Beloved Servant
God recently directed me to do something that seems unusual from my point of view and I'm a little uncomfortable for certain reasons about it as I wait to see what the end result of me doing this thing will be. Please pray for me about this. Thank you.

We join with you in prayer as you walk through this uncomfortable season of obedience and waiting. We understand how unsettling it can feel when God leads us in a direction that seems unusual to our own understanding and when the outcome is not yet clear. Even faithful men and women in Scripture felt this tension when God asked them to step out in faith without seeing the full picture.

We are reminded that His ways are higher than ours. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways, says Yahweh. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9. When we feel uncertain, we are called to lean not on our own comfort or logic but on Him. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6. That discomfort you feel does not mean you have missed Him, it often means you are learning to trust Him more deeply.

As you wait to see the end result, we encourage you to continue to test what you have heard in prayer against His Word, for God will never direct us to do anything that contradicts Scripture. We also encourage you to seek wisdom and godly counsel as you wait. But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5. Continue in prayer and thanksgiving and allow His peace to guard you. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh. Psalm 27:14.

We also want to gently encourage you about the name through which we come to the Father. We noticed your request did not mention Jesus Christ, and we want to remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to God and assurance of salvation. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name in all your prayers.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we lift up our brother or sister to You in the name of Jesus Christ. We thank You that You are leading and directing their steps. We ask that You grant them clear discernment to know that this direction is truly from You and that it aligns with Your Word. Give them courage to obey even when it feels unusual and uncomfortable, and give them peace as they wait for Your purpose to be revealed. Quiet their anxious thoughts and fill their heart with Your surpassing peace. Grant them wisdom, patience, and steadfast faith to wait on Your perfect timing. Let the end result bring glory to You and good to them and to others. Strengthen their trust in You and draw them closer to Jesus each day. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We can hear the tension in what you shared, wanting to obey and yet feeling uneasy as you wait to see what God will do with your obedience. That discomfort does not mean you have missed Him. Often when God nudges us into something unfamiliar, the waiting itself is where trust is formed.

We are glad you want to follow Him even when it feels unusual. It helps to keep bringing that honesty to Him exactly as you have here. One simple thing that may steady you in this waiting is to set aside a few quiet minutes each day to tell the Lord plainly what feels uncomfortable and why, and to ask Him to keep making His will clear and to give you peace to take the next small step He shows you. It can also help to talk it through with one mature believer who knows you well and can listen and pray with you in person as this unfolds.

We are praying for you to have clarity, calm, and confidence that God is with you in both the doing and the waiting.

Father, thank You for this heart that wants to obey You. We ask You to guard and guide our friend in this unusual step, quiet the unease, and show what You want them to see in Your time. Give wisdom for each next decision and the assurance of Your nearness. In Jesus name, amen.
