresolved. We ask that You would convict his heart, grant him godly sorrow that leads to repentance, and move him to act in a way that demonstrates that change by making things right with the police and fulfilling what is required of him. We ask that justice would be done and that truth would prevail. And we ask that You would also grant him Your mercy and the forgiveness of sins that comes only through faith in Jesus Christ, for that is his greatest need. Give peace to the one who has brought this request, take away any bitterness, and help him to trust You as the righteous Judge. We ask this in the name of Jesus, amen.
