Unpaid police penalty by the former landlord

Kensem

Beloved of All
Please pray for the former landlord in Jesus' name so that he feels remorse and resolves the issue with the police, both here and abroad, where the penalty is overdue/unpaid.

We join you in bringing this matter before the Lord and we appreciate that you have asked for prayer in Jesus name, for it is through Him alone that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that hearts are truly changed.

We are troubled by this situation where what is owed to the authorities remains unpaid and overdue both here and abroad. Scripture is clear that God has ordained governing authorities for order and justice and we are called to respect them. Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God Romans 13:1. We are also taught to give therefore to everyone what you owe, taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, respect to whom respect, honor to whom honor Romans 13:7. To leave a police penalty unpaid is to withhold what is due and to disregard that ordinance, and we pray that the former landlord will see this not merely as a legal problem but as a matter of conscience before God. He who conceals his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them will obtain mercy Proverbs 28:13.

We also lift you up as you wait for this resolution, that you would not be consumed by frustration or bitterness but would entrust justice to the Lord. We are reminded not to avenge ourselves, but give place to God's wrath, for it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. And we are called to love our enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you Matthew 5:44, Luke 6:27.

We pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we ask You to work in the heart of this former landlord. Bring conviction where there has been neglect and hardness, grant him godly remorse that leads to repentance and not merely regret. Move him to take responsibility and to resolve what is overdue with the police, both here and abroad, paying what is owed and making restitution fully and promptly. We ask that You remove any attempt to hide or delay and give him courage to act honestly and humbly before the authorities You have appointed. We pray for the officials involved as well, that they would act with fairness and wisdom. And Lord, we pray for the one who brought this request, grant peace while waiting, guard the heart from resentment, and help to forgive as You have forgiven us, trusting that You see all things and will bring justice in Your perfect time and way. We ask all this in the saving and powerful name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray for this man’s repentance rather than only for the penalty to be paid, for God desires that none should perish but that all should come to repentance. Trust that the Lord is working even when you do not see movement, and continue to walk in integrity and in prayer, leaving the outcome in His hands.

We appreciate you sharing this burden with us. It is wearying to watch an unresolved penalty linger, especially when it involves authorities in more than one place and feels out of your hands.

We hear your desire is not for revenge but for responsibility, that your former landlord would recognize what is owed and take the right steps to make it right. That is a good and honest prayer. At the same time we know how heavy it can feel to wait for someone else to act. It can help to gently separate what is his to do before God and the police from what is yours to carry today.

One small practice that helps many in this kind of waiting is to set the matter before the Lord at a set time each day and then intentionally leave the outcome with Him and with the proper officials, rather than rehearsing it throughout the day. If you have any related documents, keeping them together in one place can also bring a little peace of mind.

We are praying with you.

Father, in Jesus name we lift this former landlord to You. Work in his conscience and lead him to do what is right and resolve what is overdue with the police here and abroad. And give our friend peace, wisdom and freedom from this burden as he trusts You. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have heard your burden concerning this unpaid penalty and the trouble it has brought, and we bring it with you before the Lord who is both just and merciful.

You ask that the former landlord may feel remorse and resolve what is overdue with the authorities here and abroad. We pray with you to that end, but we must ask the Lord for something deeper than a mere uneasiness about consequences. Judgment may produce a carnal repentance, a repentance that is of the flesh and after the manner of sinful nature, moved only by fear of exposure or punishment. That kind of sorrow does not give God glory and it does not last. What we desire for this man is that holy, healthy, heavenly sort which is worked in the renewed heart by the Holy Spirit.

True repentance gives God glory. It confesses that His justice is right even though it condemns us, and it sees sin as truly sinful and deserving of His judgment. It is practical repentance, yielding works meet for repentance, and it lasts. Where there is a debt owed to the civil power which God has ordained, true repentance will seek to do what is honest and just, to pay what is owed and to be reconciled where wrong has been done, as far as it lies within a man to do so.

We are to preach repentance in the name of Jesus, not as the demand of Moses, but as the gift of God. Repentance and remission of sins are joined together in Christ, and where there is true godly sorrow there is also full and free forgiveness through His finished work. The goodness of God leads to repentance, drawing the heart rather than merely driving it by fear, and we pray that goodness may be known to this man.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we ask that You would grant to this landlord repentance unto life. Work in him by Your Spirit that he may see his fault before You and before men, own Your justice to be unimpeachable, and turn from evasion to honesty. Grant him not only regret for penalty incurred, but sorrow for sin itself, and faith to look out of self to Christ alone for mercy and for power to do what is right. Move him, we beseech You, to make restitution where it is due and to settle what is overdue with the authorities both here and abroad, that he may walk in a way that is upright and that gives You glory. And for the one who has brought this request, grant peace in waiting upon Your providence, patience under this trial, and confidence that You who have satisfied justice at the cross will also order all things according to Your righteousness and mercy. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus, who is our peace and our Redeemer. Amen.

We have heard your request and we join you in bringing this matter before the Lord.

We pray that God, who is both long suffering and righteous in judgment, would work in the heart of your former landlord. Scripture teaches that God shows patience and calls all people to repentance, yet there is also a day when justice will be revealed and each will give account. We ask that before that day, this man would come to true remorse, not merely regret that is found to be empty, but the godly sorrow that works repentance unto salvation and brings real change. Such repentance has great power to set free even those who have fallen deeply, if they will lay hold of it, and it is proved by its fruit.

We pray therefore that he would take responsibility for what is owed, that he would resolve the unpaid penalty with the police both here and abroad, and that he would do what is just and honest to make restitution where it is due. For God has ordained order and justice among people, with courts and authorities for this very purpose, and it is right that debts and penalties be honored.

We also pray for you, that the Lord would guard your heart from bitterness and train you in gentleness, as you seek to leave vengeance to Him and to walk in forgiveness as you have been forgiven much in Christ. May you have peace as you trust His righteous judgment and His mercy, which alone brings forgiveness through Jesus Christ.

Father, we ask this in the name of Jesus, that you would grant repentance where it is needed, that justice would be satisfied in a right way, and that all involved would come to know your grace and truth. Amen.
