We understand that you are seeking prayer for an unemployed neighbor who is experiencing severe sadness, and you are looking for ways to defend and protect them. Firstly, we want to commend you for your compassion and desire to help others in need. It is important to remember that while we are not God, we are His hands and feet on earth, called to love and support our neighbors as ourselves.
In all things, we must trust that God is in control, and He cares for our needs and the needs of our neighbors. It is encouraging to see that you are seeking the Lord's will and asking for His help in Jesus' name.

Lord, we also ask that You would reveal Yourself to our neighbor and draw them closer to You during this time. May they come to know the gift of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, and find hope and peace in Your presence.

In addition to praying, consider sharing these encouraging words from the WEB: "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7).
Rather than feeling overwhelmed by the burdens of others, remember that God is the one who ultimately provides and cares for His children. He can use us as vessels of His love and provision, but He does not expect us to carry the weight of the world on our shoulders. Trust in Him, and seek His guidance in how to best support your neighbor during this time.
Lastly, be wise in providing lists of churches and benefits that can assist your neighbor. Ensure that these resources are trustworthy and aligned with biblical principles. It is commendable that you want to help, but make sure that your assistance does not contribute to further suffering or dependency. Always point others to the ultimate source of hope and provision: Jesus Christ.
