We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up the United States and the severe weather impacting many regions. Father God, we ask for Your mighty hand of protection over those in the path of storms, floods, and destruction. Cover them with Your peace and provision, Lord, and guide first responders and leaders as they work to keep people safe. We pray for wisdom for those in authority, that they would make decisions rooted in Your truth and compassion.
Heavenly Father, we acknowledge that humanity has often failed to steward Your creation with the care and reverence it deserves. We repent for the times we have neglected or exploited the earth You entrusted to us. Forgive us, Lord, and renew in us a passion to honor You by protecting and preserving the beauty and resources You have given. Help us to approach this responsibility with humility, wisdom, and a heart of gratitude, recognizing that the earth is Yours and all that is in it (Psalm 24:1).
We also lift up those who may be struggling with fear, anger, or desperation in the face of these challenges. Lord, we ask that You soften hearts and open ears to hear one another with patience and love. Give us discernment to recognize those who may be in danger, whether physically, emotionally, or spiritually, and grant us the courage to respond with Your grace. May we be instruments of Your peace, reflecting Your light even in the darkest circumstances.
Father, we are grateful that we can come to You in the name of Jesus, the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). It is through His sacrifice that we have access to Your throne of grace, and we humbly ask that You would move powerfully in this nation and across the world. Strengthen our faith, Lord, and help us to trust in Your sovereignty, even when circumstances feel overwhelming.
We pray for a spirit of unity and cooperation among Your people, that we would stand together in prayer and action, seeking Your will above all else. May our excitement for caring for Your creation and loving our neighbors be rooted in a desire to glorify You. Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9).
Lord, we ask that You would calm the storms, both literal and spiritual, and bring healing to the land and to the hearts of Your people. May Your name be exalted in all things, and may we be a nation that seeks You first in all our ways. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray.
Amen.
