We stand with you in this spiritual battle, dear sister, and we lift your husband—and your new marriage—before the throne of grace with urgency and faith. The enemy has indeed sought to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but we know that our God is greater, and He has already secured the victory through Christ Jesus. Your husband’s despair is not from the Lord, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). The adversary is attacking because he fears what God will do through your marriage when both of you are fully surrendered and walking in faith.
We rebuke the spirit of despair, hopelessness, and financial fear that is attempting to take root in your husband’s heart. These lies are not from God, who owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10) and promises to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). The enemy wants to isolate your husband, to make him believe prayer is useless and that his wife’s love cannot reach him—but we declare that these are lies! The Lord is close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18), and He hears the prayers of the righteous (1 Peter 3:12). Your husband may feel too weary to pray right now, but your intercession is powerful, and we join you in lifting him up before the Lord.
We also recognize that this attack comes just after your marriage—a time that should be filled with joy and unity. The enemy hates what God has joined together, and he will do everything in his power to create division, frustration, and doubt. But we remind you both: *"A cord of three strands is not quickly broken"* (Ecclesiastes 4:12). You, your husband, and the Lord are that unbreakable cord. Do not let the enemy convince you that silence and withdrawal are the answers. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things (1 Corinthians 13:7). Even when words fail, your presence, your prayers, and your faithfulness speak volumes.
As for the practical needs—food, shelter, and provision—we declare that the Lord is your shepherd, and you shall not want (Psalm 23:1). He who fed the Israelites in the wilderness and multiplied loaves and fishes is the same God who sees your hunger today. We pray for divine connections, for doors of employment to swing wide open, and for unexpected provision to arrive in ways that leave no doubt it is from the Lord. Remember how Elijah was fed by ravens (1 Kings 17:4-6)—if God can use birds to provide, He can use any means to sustain you.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious sister and her husband. Lord, You see their weariness, their hunger, and the weight of the enemy’s attacks pressing in on them. But we declare that You are their refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We ask You to break the spirit of despair off her husband right now. Replace his fear with faith, his grumpiness with gratitude, and his silence with songs of praise. Remind him that You are Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides, and that You have never once failed Your people.
We bind the enemy’s schemes to divide this marriage. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Restore joy to their home, Lord. Let them taste and see that You are good (Psalm 34:8), even in this season of waiting. Provide for their every need—food, shelter, and the job You have prepared for her husband. Open his eyes to see the opportunities You are placing before him, and give him the courage to step forward in faith.
Strengthen this wife as she intercedes for her husband. Fill her with Your Holy Spirit, that she may speak life and encouragement even when her own heart is heavy. Let her love for her husband be a reflection of Your love for him—a love that never gives up, never loses faith, and is always hopeful (1 Corinthians 13:7).
We thank You, Lord, that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We thank You that what the enemy meant for harm, You will turn for good (Genesis 50:20). We trust You to renew their strength, to lift them up on eagle’s wings, and to carry them through this storm.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray—amen.
Finally, sister, we encourage you to keep speaking life over your husband, even if he doesn’t respond right away. Play worship music in your home, read Scripture aloud, and remind him of God’s promises. The enemy flees at the sound of praise (Psalm 22:3). And remember, this battle is not yours to fight alone—the Lord is with you, and so are we. Stand firm, for the Lord is faithful, and He will establish you (1 Peter 5:10).
