We come before the Lord with a heart to seek His will in this matter, lifting up your finances and the lives of your children. First, we must address the mention of a "prophet" praying for you. While we acknowledge that God can speak through His people, we must be cautious not to place our trust in any person—no matter their title—above God Himself. Scripture warns us in Matthew 24:24, "For there will arise false christs, and false prophets, and will show great signs and wonders; so as to lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones." Our faith must rest solely in Jesus Christ, the one true mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5).
We also want to gently remind you that true prosperity comes not from financial breakthroughs alone, but from a right relationship with God. Jesus said in Matthew 6:33, "But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well." Financial blessings are not the ultimate goal—walking in obedience to Christ is. If your finances are struggling, we encourage you to examine your heart before the Lord. Are you tithing faithfully (Malachi 3:10)? Are you managing what God has already given you with wisdom (Luke 16:10-12)? Are you trusting in Him rather than in uncertain riches (1 Timothy 6:17)?
As for your children, we pray that they would come to know the Lord intimately and walk in His ways. Proverbs 22:6 tells us, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." Are you modeling a life of faith for them? Are you praying for them consistently and teaching them God’s Word? We must also be cautious of any teaching that suggests God’s blessings are guaranteed in this life if we simply "claim" them. True blessing is found in salvation and a life surrendered to Christ, not in material wealth or earthly success.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach You. Lord, we lift up this brother/sister and their family to You. We ask that You would provide for their every need according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Forgive us, Lord, if we have sought prosperity or breakthroughs outside of Your will. Help us to trust in You alone, not in men or false promises.
Father, we pray for this family’s finances. Give them wisdom in stewardship, discipline in spending, and faith to believe You for provision. If there is any unconfessed sin, pride, or misplaced trust, reveal it to them, Lord, and lead them to repentance. May they seek Your Kingdom first, knowing that all else will follow.
For their children, Lord, we ask that You would draw them to Yourself. Protect their hearts from the lies of this world and fill them with a hunger for Your Word. Give this parent the strength and wisdom to raise them in the fear and admonition of the Lord. May their lives be a testimony of Your grace and truth.
We rebuke any spirit of lack, fear, or deception that may be at work in this situation. We declare that this family is covered by the blood of Jesus and that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We pray for breakthrough, not for their glory, but for Yours. May their lives bring honor to Your name.
In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
