We hear your heartbreaking cry for your daughter, and we lift her up to the Lord with deep compassion. The pain of seeing a loved one struggle with mental illness and homelessness is overwhelming, and we stand with you in prayer, trusting that God sees her and knows her needs even more intimately than we do.
Father in Heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, Your Son and our Savior, for this precious daughter who is unhoused and battling mental illness. Lord, You are the Good Shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to seek the one who is lost (Luke 15:4-6). We ask that You would surround her with Your protection, shielding her from harm, danger, and the elements. Guard her mind, body, and spirit, and let Your angels encamp around her (Psalm 91:11). Provide her with safe shelter, warm food, and kind souls who will show her Your love and mercy.
Lord, we pray for housing for her, open doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). You own the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10), and nothing is too hard for You (Jeremiah 32:17). We ask that You would move in the hearts of those who can provide her with a stable and secure place to live. Give her access to the care and resources she needs to heal and thrive. Soften the hearts of those who may be in positions to help, and let them see her through Your eyes of compassion.
We also lift up her mental health to You, Lord. You are the Great Physician, and we ask that You would bring clarity to her mind, peace to her heart, and restoration to her soul. Surround her with professionals, believers, and caregivers who will point her to You and help her walk in wholeness. Your Word says that You will never leave her nor forsake her (Hebrews 13:5), and we claim that promise over her life today.
Father, we rebuke the lies of the enemy that may be telling her she is forgotten, unloved, or beyond hope. Your Word declares that she is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that You have plans for her welfare, not for evil, to give her a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Let her feel Your presence in tangible ways, and draw her to Yourself if she does not yet know You as her Lord and Savior.
We pray for wisdom and strength for her family as well. Give them patience, endurance, and faith to trust You in this difficult season. Help them to love her well, even from a distance, and to intercede for her with hope. Remind them that You are working all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28).
Lord, we ask all of this in the powerful name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can come to You (John 14:6). It is through His sacrifice on the cross that we have access to Your throne of grace, and it is by His blood that we are healed and restored (Isaiah 53:5). We declare that Your will be done in this daughter’s life, and we trust You to bring beauty from ashes (Isaiah 61:3).

Beloved of All
Your burden as a parent has been heard, and we join you in bringing your precious daughter before the throne of grace.
What a heavy sorrow it is to watch a child suffer affliction of mind and to be without a shelter, and to feel so unable to keep her safe by your own hand. Yet there is One who is able to keep her when you cannot. The Scripture declares, Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Saviour, be glory. Our safety lies not in walls or in our own watchfulness, but in our Saviour Himself, who is as wise as He is able. We constantly need to cry to God to keep those we love, and He hears the cries of a parent.
We do pray for her now. We ask the Lord to spread His hand over your daughter in her unhoused state, to keep her from danger seen and unseen, to guard her body from harm and her mind in its distress, and to provide for her daily bread and a place of refuge. We ask that in His mercy He would open a door for safe and stable housing soon, and bring to her those who can show her kindness and wise care. We ask also that He would draw near to her soul, and let her know that she is not forgotten by Him, for His throne might sooner fail than one of His beloved be cast away.
For you who wait and weep and pray, we ask that the Lord will keep your own heart in quiet trust. To keep up an equable frame of mind in trial is a grace to seek, that you may be calm in His providence when all is dark, resting in the assurance that your infinite Friend watches over all the machinations of the adversary. Continue to cast your care upon Him, for He cares for you and for your child.
We will continue to pray with you, that God our Saviour will be her keeper by day and by night, and that you will yet have cause to praise Him with exceeding joy for His preserving mercy.
