Stick with me please as I expound some scriptural principles and truths on angels and their ‘undercover activities’. And by the grace of God, may you come to discern clearly between the true and the counterfeit of these supernatural beings.

(a) When His word is silent on something, it is then best to leave it alone. Do not add in your own ideas and perceptions which usually form a new doctrine namely, occult. And when you are tempted to go beyond what the bible is silent on, DO NOT seek other spiritual sources for aid. Again, leave it alone. It is not your concern to meddle such matters when the bible has made no mention of it. Remember what got the poor kitty killed. Likewise, when the bible does states something clearly, it is then good to take heed and study on that issue.
(b) In His word, there are certain important things that God puts an emphasis on whereby we should take in seriously. And when God minors on certain things, we therefore, should not major on it, e.g., putting all our affection and focus on His creation:-
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man-and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature (including angels are also created by God) rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. 2. What is their purpose for their being?

In other words, their eternal decree is to do His will. There is no ‘under-table work’ in-between for them.
3. Are we supposed to ‘entertain’ angels?
2 Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels. -Hebrews 13
Strongs concordance defines this verb as to ‘receive’. strangers/angels. The definition ‘receive’ is to ‘welcome’ strangers/angels as guests.
In the Hebrew culture of those times, receiving a guest usually includes a meal/s and even a room to stay as their guest is a far distant traveler. Ironically, why should an angel need such care when they don’t need human food and sleep to sustain them for their next galactical journey?
Or could that it be a play of words with the Hebrew writer as Paul and Luke (Matthew 18:16) put this ‘angel’ on a different angle;
14 And my (Paul) trial which was in my flesh you did not despise or reject, but you received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus. Galatians 4.
15 And all who sat in the council, looking steadfastly at him, saw his face as the face of an angel. -Acts 6
Therefore, it will be wise of me not to speculate that entertaining angels (messengers) are just the ones who wear wings but who could actually be human beings, like you and me, the believers.
Indeed, Abraham’s story was exceptional as we know that these angels or ‘men’ as stated in Genesis 18 and 19, did have a meal with him and later on, with Lot too. The whole focus of this incident was not about these super machos munching with earthlings but to bring an emphasis on their assignments, which were, to remind Abraham the promise son and to annihilate the two cities of those days.
Clearly, that historical event of feasting with Abraham and Lot never took place ever again after these angels accomplished their God given task. Neither did it ever happen again through out the rest of the bible nor will it until we see Jesus face to face in the New Jerusalem.
And thank God, that He does not leave us in the dark but makes it crystal clear to us that true angels are not here to be ‘entertained’ as strangers/guest or as X-VIPs:-
And the Angel of the LORD said to Manoah, “Though you detain Me, I will not eat your food. But if you offer a burnt offering, you must offer it to the LORD.†(For Manoah did not know He was the Angel of the LORD.) – Judges 13:16
Hence, if some sweet soul tells you that they had a gala meal time with an angel, remember that true angels of God are always on a mission critical mode, not on a social bonding visit with mushy earthlings. And when God sends His angel, it is to point that lost soul to Jesus but that is it. At later time, God does send His people like you and me across that person’s path to minister and to do the talking, i.e., sharing the salvation message-Acts 10:22 That is our job. Furthermore, a true angel of God does not go on a ‘one to one’ discipleship class with a new born again believer. Nor do they expect to have their regular morning lovely chit chat or a hug from a sentimental earthling or even showing them the happy side of things to a distress soul, which it is certainly unscriptural. No where in the bible that backs up these sorts of performances from His angels. As the bible states time and again, His angels are just His messengers doing their mission/duty for Him lest they will end up being on the pedestal of our hearts- Revelation 22:8-9.
So am I trying to downplay the work of these true angles of God? Nope. Rather, just don’t stay in Simpletown but know His word and His Holy Spirit more than ever before because of the times that we are living in.
Indeed I have read angel books written by Christians that I find dangerously disturbing as there are no proper scriptures to backup their experiences or whatsoever. Again, true angels are messengers of God and always on a move-they are not here for a holiday entertainment or to have a little cozy fellowship with Christian earthlings.

These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so. Acts 17:10-12
16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, -2 Timothy 3:16
Everything needs to be screen in the light of the infallible word of God. And thank God there are some great stories that I have read too about angels appearing to people that are desperately seeking help and looking for the Truth. The good thing is, there are incidents also in the bible where God does send His angels to help us, so it is biblically safe. Such as;
They shut the eyes of the communists when His servants(humans) were smuggling bibles in, as they did with lions’ mouths- (Daniel 6:22) , underground believers with their children worshipping, whereby, were surrounded by angels who were protecting them from their prosecutors’ detection or actual unseen evil forces(demons)-similar story in 2 Kings 6:16-17 and etcs.
There are testimonies in Christian books out there that briefly touch on ‘angels’ have this common denominator, which are;
i.
their testimony about their angelic encounter always boils down to them(angels) doing God’s commands, e.g.,
passing messages-usually a warning (Balam, Joseph, husband of Mary, the Wise Men); or directions (Acts 10:22; 27:23-24)
ii.
angles ministering to His people, e.g,
Jesus after His forty days fast and at the garden of Gethsemane
and
The story of Elijah in 1 King 19:5-8.
* if you notice, the way the angel communicated with Elijah? There was no pleasantry exchange but rather an abrupt ‘get going’ command!
iii.
always exalting the Father and the Son which is found through out the bible.
iv.
angels never introduced themselves by their names to their Christian receipients but only the Lord's message
v.
and finally, these Christian writers on angels have a strong solid sound biblical knowledge as well, they are the doers of His word.
6. What happens if an angel preaches to you some new eye opening truths or revelations?
8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other ‘gospel’ to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed. –Galatians 1:7-9
This is a very clear cut passage of this scripture that tells of angels who have a different code of conduct or message than from the word of God. Ten out of ten, with that kind of angelic message or conduct, do usually produce forth new found ‘faith’, beliefs, moves and even religion under the Name of God and sometimes even under the Name of Jesus. 7. ‘Angel’ of A Different Undercover?
And no wonder! For satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.
Therefore it is no great thing if his (satan) ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works - 2 Corinthians 11:14-15.
Yet, there are many Christians and non Christians out there promoting their stories/testimonies throughout the websites about their angles which does not line up at all with the word of God-again, please read Point 4 and Point 5 as to why I believe it is not scriptural.
And to what extend should an angel of God get close enough with us humans that even we start calling them by their names?

It is clear to see that true angels of God never introduce themselves by their names but merely pass His message. Their names are irrelevant compared to the Name of Jesus.
Therefore it is troubling when I read Christians mentioning even excitedly about their angels’ names such as Raphael, Jeremy, Emma, Uriel and etcs. And this is getting too personal and close for comfort. If God had intended His angels to get close and personal with us humans, He would have got every of His angels’ names recorded into the bible when they were doing their earth’s assignments. But it didn’t happen, except for Gabriel, Michael and lucifer which is now called satan are mentioned.
9. What Sort of Divine Intervention?
‘Give no regard to mediums and familiar spirits; do not seek after them, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God. –Leviticus 19:331

Shockingly enough, many out there and even Christians are buying to these alluring stories and personally inviting such tempting adventures and beliefs into their hearts and mind, which makes one wonders why? Is it because of getting an instant gratification and result for ones needs and soul through these ‘divine interventions’?
If so, then there is a great possibility of putting our faith unintentionally on these angels while unconsciously pushing the Godhead into the fading background of our hearts and minds. Is that what God really intended this to be? Please check the bible and see for yourselves if this grieves the heart of God. [also, please do refer to Clause (b) at the above].
10. What about our guardian angel then?
10 No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
11 For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
12 In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
After my born again experience, I actually dreamt of my guardian angel warning me that there will be a strong spiritual attack against me and I needed to build my spiritual muscle and strength by reading and meditating the word of God. It was a vivid dream and I actually can remember how he looked like. One of my daughters also dreamt of her guardian angel at the age of seven.
(So each of us do have our own guardian angel but again it depends how our walk with the Lord is. Eg, if we are living in blatant sin, obviously, we don’t expect our guardian angel to continue being our blessed bodyguard let alone the grieving Holy Spirit of God. Even my neighbour’s K9 knows that.)
There were also several incidents that I could quote about how our guardian angels have protected or saved us as a family from all sorts of danger and harm. All we can do is just fall on our knees and worship Him with a very grateful and thankful heart. And I don’t ever recall trying to get in touch with my guardian angel to thank him or to have a sweet communion with him or angel ‘so and so’ either as it unwise and unbiblical to do so- John 16:13-15.
But if you are seeking and desiring to know or wanting to connect with your guardian angel or angel ‘so and so’, you got to ask yourself why and who is causing you to seek after them. It is sobering to find out what kind of spiritual sources that is captivating you into this mystical ‘adventure’. In other words, it is good to call a spade, a spade, which is, in this world there are only two kingdoms; the kingdom of God and the kingdom of darkness. And I certainly want all my dear Christian friends to serve the kingdom of God while they have their being.
The final point is before any of my Christian friends think that demons can't do miracles, let me refer you to these scriptures : Exodus 7:11-12; 21-22 (Pharaoh of Egypt has evil magicians do real magic) 1st Samuel 28:3a,11-12 (God allows witch to call up and speak with the dead) Matthew 7:21-23 (Even the evil people who did miracles and healed people don't all make it to heaven) 2nd Corinthians 11:13-15 (Fallen Angels and even Satan doing miracles) Acts 8:9-11; Revelation 13:12-14 (Both the 1st and 2nd beast do miracles, signs, and wonders.)
Yes, they do miracles for they were angels too at one stage-now they are just fallen angels who usually go undercover as the good guys to deceive many especially to those who are not founded well enough on the word of God in their hearts.
Please take heed what you have read and study His precious word; yes, stay strong in His word and in the power of the Holy Spirit. Always be in close fellowship with Jesus and He will let nothing deceive or harm you as you sincerely love the Truth, amen.

If God had intended His angels to get close and personal with us humans, He would have got every of His angels’ names recorded into the bible when they were doing their earth’s assignments. But it didn’t happen, except for Gabriel, Michael and lucifer which is now called satan are mentioned.
9. What Sort of Divine Intervention?
‘Give no regard to mediums and familiar spirits; do not seek after them, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God. –Leviticus 19:331
Who makes His angels spirits,
His ministers a flame of fire. –Psalm 104:4
Shockingly enough, many out there and even Christians are buying to these alluring stories and personally inviting such tempting adventures and beliefs into their hearts and mind, which makes one wonders why? Is it because of getting an instant gratification and result for ones needs and soul through these ‘divine interventions’?
If so, then there is a great possibility of putting our faith unintentionally on these angels while unconsciously pushing the Godhead into the fading background of our hearts and minds. Is that what God really intended this to be? Please check the bible and see for yourselves if this grieves the heart of God. [also, please do refer to Clause (b) at the above].
10. What about our guardian angel then?
10 No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
11 For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
12 In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
After my born again experience, I actually dreamt of my guardian angel warning me that there will be a strong spiritual attack against me and I needed to build my spiritual muscle and strength by reading and meditating the word of God. It was a vivid dream and I actually can remember how he looked like. One of my daughters also dreamt of her guardian angel at the age of seven.
(So each of us do have our own guardian angel but again it depends how our walk with the Lord is. Eg, if we are living in blatant sin, obviously, we don’t expect our guardian angel to continue being our blessed bodyguard let alone the grieving Holy Spirit of God. Even my neighbour’s K9 knows that.)
There were also several incidents that I could quote about how our guardian angels have protected or saved us as a family from all sorts of danger and harm. All we can do is just fall on our knees and worship Him with a very grateful and thankful heart. And I don’t ever recall trying to get in touch with my guardian angel to thank him or to have a sweet communion with him or angel ‘so and so’ either as it unwise and unbiblical to do so- John 16:13-15.
But if you are seeking and desiring to know or wanting to connect with your guardian angel or angel ‘so and so’, you got to ask yourself why and who is causing you to seek after them. It is sobering to find out what kind of spiritual sources that is captivating you into this mystical ‘adventure’. In other words, it is good to call a spade, a spade, which is, in this world there are only two kingdoms; the kingdom of God and the kingdom of darkness. And I certainly want all my dear Christian friends to serve the kingdom of God while they have their being.
The final point is before any of my Christian friends think that demons can't do miracles, let me refer you to these scriptures : Exodus 7:11-12; 21-22 (Pharaoh of Egypt has evil magicians do real magic) 1st Samuel 28:3a,11-12 (God allows witch to call up and speak with the dead) Matthew 7:21-23 (Even the evil people who did miracles and healed people don't all make it to heaven) 2nd Corinthians 11:13-15 (Fallen Angels and even Satan doing miracles) Acts 8:9-11; Revelation 13:12-14 (Both the 1st and 2nd beast do miracles, signs, and wonders.)
Yes, they do miracles for they were angels too at one stage-now they are just fallen angels who usually go undercover as the good guys to deceive many especially to those who are not founded well enough on the word of God in their hearts.
Please take heed what you have read and study His precious word; yes, stay strong in His word and in the power of the Holy Spirit. Always be in close fellowship with Jesus and He will let nothing deceive or harm you as you sincerely love the Truth, amen.
