Unexplained pain in my hand and wrist.

Smuitton

Disciple of Prayer
Several weeks ago, I began to feel pain in my left hand and wrist. I thought it was arthritis being that I'm a ### year old woman. No, this feels different. I've got an appointment with my ortho on Friday for an unrelated issue. I plan on telling him about my pain. When I look at my hand, I notice a very tiny bony growth and to the side of it is another soft bump that isn't painful. I have no idea what's going, but, I'm scared. Please pray for me. I'm truly grateful for all prayers. Thank you.

We have heard your request and we are lifting you up together before the Lord in Jesus name. We understand how frightening it can be when pain appears without a clear reason, especially when you notice changes in your hand that you cannot explain, and we want you to know that God sees your concern and cares deeply about your health and your peace of mind.

We are glad you have an appointment with your orthopedist on Friday and that you plan to tell him about this pain and the growths you have noticed. We encourage you to share everything openly with him and to follow his counsel, for God often works through the wisdom and skill He has given to physicians. We will be praying for clarity for your doctor, for accurate answers, and for the right next steps for your care.

The fear you are feeling is very understandable, but we want to remind you what Scripture says about fear and God's care for us. Isaiah 41:10 says, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. And 2 Timothy 1:7 tells us, For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. We also cling to Philippians 4:6-7, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

We also take comfort that the Lord is our healer. Psalm 147:3 says, He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. And Jeremiah 30:17 says, But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. We know that healing comes according to His perfect will and timing, and we trust Him with your body and your future.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why His name matters so much to us. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that we are saved. John 14:6 says, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins and rose again, and that by putting our trust in Him we have forgiveness and eternal life and boldness to come to God in prayer. If you have not already, we encourage you to call on His name and trust Him as your Savior.

We join together now in prayer for you.

Father in heaven, we come before You together in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear woman to You. You know the pain in her left hand and wrist, You see the tiny bony growth and the soft bump, and You know the fear that has come with it. We ask for Your healing hand upon her. We pray that You would calm her heart and replace fear with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Give wisdom to her orthopedist on Friday, guide his eyes and his understanding, and allow for a clear diagnosis and effective treatment if needed. We ask that what is causing this pain would be something treatable and not serious, but above all we surrender to Your perfect will. Restore health to her according to Your mercy, strengthen her, and let her feel Your presence with her. Help her to trust in Jesus more deeply through this trial and to know that she is held in Your righteous right hand. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We were moved by your honest note. Waiting with pain you cannot explain, and noticing changes in your own hand, is frightening, especially when you have been wondering if this is just arthritis and now it feels different.

We are glad you already have an appointment Friday and plan to tell your orthopedist about this. That is a wise next step and we encourage you to keep it and to be fully open with him. It can help to go in with a short note of when the pain started, what makes it better or worse, and any questions about the two bumps you have noticed, so you do not have to remember everything in the moment. If it helps, bring someone with you to listen and take notes. And alongside prayer, please keep following your medical team's guidance and reach out to them sooner if you become more worried before Friday.

You do not have to carry the fear alone. We are praying with you and grateful you asked us.

Father, we lift this sister to You. You see her hand, her pain and the worry she is carrying. Give her peace as she waits, wisdom for her doctor on Friday and clear next steps. Comfort her heart and remind her she is held by You. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your pain and fear have been laid before the Lord with tender sympathy, and we have made your case our own at the throne of grace. We are grateful that you have an appointment near at hand and we urge you to tell your physician freely all that troubles you, for the Lord often works His healing by the skill of the physician and we very speedily seek such help when bodily pain presses us.

You speak of fear as you look upon your hand and see what is strange to you, and we would whisper to you what the Lord so often whispers to His own, Fear not. That word grows plentifully in God's garden. Fear not, for I am with you. Fear not, for I will help you. Fear not, thou worm Jacob, saith the Lord. It is not merely a preacher who says it, but Jesus Himself who says to His poor servant fallen at His feet, Fear not. To be afraid is to dishonor Him whose arm piled the heavens and sustains the pillars of the earth. Labor then to get rid of fear, not by looking within, but by trusting Him who is worthy of all trust.

You say you are scared, and we do not wonder, for anxiety when it arises in difficulty unfits us to meet that difficulty. But your soul may make its refuge in the shadow of His wings until these calamities pass, as it is written, Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me, for my soul trusteth in Thee, yea, in the shadow of Thy wings will I make my refuge. There is your hiding place while you wait.

Do not make a savior of your feelings, nor judge the Lord's mercy by what you feel in your hand. Conversion and healing are the manifestation of Christ's power, but you are to trust Him for this very thing before you feel it. As those lepers trusted Christ's word and went at His bidding before they were cleansed, and as they went they were healed, so you must start upon your walk of trust before you feel the healing. Only trust Him, only trust Him now. Trust Him as you sink and you shall swim. Trust Him as you feel yourself fearful and you shall live.

Remember that there is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ. Not only His fruit but even His leaves are for the healing of the nations. The least thing about Christ is healing. His leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. And the Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, thy sins are forgiven thee, showing that pardon and healing are joined together in His hand. Seek first His pardoning mercy, and all other mercies flow from that conduit Head.

We pray for you now, that the Lord will be merciful unto you and grant you peace in this waiting time, that He will guide the hands and eyes of your physician on Friday, giving wisdom to discern the cause of this pain and these small growths, and that He will, if it be His gracious will, remove all disease and restore strength to your hand and wrist. We pray that He will banish your fear and give you to know that they that trust in Him shall not be ashamed nor confounded, and that whether He grants speedy healing below or keeps you for that place where infirmity is shut out and all bodily and spiritual disease is forever removed, you may rest in His love. May you know that Christ is able to save all who trust Him, and may you trust your soul and your body alike into His pierced hands, for He rejects none who yield to Him.

We will continue to bear you up before the Lord, asking that you may be kept in perfect peace, your heart fixed, trusting in the Lord.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Thank you for sharing your burden so honestly. Hearing that you have had weeks of pain in your hand and wrist, and have now noticed a small bony growth and a soft bump, it is completely understandable that you feel scared while you wait for answers.

We have prayed for you, and we continue to pray. We ask the Lord, who is present with you and sees all that concerns you, to grant you His peace that passes understanding, to calm fear and anxiety with the assurance of His care, and to remind you that He is at work even in times of waiting and uncertainty. We pray for healing for your hand and wrist, for wisdom and clarity for your orthopedic doctor on Friday, that he would be able to discern the cause of the pain and the growths and guide you toward the right care. We also pray that God would relieve your anxious thoughts and give you rest, helping you to cast your cares on Him because He cares for you.

It is good and wise that you plan to tell your doctor about this on Friday. Please do share every detail with him, and do not hesitate to seek care sooner if the pain worsens or you have other concerning changes.

When fear rises, remember that God invites you to bring every worry to Him in prayer, with thanksgiving, and He promises to guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. He is near, He hears, and He is able to work in you both to will and to act according to His good purpose. May He strengthen you with hope and comfort in the days before your appointment and beyond.

We are grateful you reached out and we will keep lifting you up in prayer. Please let us know how your appointment goes so we can continue to pray for you.
